Quick, but fun read. The trials of dating. With all the feelings of being lonely. While I wouldn't classify as a horror, there were elements of being scary. Enjoyable read.

This was an unusual story and I enjoyed it. The metaphor for relationships works well and the imagery was wonderfully visceral.

This is a short but cute story of dating during the zombie apocalypse, and it is one of the best zombie stories that I’ve read in a long time. I would love to see it expanded upon. This is an original story, cleverly written. Thank you to NetGalley, the author and publisher for the opportunity to review this book.

This is the first story I have read by this author. I found the piece to be a really original. I really liked the parallels to the pandemic and a zombie apocalypse. I found this to be extremely relevant in a really odd way to our current plight. This is definitely a short one, but left me wanting more. Thanks for the ARC, NetGalley,

Who doesn’t love a zombie story. This is a great take on the usual zombie story that has definitely enticed me to try and find more like it. And I honestly might go on a zombie book binge after this 😂.

Short stories are hit or miss for me, and this was was definitely a hit! I really enjoyed DeBlassie’s writing in this. It is only 17 pgs so it’s hard not to give things away; but it was a nice blend of horror and hope. Overall, it was a fast and fun read!

I did NOT see that coming. What a fun, crazy read. Loved it. So creative with the dating scene angle. And the cat. I have often said cats can see what we can't and this author apparently agrees. lol I would definitely read more by this author.

This is a beautiful and haunting short story about love during a pandemic.

DeBlassie weaves together a lyrical horror story set in the aftermath of a dire pandemic. The protagonist is looking for someone to share her life with during this troubling time, but dating after the apocalypses is tough. There are lovely moments of self-reflection and contemplation as well as an even dose of horror to keep the action tense and moving forward. Overall, this short story is a winner!

I do tend to like the darker gritty horror stories, but this was a great little story, well written, easy to read, it reminds me of the movie Warm Bodies, with a mix of horror and hope.

I received an ARC from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

If you're wondering whether or not to read this, you might as well because it's only 17 pages. A unique take on zombies with a dash of COVID quarantine thrown in, Hungry Business deserves a 3-star rating if for no other reason than it uses the 2nd person POV without being totally annoying.

This short story was my life. The epitome of dating in the 21st century. Is my date a brainless zombie with only one thing on his mind? Probably. Do I want to run screaming back to my home afterwards and curl up with a cup of tea? Absolutely. Perfect for Halloween.

This was a short story that takes place during a Zombie apocalypse 🧟‍♀️. My review will be short, so as to not spoil anything. I loved the gory descriptions of “her dates”. I guess as most short stories go, I was left wanting more at the end. I hope this turns into a full blown novel I would definitely read it. 🧟‍♂️

This was a very short story, very quick read, but still managed to be a really good, well rounded story. This follows a woman in the zombie apocalypse where zombies live among humans. It was an original and different take on a zombie story without taking anything away that make zombies what they are. Great story with a nice ending.

Thanks to NetGalley for providing a copy of this book for an honest review

Dating is hard! Is he straight, is he single, is he alive? This was a fun story, my favorite part was the cat :)

I thought this short story was very fun! DeBlassie got me to care about the narrator ( or maybe be concerned about her actions, as I would a friend). I was worried about what would happened next and enjoyed the amount of gore contained in the story. I thought the main character was very relatable and especially with the pandemic I saw parallels in my life as well. I would recommend this to anyone who wants a quick, gross love story.

I thought this was a clever twist on the zombie apocalypse. Dating horror stories gone a bit more literal. I was a bit confused on the actual state of society during this epidemic, but I’m sure that was intentional. Overall, I thought this was an enjoyable quick read, and I appreciated the sweet conclusion.

A short story very clever, very unexpected, very poignant. I must refrain from spoiling, so I can’t reveal much. This is definitely a story for our Pandemic Era of 2020-2022, but its lessons are also very apropos to any of us at any time. Read for the plot, digest the themes.

4 stars. Thank you Netgalley for the arc. Short, weird book are my favorite and this one didn't disappoint. I won't say much since it is less than 20 pages but if you like short horror books this one is for you.
