Loved the ideas & recipes I never would have tried or thought of. Eat to make or alter for Gluten Free options.

Boards and Spreads is an excellent book. The author introduced the concept of serving meals on the boards, what type of boards and how to care for them. She included recipes of various spreads and dishes, different types of breads and how to dress them for more flavorfull experiences. Ms. Fahr presented the boards fro all over the world with special emphasis on Middle Eastern flavors and spices. Overall, I think this is a great book, well written with beautiful illustration that anyone could enjoy for self or as a present to give.

If you are looking for some foodie ideas for improving your charcuterie boards, this is the book for you. The author has provided serial ideas for taking your boards to the next level. The book isn’t for someone who hasn’t done much cooking or done a board style meal before as many of the ideas are for someone with experience in the kitchen. However, the ideas provided are well thought out and work well together and provide a good base for several different ways to elevate your boards.

I received an arc of this title from NetGalley for an honest review. Many ideas about making boards and great spreads for those boards.

I liked this book ,it is full of the sort of stuff you would want to eat, not that you would make to impress your instagram friends. Having said that, the photos were beautiful and showed how the food should look.

This charcuterie board book was very neat. I enjoyed all of the recipes and things that I wouldn't had thought about.. Although, I live in rural Oklahoma so a lot of the things that were needed, I am not able to get ahold of. The pictures are a huge help. Thank you to netgalley for this in return for my honest review.

I adored Boards and Spreads by Yasmin Fahr! It was so much more than I thought it would be. It's a cookbook LOADED with yes beautiful exquisite photos that make you want to get everything pictured and have a joyous party but what I kept feeling while reading this was how much it is a celebration to the joy of food.

It is such a joyous book celebrating the vibrancy of color combos, textures, and flavors. I made the 'CharredCorn Salad with Za"tar Dressing and it was divine. This is a cookbook I want to buy and have it on a cookbook stand on my kitchen counter and eat this way all summer.

The book is laid out with Breakfast all the way through meals such as Dinnertime boards, snacking etc. I am making next The Italian Aperitivo Board which feels like a spread. Yasmin's spreads in this book are so gorgeously photographed it makes me want to break out my mandolin after grocery shopping and celebrate the joys of beautiful food presented in a way that celebrates living.

A big thank you to NetGalley and Clarkson Potter/Ten Speed Press for providing a digital ARC for me to review.

I quite enjoyed Boards and Spreads. Not only is it visually gorgeous, but also serves as a reminder that meal time doesn't need to always be a few hours of work and ton pots and pans to be fancy. Each "recipe" aka board spread, usually includes one homemade item and then a bevy of already prepared / bought items to make meal time easy and fun. With 60 recipes ranging from breakfast boards to picnics and full dinners, I think there is something in here for everyone. Yasmin also encourages creativity and finding your own way.

She seems to draw a lot of inspiration on travels abroad and brings in ingredients and spices that some readers may not have tried before. If you haven't had labneh before, please do yourself a favor and buy a huge a tub! Yasmin includes it in a few of these recipes and it's a must eat.

I took this book more as a board guide, showing me different ways to put together a quick meal. Excited to really dive in and eat :)

t was ok but many of the recipes had ingredients that I wouldn't use. I liked the salad and dip recipes. I wanted more photos and I did not like the brown background with the white lettering. It was hard to see and read.

This one is a skip for me. The photographs are nice and the images alone give some good ideas about how to arrange a board. However there is nothing very new in this book and it’s a bit of a hodge podge. Overall it feels like it was written to take advantage of a trend without doing anything new or different in the process.

Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for the ARC in exchange for my honest review.

Nay - skip it

Board & Spreads seems to be - well, I don't exactly know. It's a very trendy topic right now. Kind of felt that angle was more then a little exploited because it seemed to be a mismatch, hodge-podge of recipes.

Yes -there were quite a few spreads. But a board for jam that shows 3 different options of spreads (red, purple & brown) and only has 2 recipes - yes there are 3 but a substitution of labneh for ricotta only warrants a partial sentence in the original recipe. I was flummoxed on why I would go thru the hassle of mixing tahini into my peanut butter - it completely escaped me!

The chicken dinner recipe was just a pretty or different way to present a new chicken dinner recipe. My advice - skip the trendy the board thing if you want to try the recipe & use the platter that came with your dishes.

Just a couple examples of how I thought the charcuterie angle was being used as a carrot. I didn't see that the book offered anything unique or different to warrant purchasing.

I received an ARC from Netgalley to help me prepare my honest review.

This cover is beautiful! The pictures inside are the same quality: great presentation, delicious looking, and great lighting. As a serial snacker, this cookbook was meant for one such person. The recipes ranged from breakfast to snacking and DIPS, my favorite.

Don't be intimidated by the long recipes. They are for the entire board, which is a lot of different foods. They look easy to follow, id not a bit more time consuming. They are perfect to step up your entertaining game though!

I have a lot of books about making boards. A LOT. This may well be one of my favorites. Although there are some variations of things you may have seen before, much of this book feels very new and fresh. There are a LOT of recipes in here, which is awesome. The Peanut-Butter-Tahini toast with caramelized bananas has become a favorite breakfast/dessert for me. I loved how easy the no cook tartines board was to put together. It made it so easy to just snack. I really enjoyed the vegetable boards and platters for every season chapter. That was super helpful so not to have the same boring stuff time and time again. Will be using this one regularly.

My biggest disappointment with this book was that it was not wholly about charcuterie boards/ shareable spreads and mainly presented non-board recipes laid out on a baking sheet such as baked chicken on a cookie sheet or shakshuka in the pot it was cooked in. All of the food looked delicious, but it was not at all what I felt like the description or images promised.

Due to multiple food allergies, couldn't find much I could use at this time. Thanks for the ARC to check it out.

This book has fun ideas. I especially liked the idea of boards for breakfast! Overall, it definitely has a beginner's vibe and is competing in a popular market and doesn't lend much new to the "board" recipe book genre.

This book is seriously lucky it got 3 stars. I had massive issues with the formatting. By page 132 I was so fed up I had to comment: "I don't know who did the layout for this book but they need sacking. So much empty space. Massive margins and the method often on a separate page the the ingredients. It felt like a blatant need to expand the book into more pages. Recipes were stretched unnecessarily over 3 pages and there way too many double spread photos, This book only has approx. 65 recipes and it's nearly 200 pages!" I love the feel of an actual book in my hands but I'm still conscious of the sheer quantity of paper usage (and consequently trees) involved, so to see such a sheer waste of useable space by a publisher is astonishing. On that alone I can't recommend that anyone buy the physical copy of this book.

As for the contents, well the concept was all well and good but not enough to make a whole book, least of all 200 pages worth. It quickly devolved into sticking stuff in bowls and putting them on a board. You know when you have your mates around for chilli but everyone likes something different and one can't eat spicy food, so you end up make making a big pot of bolognaise sauce whacking it in the middle of the table and surrounding it with separate bowls of rice, pasta, bread, cheese, chillies, fried chorizo, yoghurt, guac etc etc etc. Well, that's what half this book was, then there were side dishes plated so people could help themselves. Probably only a third were the type of sharing platters I was expecting to find.

Fantastic photography and recipes in this innovative recipe book. We are a family that adores our boards and spread dinners. As I read this book I could picture my family around the table laughing and enjoying the wonderful and inspiring recipes included. There are a number of Middle Eastern inspired dishes which is a food region that I am not accustomed to and yet I can not wait to explore some of these flavours. This book would be an accompaniment to any gathering.

This book is easily a favourite. If you love using your charcuterie board - wooden platter - then this book is DEFINITELY for you! Such great new variations of ingredients, spices, bowls and everything you don't think about! They have you covered. My favourite has to be Breakfast Boards... but don't just take my word for it - go look at all the photos - wipe your drool and get cooking!

A huge thank you to NetGalley, Yasmin Fahr and Clarkson Potter Publishers for providing me with an eARC of this publication which allows me to provide you with an unbiased review.
