I absolutely love the concept of blessing your children; it is biblical after all! Created in the image of God, our words have power. The Bible encourages us to use our words for blessing rather than cursing, and throughout the Word we see examples of verbal blessings spoken over people. I appreciate how Susie Larson makes this concept of blessing othes so accessible for all of us in May His Face Shine Upon You. In her book, Larson provides a series of blessings for me as a mom while also giving me words to speak over my children. She mentors us so that eventually it becomes a natural part of what we do. Not only that but the biblically based topics included are so very relevant. You'l l find blessings focused on things like: When You Need Peace and Rest, Free to Be You, An Eternal Perspective, God is in Control, Secure in Christ, and so much more. Pick up a copy of May His Face Shine Upon You today. While the blessings to speak over your children sound like they're for younger children, it's easy to see how moms can take these same blessings and tweak them to speak words of life and encouragement over older children and even adult children. Be blessed and begin to bless your children out loud. You'll be amazed at how your outlook will change as you are blessed, and then as you verbally bless your children. It's never too late to bless others! (Note: I received a copy of the book from the publisher in exchange for this honest review, but the opinions expressed are my own.)

I love Susie Larson! She has spoken at my church a few times. This is such a treat for mothers and children. Nice but short stories to read together. The only thing that I didn't like was some were aimed to be read at night and some in the morning. I would have liked consistency as I wouldn't want to read a story that says sleep well when it's morning. Love the cover! Perfect for kids!
