This is a lovely children's book about a racoon called Rico, who meets a girl called Ellie at a park in New York. He pretends he is a dog, so that Ellie will play with him, and they have a lot of fun together. However, once Ellie's family find out that Rico is not a dog, things change for everyone. Will they get a happy ending?

I enjoyed this heartwarming book, and the message that it brings to young readers through its beautiful graphics and pleasant, easy to read text.

Many thanks to the author, publisher and NetGalley for a copy of this book.

What an amazing book and beautifully illustrated one! Although this was kind of fantasy, but Ellie and Rico really touched my heart. One who wants to belong, and one who needs a friend. When Ellie met Rico, well, best friends are forever.

This is an adorably sweet story in which the reader/listener gets to follow along with a curious and somewhat lonely raccoon. He decides he wants to find out what he's been missing, so he awakes in the early morning hours instead of being up at night, and His adventure begins. There'll be one surprise after another, much to raccoon's delight, and as his journey continues you'll watch as raccoon becomes another animal, gets a name, gets a family, and then makes a best friend for life. The Mostly True Adventures of Ellie & Rico: Riverside Park NYC will make a wonderful addition to any family's library. Happy Reading!

Thank you to Netgalley and Thomas Oliver for this Arc.
