An Honest Lie is the next thriller from Tarryn Fisher that readers will race through! An Honest Lie starts out strong as it moves back and forth through present-day scenes and flashbacks. Rainey is making a new life for herself in the Pacific Northwest with her partner, Grant but she can't seem to outrun her past. Flashback to Rainey as a kid, known then as Summer, and her experience living in a cult with her mother. The cult scenes are so tense and will keep the pages turning. Fisher excels at creating suspenseful, anxiety ridden environments where the reader gets totally sucked in. The twist in this book wasn't quite as sensational as in Fisher's other books but will still surprise some readers. A great pick for any domestic thriller fans with an interest in cults.

Pernicious. Twisted. Warped.
It took me several chapters in to discern the gist of the story. Rain’s narrative flits from past to present. What happened in the cult marked her. I wondered why she was even on the girls’ trip since she wasn’t enjoying herself.
I liked how she outwitted her enemies. There is a lot of action on the book and it kept my interest,

This was the first Tarryn Fisher book I’ve read and I really enjoyed it! I love the alternating Then and Now chapters telling Rainey’s story. I am editing my review to gush about this book because I cannot stop thinking about it!!! The cult brainwashing and mindset is Just mind-blowing. My heart aches for the little girl who was so confused. Then the confusion with the “friends” in the present time and trying to navigate who to trust and who to like… I just loved it all! I totally love Fisher’s writing style and now I want to go back and read her other books!
