A fun book with a rather narrow focus, Cooking with Whey is perfect for cheesemakers hunting around for more things to do with whey. I especially loved the way it distinguished between types of whey and gave thorough information about substitutions.

Do you know that Whey can be used to make pet food, human food, plant food and that it is made from straining yogurt or cheese? The author has enjoyed eating whey based food and beverages since childhood.
You will learn how to mix whey and vegetables together to make pet food, Horchata drink, a Mexican cantaloupe drink, Sweet Almond Milk, Bread, No-Knead Ciabatta, and Skillet Cornbread.
You can even make tasty side dishes and desserts with whey - such as Cream of Broccoli Soup, Mexican Grilled Corn, Potato Salad, Grilled Chicken Breast, and Strawberries and Cream Popsicles!
Enjoy using whey to flavor your world!

If you have whey you’ll love this book. Exciting and varied recipes of all kinds. It’s obvious Claudia Lucerne is an expert on the subject of cheese making and has come up with a surprising number and variety of delicious ways to use this byproduct that would normally be thrown away. Well written recipes, easy to follow instructions, lots of variations, engaging anecdotes, and cute illustrations. Highly recommend.

Sinceramente non sapevo nemmeno cosa significasse "whey" ma non solo ho imparato una nuova parola, mi son davvero goduta le ricette proposte e ammetto che alcune son davvero geniali. Un inchino alla scrittura e alle illustrazioni

I did not know that you could do so much with whey. We are always told “waste not, want not,” but oftentimes due to a lack of resources, we do not know how not to waste. This cookbook shows how the different types of whey can be made into a multitude of different recipes, not only as food, but in many other aspects of life. This book is a treat and I look forward to buying myself a physical copy.

I make my own yogurt but have never cooked with the whey from it before and would love to start now. This book is full of appetizing, inventive recipes and I can't wait to make more of them! My household strives to be a low-waste household, and using the whey from our yogurt-making is just another way we can reduce the waste we produce and make delicious food. I would also purchase the illustrated food art in this book if it were available as prints -- the book is beautiful. I received an e-arc of this book through Netgalley.

Thank you to the publisher, author, and NetGalley for a copy of this book in exchange of honest feedback. I really liked the cover! It's really cute. I don't know anything at all about cooking with whey, so I am approaching this book with a completely open mind. This book is separated into sections such as "There's a lot to learn about whey" and "recipes (beverages, cocktails, bread, savories, sweets)."

The layout of the book is modern and easy to read. There are cute fonts & infographics that convey information effectively. I REALLY loved the color scheme of the book as well, it all flows together well from a visual perspective. The recipes are varied. A lot of different types of foods/inspirations are represented in the recipe collections. Even more to the point, the ingredients are pretty common & the instructions are clear. I think that even if you don't know much about whey (like me), you can follow the recipes & find something of value from these collections. If you are familiar with cooking with whey, then there are plenty of examples that could keep you making new things all the time.
