Delilah meets Sebastian St. Allen while searching for Oliver, the missing son of her maid. At first it's not clear that he's a good guy but he is- he's an Agent for the Crown. The two of them join forces and then with the Maidens of Mayhem, a group of strong women who are dedicated to righting wrongs. This was a standalone for me and that's perhaps why it was less rewarding than I'd hoped. Thanks to netgalley for the ARC. For Bryant's fans.

This is an awesome book filled with treachery and love.
Delilah and Sebastian make a simply perfect couple.
Lady Delilah Ashbrook is tirelessly searching the streets of London for a boy who vanished while under her care. Suspecting the child was abducted to be sold, Delilah hopes the Maidens can help find him before it’s too late. But Delilah’s mission brings her into the crosshairs of a mysterious man who is also looking for the boy. Sebastian St. Allen certainly cuts a dashing figure. But is he hoping to save the child—or harm him?
Sebastian has his own reasons for protecting the less fortunate. He has a gift for seamlessly navigating both London’s darkest corners and its most elite circles. But nothing prepared him for Delilah, whose delicate beauty belies an independence and sensuality he finds irresistible. Sebastian knows they can help each other if only she’ll let her guard down. And as they become entrenched in danger, they realize how strong their ties have grown—and how much they need one another.
Annabelle Bryant has written another very good book.
I received a complimentary copy of this book from the publisher and NetGalley. This in no way affects my opinion of this book which I read and reviewed voluntarily.

Delilah’s maid’s son is kidnapped while under her care. She sets out to search for him and enlists the help of the Maidens of Mayhem. She also attracts the attention of agent for the crown Sebastian who feels he must watch out for her. Together they try to solve the mystery. I received an ARC from NetGalley and Kensington Books for my honest review.

Beautiful prose makes an already enjoyable book even better. I can't recommend this book more, it was. a great way to spend some time.

Thank you Netgalley and Kensington Books for this arc. 💚

"good things, like our love shall never come to an end. The years ahead offer us unspoken promise of laughter, passion and joy"

Interesting concept However, the execution of the plot wasn't all that great and could've been better. Reading the first half was kinda like chore, I was bored. On the other hand, I actually enjoyed reading the second half for many reasons. Firstly, Delilah grew on me, I started liking her character and found her unapologetically bold and strong. Secondly, good smut. 🤭

The writing style wasn't the easiest to follow, and was very dull at times. The romance needed alot of work. Alas I spent nice time reading it.

What a fast moving entertaining story! I loved the independent women and the spicy love scenes sprinkled in. Can't wait for the next book!

I loved reading The Lady Loves Danger and especially the character of Lady Delilah Ashbrook.

In the story, she is searching the streets of London for a boy who she was taking care of who vanishes. She thinks the boy was kidnapped to then be sold.

But she is not the only one searching for the boy. Sebastian has his own reasons for protecting the less fortunate. He has a gift for seamlessly navigating both London’s darkest corners and its most elite circles. But nothing prepared him for Delilah, whose he finds irresistible.

Sebastian knows they can help each other if only she’ll let her guard down. And as they become entrenched in danger, they realize how strong their ties have grown—and how much they need one another.

Great storyline!

This book has likable characters and it started off strong with plenty of romantic tension and a suspenseful plot. But it did start to drag about halfway through. The characters seemed to talk openly about some things but not others. And their investigations seemed to get a little muddled and then unrealistically resolved.

However, I did like that the couple didn’t get into silly fights and they kept in communication. Delilah was a foreword thinking woman, and she and Sebastian were an excellent match. There were some great lines about the double standards for men and women, and I loved how Delilah refused to accept those standards.

This is an ARC, so things may change before the final copy. But I will say some of the phrasings were awkward, with what I would consider essential conjunctions missing or with word groupings that weren’t natural. This issue did distract me sometimes; I don’t remembering noticing style issues in Duchess If You Dare, the first book in this series.

A kidnapped little boy, a dog-napped pampered Pomeranian, and a missing diamond studded dog collar combined with a beautiful, brave lady, a mysterious, handsome agent of the Crown and a puzzling book store -- then toss in the three ladies from Wycombe & Company, and what do you get? The much anticipated second book in Anabelle Bryant's exciting series The Maidens of Mayhem! The Lady Loves Danger....a winning combination indeed!
I must admit I was hooked after the first few paragraphs of chapter one! I truly liked Sebastian St. Allen and Lady Delilah Ashbook and enjoyed learning more of their backstories. I also smiled (and sneered) reading about a wonderful supporting cast of characters...some kindhearted or funny and some not so wholesome or nice.
I especially enjoyed the twist of not one, but two crime fighting organizations at work in the streets of 1817 London.
This was a most enjoyable tale of romance and mystery. I do hope to hear more about the two main characters and am looking forward to book three and the further adventures of The Maidens of Mayhem!
Many thanks to NetGalley for the advance copy!

The Lady Loves Danger is the second in the Maidens of Mayhem book series. I loved the camraderie in the first book and the bond between the women was interesting and captivating and so welcoming. In this book however, we meet a new woman, Delilah Ashbrook, and she is on a mission to find a missing child. This is how she comes across and eventually joins the Maidens. The only problem with that was the missing relationships between all the women. They accepted her and her mission so quickly but that history from the first book wasn't here as much and sometimes the sections with the Maidens felt off and stilted.

The love interest in this book, Sebastian St. Allan left nothing to be desired. He was honorable, capable, handsome, and kind and Delilah was captivated by him just like me. He has a dark family history but he uses his past to shape him into a better person with a brighter future and they romance was such a good one.

If you like historical romances with a touch of mystery then you will love this read with fun characters and a great HEA.

I really enjoyed this book. Sebastian and Delilah are such a great couple both strong characters with a drive for justice. I believe it was love at first sight, they just didn’t realize it. With their paths keep crossing the need for each other grew. They understood each other and excepted the other’s need to protect. Even when Sebastian wanted Delilah to stay out of danger, he excepted her for who she was.
Little Oliver was adorable! Looking forward to the next book.

The Lady Loves Danger follows Lady Delilah Ashbrook, a woman trying to find a young boy who was kidnapped while in her care. When Delilah crosses paths with Sebastian St. Allen, an agent for the crown, they team up and work together to find the missing boy. Suspecting the boy was abducted to be sold, Delilah unfolds an child trafficking operation that is bigger and more sinister than she imagined.

Sebastian dedicates his life to helping people in dangerous and precarious situations, so when Delilah tells him of her maid’s missing son, Sebastian readily offers his assistance. As the two become entrenched in the mystery, they must face their ever-growing feelings for each other.

Delilah and Sebastian are well-developed characters, and their opposites-attract romance is filled with witty banter and sexual tension. Both are selfless and brave, and they make a really good team. Their romantic relationship builds gradually as they work together, yet their connection is strong from their first meeting. I love that Sebastian doesn’t dissuade Delilah from doing what she wants. Instead, he encourages her and even teaches her self-defense, which is one of my favorite scenes in the book. They definitely bring out the best in each other, and their romance is the highlight of the story.

The Maidens of Mayhem are a secret society of women who protect those in need and fight injustice. They are fierce, intelligent, and skilled women, and their actions are similar to Sebastian’s. They all have similar goals in righting the wrongs of those less fortunate. The story just touches on the surface of this intriguing group, and I wish there were more of them in the story. I thought they would have more of a role in exposing and capturing the child traffickers. Hopefully, their skills and actions will be highlighted more in the next book.

An intriguing story with action, adventure, mystery, and romance, The Lady Loves Danger is a fun addition to the series. I do wish some of the characters were fleshed out a bit more, especially The Maidens of Mayhem, but overall I enjoyed the book. Thanks to NetGalley and Kensington Books for providing me with a copy of the book. All thoughts are my own.

Got about 30% into book and completely lost interest, very disappointing as I liked the previous instalment in the series. The premise of the story was interesting but the characters had no on page chemistry and the story failed to grab my attention.

Thanks to Kensington Books and NetGalley for the arc!

Duchess If You Dare was one of the first books I read on NetGalley. And it’s one of my fav historical romances. This book was just as good!

I’d recommend this to people who like Manda Collin’s series. This reminded me a lot of A Lady’s Guide to Mischief and Mayhem. It wasn’t just a romance, but also a mystery.

Delilah was a great lead. We see her grow and mature. And Sebastian and her had such good chemistry.

I liked seeing the Maidens of Mayhem again. And I thought it was cool that this book wasn’t about one of the characters we’ve already met but someone new who decides to join the group.

Sebastian was a dream boat. He didn’t hold Delilah back once he knew fighting crime and being in the Maidens was what she wanted. He even taught her to fight!

In this second book in the series, we meet another member of the Maidens of Mayhem, Delilah, as she’s trying a find a boy who was kidnapped and she immediately runs into Sebastian, who has his own reasons for tracking down these child traffickers. As their paths cross repeatedly, the quickly realize they have to join forces and work together.

This one was ultimately a bit of a let down for me. While I liked Delilah and Sebastian, I was disappointed by the lack of strong women friendships, since we really don’t get to spend any time with the Maidens of Mayhem. It was also a bit of a letdown that Delilah and the heroine of the first book don’t appear to know each other, since this is a series which only seems to be loosely connected by those Maidens of Mayhem that we would barely know existed if it weren’t for a few mentions of them. But on to the positives, I did like the intrigue aspect and I enjoyed how Anabelle Bryant realistically had Delilah and Sebastian evolve and grow as they began to trust and love each other. I liked Delilah and her sass.

A solid 3 stars from me, I liked it but I was hoping for a bit more. Thank you to Netgalley for an advance copy in exchange for an honest review.

Sebastian St. Allen works undercover for the Crown. He’s trying to find missing children in a bad part of London at night in 1817, when out of nowhere Lady Delilah Ashbrook interferes, ruining his chance to go after the driver of the suspicious carriage.

While calling out loud the name of her maids missing young child in Seven Dials at night, and running away towards trouble, Delilah doesn’t count on help from the dashing, tall and mysterious man, when she’s cornered by a vagrant.

Together, Sebastian and Delilah work on finding her maids son Oliver. Both are hiding some things and they keep running into each other during the weirdest times, but the attraction and lust is undeniable.

I enjoyed this book. It was clear to me, who had the necklace. The only thing that bothered me was the rushed ending. With St. Allen’s constant talk (mostly inner dialogue) about his heritage, I thought there would be another plot twist.

I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

Lady Delilah Ashbrook and Sebastian St. Allen meet on a dark night in Seven Dials, both separately investigating a child kidnapping. St. Allen works for the Crown and Lady Delilah is looking for her ladys maids son, Oliver, who was taken from the street while in her care.

They join forces to solve the mystery, and in the process Delilah meets the Maidens of Mayhem.

I hadn't read the first in this series but it works well as a standalone. The plot is slightly convoluted but it's good fun and Sebastian and Delilah are a great match.

Anabelle Bryant does it again, once you start the book you will lose yourself in this great story. Filled with lovely and vivid characters, an amazing attention to detail and mystery, this second chapter of The Maidens of Mayhem will take you to a delightful journey.

I just love the way Sebastian and Delilah evolve during the story, no matter they came from totally opposite backgrounds they found a way to make things work out and give us a beautiful love story. The way Sebastian teaches Delilah self defense was one of the top moments in the story for me.

If you love a story filled with mystery and romance, you will fall in love with this story.

Delilah is an orphan living in London with her aunt. Her maid’s son Oliver is kidnapped. In her quest to find Oliver, she meets Sebastian St.Allen.

I enjoyed the development of the relationship between Delilah and Sebastian. There were deep feelings between them and boy did sparks between this pair.

This is a well-written, beautiful romance. The romantic drama kept me glued to my chair.

I received an advance reader copy from the publisher. All opinions are my own.
