Allie and her dog Mel are once again in body finding mode. Luckily, she is dating the police chief and has a willing group of senior citizens to help investigate. An ongoing series that is always fun, set in a great location. As a bonus, one gets some great recipes.

I really enjoyed this book. The characters are great and the story is interesting. I did guess who the killer was before the reveal in the book. #AMidsummerNightsFudge #NetGalley.

The newest installment of the Candy-Coated Mystery series! Set on Mackinac Island, Allie owns an inn and fudge store. Her latest mystery starts when the organizer of a summer festival gets murdered the night of the festival. Soon more bodies start piling up. Allie must find out whodunit before she is next!

This series is a really good cozy mystery series! I was not super shocked by the whodunit, but I enjoyed the clues and the journey to get to the end. Like always, there are delicious sounding recipes in the book! I've made some of the fudge recipes from previous books so I'm excited to try these.

Festival Fudged…
The tenth in the Candy-Coated mystery series and the Midsummer Night Festival ends abruptly in murder and mayhem when the crowner of the festival queen is found dead. Allie is asked to sub for her the next day. In between that and making her delicacies, Allie cannot help but embark on her own investigation. A fun cozy mystery with a colourful cast and a delightful setting. A worthy addition to the series.

I love catching up with Allie and her friends. This is one of my favorite series that is always evolving. During the Midsummer Night’s Festival, Allie decides to take her bichonpoo, Mal, home to spare her furry little ears from the sounds of fireworks. But on her way back, Allie spots a body in the lake. Just minutes ago, Winona Higer was crowning the event’s Queen—could the competition have really been that deadly?
Overall all this was a a fun fast paced mystery.

It's time to join Allie McMurphy and her friends at the Grand hotel, located on Mackinac Island.
I love catching up with this cast of colorful characters. I let my mind whisk me away to the island, where I can hear the horses clip-clopping on the road, and catch a scent of chocolate, as I approach The McMurphy, to watch a fudge making demonstration.
For Allie, living on the island is a dream come true, until there's a murder that shocks their little town.
Allie loves the intrigue of a mystery, but not when the safety of her friends is at risk.
Rex, resident law enforcer and Allie's boyfriend, knows that he can't stop her from being a little nosey, but when her life is in danger once again, he wishes she wouldn't get involved.

This was a great story, I had no clue who the villain was until the reveal. I love it when I'm stumped.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for selecting me to read an advanced copy of this book.

While Mackinac Island is beginning to rival Cabot Cove for murders, Allie McMurphy, local inn keeper, fudge maker and amateur sleuth is up to the challenge of discovering who is murdering committee members of the island's Midsummer's Night Festival. Problem is, Allie finds herself a committee member too - which may put her on a murder "hit list"!

Allie is a fun character and I have enjoyed seeing her grow into a savvy businesswoman and a talented sleuth. I love that the island, in a way, becomes another "character" with its secrets and history. The supporting characters are well-written and relatable and make for a well-rounded mystery. I can almost taste the fudge that Allie makes - word of warning, you'll crave fudge as you read!

One day, I hope to visit the Island and I'll grab some fudge and try to imagine Allie and friends solving mysteries. For now, I'll wait, impatiently for the next book!

I received an ARC from NetGalley and the opinions in this review are my own.

Another wonderful cozy mystery by Nancy Coco. This is book 10 in the Candy-Coated Mystery series but can be read as a stand alone.

Thank you Netgalley for the advance reader copy of A Midsummer Night's Fudge by Nancy Coco in exchange for an honest review. Fudge shop owner Allie McMurphy lives on Mackinac Island in Michigan. In July, the Midsummer Night's Festival celebrates summer on the island. Allie finds a lady floating in the water. She has been shot in the middle of her forehead. Allie fishes her out and calls the police.
Nancy Coco is a great author and I have lived her writing since I found it.

Allie McMurphy owns and operates the hotel and fudge shop on Historic Mackinac Island where her more than a friend is the chief local law. It starts out with the end of the local pageant and the discovery of the first body. Let the sleuthing begin! The clues are confusing, the characters nice but realistic, the twists surprising, and the sleuthing well done. The book is punctuated with delicious chocolate dessert recipes every few chapters. Good read!
I requested and received a free temporary e-book from Kensington Books via NetGalley. Thank you!

A Midsummer Night's Fudge by Nancy Coco is an excellent culinary cozy mystery that is the 10th book in the equally wonderful: Candy-Coated Mystery series. I just love this series!

I really feel as if this series has truly come into its own. The last several books have been the best few, and this adds to those as well. This one focusses around the Island during the peak of summer and Allie is at it again…sleuthing it up after she stumbles into a murder scene. When some of her friends are targeted by a potential serial killer, she makes it her business to help solve the mystery right along with the police. Frustrating her bf, and officer, she and Mal work with friends and locals to help save the day.

I really enjoyed the inclusion of some new characters, and hope that a lot of these locals will continue to take part in future books. I kinda figured out the culprit about halfway through, but the story, surprises, characters, and enjoyment that I had while reading easily made up for that.

I really, really love this series and can’t wait for the next one.

I also plan to try out the Chocolate Swirl Coffeecake recipe. It sounds quite doable and tasty.

5/5 stars
