An enjoyable historical romance with nice characters! There could have been more relationship development though as it kinda fell flat there!

First of all, I must confess that I read this out of order (after the second book of the series), but each book makes for a good standalone, so it wasn’t a problem. And I loved this book as much as the other one, if not even more!. I particularly loved the relationship between the sisters, because they are very different, but they love and respect each other and their mutual differences. And I found the insights on preparing a girl’s debut very interesting, especially all the fashion details and the food!
I adored the hero, an accidental duke with a profession who understands the value of money and occasionally blunders in Society. And Diana is a force of nature, smart and strong and passionate. Their chemistry is over the top and their banter conveys all their feelings for each other. The writing is perfection and I even cried at the end (oh my, that letter!) because everything felt so real! I can’t wait for Verity’s book, because this Phantom Fellow who follows her everywhere is really, really intriguing…
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

I really like these three sisters and their event planning business, very cool for back in the day and fitting into the traditional historical romances. I look forwad to the next in the series

I just love Sabrina Jeffries and A Duke For Diana explain why. It's one of those books that I can read in one sitting and enjoy all of it. This is a fantastic start to a new series and has all the aspects of regency romance that I love.

Sabrina Jeffries is one of my absolute favorite historical romance writers. I adore her books and A Duke for Diana, although not one of my favorites, was not an exception.

Geoffrey Brookhouse has recently inherited the Grenwood Dukedom from a distant cousin through his late father. However, he has a secret, one that could cause ruin to his family. He feels a great burden, and with his new found title comes the possibility of safety for his younger sister and mother. But he has no idea how to move around in society as a Duke, and as an ironworker and engineer who has spent his life building actual bridges rather than those in society, he knows even less about debuts and balls.

Diana and her sisters, on the other hand, have made a business of debuts, balls, and other gatherings that have made their place amongst the set tolerable after they themselves endured a scandal set upon them by their own parents. The sisters and their company, Elegant Occasions, are perfectly positioned to help Lady Rosabel find a match. What the newfound Duke and Diana herself are not prepared for is the spark between them, a growing attraction that could quite possibly put them both in hot water if they aren’t careful.

I really enjoyed this first installment in the new Designing Debutantes series. Diana is a strong character and her sisters Eliza and Verity are ripe for stories of their own. The relationship between Geoffrey and Diana is fiery and passionate, and they are both entirely too strong headed for the sake of their own hearts. Diana is proper in a way Geoffrey isn’t but is simultaneously caught in the bonds of societal expectations, and Geoffrey is protective and less than thrilled with the binds put on him by his new social standing. Each one has the ability to help the other through their own trials and tribulations, and we see an almost enemies to friends to lovers story arc that makes you root for them and their family members.

I am very excited to start the next book in this series, What Happens in the Ballroom, featuring two prominent characters from A Duke for Diana. Keep an eye out for my soon upcoming review!

Thank you to Netgalley and the ever lovely Kensington Books for the advanced copy in exchange for this fair and honest review. I’m a bit late to the ball on this one, but it was such a beautiful read and I’m primed and prepared for the next.

A new series, with new characters by a master storyteller. As always, wonderful characters (with "issues"), delightful banter and an engaging plot.

The main characters are Lady Diana Harper and Geoffrey Brookhouse. They have much in common. Diana and her sisters were betrayed by their scandalous parental units, and to avoid the cruelty of society they created Elegant Occasions to support themselves independently from their father. Their business helps ladies with social events. Geoffrey, his mother and his sister Rosy, were betrayed by their father. Geoffrey is a civil engineer, who has recently become then Duke of Glenwood after a slew of male relatives perished without leaving male heirs. He's rather be building bridges, but must make sure his sister and mother are taken care of, in case the scandal his father created is ever revealed. Geoffrey hires Elegant Occasions to guide his sister through her season. All deal the hand they were dealt with and once all the secrets are revealed, all's well that ends well.

I read an ARC that I received from NetGalley. This is my unbiased and voluntary review. I look forward to reading the next book in the series.

I am a fan of Sabrina Jeffries so I am so happy to have read this one! It was a lot of fun!

Diana and her two sisters parents caused a scandal that ruins their chances of marriage. Well, one of her sisters was married at the time but her husband basically ran off into the military and then died. So all three are single and decided to open up a business that would cater to young debutants that are coming out into society. Diana is good at fashion, the other sisters are good at food and hair, so they create Elegant Occasions.

It has become a great way for them to make money and when a new duke needs help making sure his sister has a good coming out things get real interesting. Civil engineer Geoffrey Brookhouse has unexpectedly inherited the dukedom of Grenwood. He is not real happy about it but wants to give his younger sister the debut she deserves, he just didn't realize how much it would cost! That was one of the fun banters that Geoffrey and Diana have at to start us out and I just new this was going to be a fun one!!

I love Diana and her sisters and I really liked Geoffrey, his sister and mother, so this had a great cast of characters! I think the only thing I didn't like is that I felt like it just took Geoffrey to long to come to terms with things (can't say what).

Recommend if you are a fan of historical romances.

This book was really cute! I might be slightly biased in my like of this book because I shared a name with the titular character, but Diana and Geoffrey had such an adorable and tension-filled relationship.
Their relationship kept me on the edge of my seat and their dialogue was amazing! I also loved their respective families, making the book feel real.
The only thing that I didn’t really love were the historical inaccuracies, but I understand that that’s not always possible, with the book being written in a completely different time.

I have read lots of Sabrina Jeffries' novels, but I don't think this one is my favorite. The story is about Geoffrey, a duke who is also a working man (gasp!) and Diana, who with her sisters were ostracised by the ton because of her mother's past scandals. I liked that the characters are not just your ordinary aristocrats, but I just feel like it lacked some oomph.. and the story was a bit abrupt in a few places.

I so wanted to enjoy this one more than I did but something just kept me from really engaging with the storyline.

It certainly wasn’t bad, but it certainly wasn’t great either. Is it okay to describe a book as simply “meh”?

The premise of the storyline was wonderful and given it was “recommended for fans of Bridgerton” I certainly jumped right in. Historical romance, regency romance, a Duke, the risk of becoming a fallen woman, a scandal, horse-drawn carriages and lavish balls, what wouldn’t draw my attention.

A Duke for Diana is about exactly what the title says, Diana and a Duke. Diana, shunned by society after her parents very public and shameful divorce, runs her own party planning business with her two sisters, Eliza and Verity. And then we have the Duke, Geoffrey, a rather “boorish” man who seemingly fell into the title of Duke after his father passed away.

The Duke hire’s Diana’s company to help his sister Rosy who has now come of age and is ready to be presented to society. As sparks seems to fly almost instantly between Diana and The Duke a love/hate relationship between the two soon develops.

The problem I had with this is that none of it seemed real. The supposed instant chemistry didn’t seem real, the completely unrealistic sexual banter between the two didn’t seem real, and unfortunately, I just didn’t take to either one of the characters enough to really believe in the whole storyline.

It was an easy book to flick through, and I’m super grateful to Netgalley and Kensington Books for the opportunity to read this one, just unfortunate it’s not one that will stick in my memory for too long.

I'm probably Sabrina Jeffries' biggest fan, and I love everything she's ever written. I enjoyed this book very much, although it's not her strongest. I love the new characters she's introducing and the potential is there for a lot of fun, but Diana and Geoffrey had great chemistry but were a little dull. I'm looking forward to Eliza and Verity's stories, especially artsy and slightly awkward Verity. Thanks for the copy, NetGalley!

A Duke for Diana is book 1 in the Designing Debutantes series by Sabrina Jeffries. The series about three sisters keeping it together and thriving after a family scandal caused by their parents within the ton promises to be another winner for Jeffries. The first book takes us through the story of Lady Diana Harper who we find had almost settled into believing that love and marriage was not for her and that she was a rather cold person. Diana who excels at fashionable designs runs Elegant Occasions with her sisters. Enters Geoffrey Brookhouse, the newly minted Duke of Grenwood who’s a civil engineer by trade and had no expectations of inhering said dukedom. Now Geoffrey finds himself scrambling to fit in with the ton and to make the best possible match for his sister before what he perceives to be an impending doom.

I am a Jeffries fan and tend to like getting my hands on her novels because her characters tend to be quirky and often bold. This new series seems to be heading in that direction though this first installment read very slow to me. Don’t despair though it does pick up and the wittiness and back and forth exchanges that makes one smile and even laugh out loud do develop a few chapters in. It’s just that there were ‘vocabulary’ words as my kids call them when depicting the stringent customs of the ton and all that the new Duke and his family needed to learn and understand.

The fact that Diana realizes that Geoffrey might be the one and is willing to pursue it while dealing with her hang ups while he literally keeps fighting irked me bad enough to not give this 5 stars. He was just too stubborn and the secret to me did not seem insurmountable, but you friends can decide for yourself. The secondary characters make you want to explore the series further and find out if things work out for them as well, especially his sister and her budding romance which we have in the background and Eliza’s life as well. I believe Eliza’s story is next. I quite enjoyed this first part in the series and I am voluntarily leaving a review from the ARC copy that was provided to me by the publisher comprised of my own honest opinions.

A Duke for Diana was the first book in the Designing Debutantes series. The series is based on three Harper siblings who Society ostracized after their mom ran off with her lover and their parent’s scandalous divorce. They used their knowledge of Society and started their own business, Elegant Occasions, where they advised women on how to navigate Society.
Lady Diana Harper is an expert in fashion and her job was to help debutantes acquire a wardrobe to have a successful Season. She and her sisters were hired by Geoffrey Brookhouse, the new Duke of Grenwood, to launch his sister Rosabel’s first season. Helping Rosabel was no problem, but Diana getting Geoffrey to understand the importance of his role was frustrating.
Unexpectedly civil engineer Geoffrey Brookhouse inherited the dukedom of Greenwood. He wants Rosabel to marry a man with a title this Season in case their family secret is exposed. He hates the ton and doesn’t understand why his unfashionable clothes and refusal to attend events will affect Rosabel’s season.
This was a good book and I cannot wait to read more of the series in future books.

This book was mostly about one’s emotions, passions and ways to keep them inside or... not being able to do so. Because of that, you could quickly find yourself reading on. When you read about an emotion for 100 pages or so, you’re bound to do just that, but trust me when I say - stick around for the ending. It was perfect..

I wasn't a fan of this one- I'm usually a huge fan of Jeffries, but there was something off about this book. Maybe she's trying a different writing style. Ladies didn't really work in that era we all know that- the scenarios just made no sense. Or maybe I just prefer her books as a series.

A Duke for Diana is the first book in the Designing Debutantes series by Sabrina Jeffries. I’m definitely a fan of all her work, so this new series did not disappoint. Our main characters include Geoffrey Brookhouse, who is a civil engineer that inherited a dukedom he did not expect in any way. The other main character is Lady Diana Harper, who with her two sisters, started a business named Elegant Occasions in order to support themselves after they were shunned by society for their parents' scandalous behavior. I love that this series explores lives that were not perfect. The were not part of society anymore, yet, everyone knew who they were and used their services because they were really good at planning events. Geoffrey knew he needed help planning a debut for his sister because they were outsiders suddenly thrust into the middle of society. Things had to go perfectly for his sister Rosalie. Geoffrey was determined to get a good match for her.

The fun starts when Diana insists that Geoffrey learn the rules and behaviors of his new position in society. As a civil engineer with a logical mind, he does not have any experience with the ton of London. They have to spend a lot of time with each other and feelings start to interfere with the job. There are some unexpected twists and turns that lead to adventure, some mystery and definitely a lot of heat. I loved the details of chalking the floors for a ball, that was new historical information for me. I love the relationship the sisters had between them and the friendships that were going on with some of the other characters. The title implies the happily ever after for Geoffrey and Diana. Two unconventional characters who found each other in a fast-paced, fun, sexy story. I highly recommend this book to any fan of historical fiction. It’s a great start to a new series.

This is my first Sabrina Jeffries book and I truly enjoyed it.
Geoffrey and Diana’s love story was sweet. Geoffrey has to learn to trust and allow himself to share himself with others. Diana has survived many scandals and continues to fight for what she wants.

I have to admit that this was a really wonderful book. One of the interesting things was to see three ladies who became ostracized because their mother ran away while still married to their father! So now, Diana and her two sisters, ended up being the talk of the town and they actually ended up running a brilliant enterprise, Elegant Occasions and it was thru this, how Diana met Geoffrey.
Self-made civil engineer Geoffrey Brookhouse unexpectedly inherited a dukedom of Greenwood. Because of his dad, Geoffrey now has a secret that could ruin his family. So, trying to save his timid sister Geoffrey seeks to arrange a marriage for her with a respectable gentleman. Geoffrey hires Elegant Occasions to orchestrate her debut and Lady Diana, the spirited fashion expert, proves to be more than he expected. Not only is Geoffrey’s sister emerging from her shell, and Diana needs to help her become more independent and look for a wonderful husband.
Although one thing Diana also realizes is she just might have to transform Geoffrey into a more presentable duke. However, Geoffrey realizes that Diana is a woman he would like to embrace for himself …..

A Duke for Diana is the first book in the Designing Debutantes series by Sabrina Jeffries and the first Sabrina Jeffries book I've had the opportunity to read. I am a sucker for regency era romance novels and the story between Geoffrey and Diana was no exception! I loved Diana's character. I loved how strong, independent and quirky she was, which I feel isn't customary to most female characters from that era. I look forward to reading the rest of the Designing Debutantes series!

This book starts a new series about a trio of sisters who create a business to help people succeed in society. Each sister has her own specialty, and I enjoyed the interaction between them. The romance itself was fine, but I did find myself more interested in the secondary characters at times. There is humor, but the book did not grab and keep my attention like most of the author's works do. I would still read the next book in the series.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own. Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher.
