Thoughts: This is the eighth installment in the Daisy’s Tea Garden cozy mystery series and it still entertains. You don’t have to have read the others in the series to get what’s going on, but it definitely helps in understanding the relationships of the people involved. The story takes place in Amish country, Pennsylvania and is true to the area with horses and buggies mingling with bikes and cars. The author does an excellent job of showing the differences between the Englishers (non-Amish) and the Amish even when mingling in the same community.

In this one, Daisy is struggling with the upcoming empty-next syndrome as her daughter Violet prepares to leave for college and her older daughter and family look into moving away from the apartment above Daisy’s garage. And then there’s Daisy’s relationship with her boyfriend Jonas and where that’s going. And Aunt Iris and her beaus. There is a lot going on in town beyond the murder. And as always, Daisy is right in the middle of it.

Daisy is looking for a statue of a Labrador dog for Jonas for his birthday—one that matches his own dog. The man she goes to, Rumple, is a strange little man, but she finds what she wants at his statuary. While she’s looking, he shows her expensive small statues in a safe so when he ends up dead a few days later, she wonders if it has anything to do with what he deals in.

Which it does…in a way. But not in the way she thinks. Suspects start adding up, but there’s no motive until she discovers it and breaks the case wide open—unfortunately for her as it puts her in the murderer’s crosshairs.

Recommendations: If you’ve read the other Tea Garden book, definitely pick this one up – especially for the surprise at the end! And if nothing else, the great recipes included in the books. If you haven’t read any of them, you’re missing a great series!

I am loving this series. It was great hanging out with Daisy, Jonas and the wonderful people of Willow Creek again. I love how these folks inner act with each other. I like how the Four Paws Animal Shelter was given a lot of attention. Shelters are always in need of assistance. I love all the animals in this story. I would love to go shopping in all the cool shops. After spending all my money, I would want to go to Daisy’s and sample all the delicious food that she and her crew prepare. You’ll find some recipes included. I can’t wait to go back and catch up with everyone. I received this book from NetGalley, but my opinion is my own.

I love this series, and this latest book did not disappoint. It may be my new favorite.
An older man in town, Mr. Rumple, is found deceased, killed while he was volunteering at the animal shelter. He was known as a quiet man, kept to himself, and seem to like animals better than humans. So who would want to harm him?
Daisy recently met Mr. Rumple when she went to buy a statue from him. She is equally perplexed as to who could have killed him. But, Daisy cannot resist a little sleuthing, and soon she has a list of possible suspects, but the motive is not very obvious. Can she put the pieces together before the killer finds out she is looking for them?
Great characters, even the canine ones. Loved the plot, and the ending was great. Awesome cozy mystery.
I received an advance copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.

Murder with Darjeeling Tea finds Daisy busy trying to figure out who killed Rumple, the owner of Statuary dead following a break-in at his cottage.

It was a great cozy mystery with enough twists and turns to keep you guessing until the very end. Can't wait to read more books by this author, great job!

Although I suggest you read this series in order to get the most from it, you can read this mystery all on its own. A mixture of Amish and Englisher culture, for the most part the community gets along. In this book we find that we may have more in common than people often think.

Daisy is struggling with some empty nest symptoms, even though her girls have not exactly left home yet. Change is on the horizon. She also has a beau with whom she wants to move to another level,
His birthday is coming and she wants to get him something , something meaningful.

The descriptive prose is wonderful, making settings and relationships as important and as enjoyable as the plot. Secrets abound and several mysteries intertwine. Danger also rears its ugly head!

A well crafted series that any mystery lover will enjoy.

Thank you to Netgalley and Kensington Publishers for the opportunity to read, enjoy and review this book. The opinions expressed are all my own.

Captures the essence of a southern grandma and a 1920's feel-good television show. The writing is beautiful, but the prose is not as striking as I know it could be. Towards the end of the book, the more fed up I got with Daisy, which wasn't the author's goal. The romance between Jonas and Daisy feels underdeveloped and juvenile. Overall, I was not completely sold.

Daisy Swanson is a fun character in this series by Karen Rose Smith.
This was an interesting cozy mystery surrounding the questionable death of a pet shelter volunteer.
There were plenty of suspects to choose from and I had fun chasing down the clues with Daisy.
I enjoyed the progression of her relationship with her boyfriend as well as with her daughter.

Plott-hound, cozy-mystery, murder, murder-investigation, family, family-dynamics, friendship, small-business, small-town, amateur-sleuth, Amish, law-enforcement, relationships, Pennsylvania, animal-shelter, ex-cop, greed, woodworker, pets****

Daisy is an Englisher in an Amish neighborhood, has many friends, an ex-cop/woodworker for a boyfriend, and operates a tea shop in their small town. A local man with an expensive business is found murdered behind the animal shelter and the matter is very puzzling to everyone. The core characters are all very nice (especially the Plott-hound), and while there are a few unpleasant visitors it is hard work for both Daisy and the local police to solve the crime. Good sleuthing with interesting twists and red herrings. Nice addition to a fine series.
I requested and received a free e-book from Kensington Books via NetGalley. Thank you.

This is a charming series that I have read from the beginning. Daisy and her family,, the tea shop and the morals of the people capture the reader in this Amish town . This is a family oriented series where people come first to all with kindness and consideration. Daisy is integral to the town as she is a friend and advisor to all.

The sleuth was intriguing and kept me guessing to conclusion. I loved the twist at the end the author included for her long time readers. Each new book in the series is charming and delightful. This is a series I highly recommend. The tea shop is a charming place for readers to spend time. We all wish we could live in Daisy's world so we are thankful to the author for continuing this wonderful series.
Thank you to the publisher and to Net Galley for the opportunity.

Murder And Mayhem..
The eighth in the Daisy’s Tea Garden series of mysteries finds Daisy knee deep in murder and mayhem once again. A thoroughly enjoyable and entertaining outing with a colourful cast of characters and a fun plot. Laced with plenty of humour and wise cracking commentary.

When the man Daisy buys a statue from is found murdered, she can’t help but wonder why anyone would kill him. His business seemed old school and he had a few pricey items under lock at his place, but why were they truly worth killing for?

While Daisy really has no skin in this game, she still can’t help asking a few questions. But when she attracts the attention of the murderer, she has to hope she won’t be joining the strange little man in the thereafter.

I adore this series. The Cats, the dogs, the people, the Amish and Mennonite, it all comes together so well. Each entry is a solid whodunit with lots of red herrings along the way. If you’re new to the series, you’ll enjoy having a bunch of books you can binge on too. This is a truly cozy cozy series.

Is he a man or a hobbit? Daisy Swanson is exploring Rumple’s Statuary, looking for a present for her boyfriend. The man’s home looks like it may have tumbled right out of the Shire and Wilhelm Rumple, in bare feet and overalls looks like a permanent resident. Unfortunately, Wilhelm’s personality is anything but friendly; he has a reputation for being a real stinker. After a break in at his home, the man is found dead and the problem isn’t finding a suspect, it’s whittling down the long list of locals who wanted hime dead. A nice cozy mystery, that was, at times, a bit too twee for me
