I think this is a sweet book great for kids about accepting our mistakes/accidents and making the most out of what you have. Love the illustrations and the message it contains

Beautiful, muted cottagecore colours. Soft and lush illustrations.

Great combination of simple language and some more challenging words and scientific language for the age group.

I love the story and the aesthetic.

This book has such beautiful illustrations! I absolutely adored each and every page, there was so much to look at. I thought Linn, Flori and Emi were so sweet, and loved all the pictures they painted of the garden, and of course Emi's picture of Flori!
The artwork for this book reminded me of some of the old books I used to read at my grandparents when I was little, and I think what made it more special is the fact that I used to help my grandparents garden as well. That really connected with me, and I think this would be a really lovely story for folks to gift and read with their grandchildren. I also think this is a great book for people with dogs who like to dig haha.

What stood out to me most about this story were the illustrations! The old-fashioned art style reminded me of the beautiful picture books I used to read when I was little--such a nostalgic wonderful trip to the past with this one.

I loved the story as an avid gardener--teaching children patience, control, and maybe even how to find hobbies!

I did think the font was a bit small which made it a little hard on my eyes to read, though it may be the fault of my iPad and might look totally different as a physical copy--just wanted to note.

I felt it a disappointment so much effort had been put into illustrating a book that just felt so dry. A decent girl wants to do the right thing and keep her grandfather's greenhouse and gardens spick and span and watered while he's in hospital for a spell, only for things to go badly wrong. Do I blame the translation for the stilted style, and the complete lack of necessary oomph when the 'twist ending' flops into view? I don't know. What I do know is the work on the visuals demanded much better accompaniment.

The cover drew me to this book instantly. It felt so classic - like story books I grew up with. It only got better as I continued reading. Also - I don't think we talk about endpaper enough and this book has the most BEAUTIFUL endpaper! I want it as a skirt!
The story was simple and sweet. A granddaughter helping her grandfather out by tending to his garden while he's in the hospital - with mixed results. Genuine and heartfelt, and exactly how my own gardening adventures have gone! Always remember that you can replant.

Thank you, North South Books Inc., for the advance reading copy.

This storybook just blew my mind regarding the pages filled with amazing, life like illustrations and the characters.

The story itself is so beautiful and heartwarming. It talks about a family teaching kids to be responsible when the family is facing difficult times. It focuses more on care and patience towards kids which I really appreciate.

You will be amazed how this little book brings you so much comfort and joy. I love the grandfather's plants too!

A heartwarming story about a little girl who takes care of her grandfather's garden when he has to stay in the hospital for a few days from a broken foot. The story covers various aspects of gardening and the responsibilities involved. I think children will love the illustrations and remain interested in the story allowing them to better understand the lessons Linn learns while tending her grandfather's garden.
Thank you Netgalley and North South Books Inc for the chance to read this eARC of In the Garden with Flori.
