I enjoyed this book. I loved that this was dual perspective and that it was depicting 2 Black people in the 1800s when they aren't shown much in period romances. I liked their voices and the building up to their love story. I also really enjoyed the other characters and their dynamics. I also really love this cover.

With each installment in this series, I fall a little more in love with the Wynchesters. They are hilarious, fierce in the pursuit of good, and the most lovely found family. Kuni, naturally, fit right in. She is Graham's perfect princess, even though she's not actually royalty. She had the most growing to do, coming to realize that her true purpose wasn't "be a guard" but "guard and protect people." But Graham had his own growth, too, coming to understand his royal fantasy to less rosy than he'd always believed. Both their interaction with the siblings were delightful, and I particularly liked seeing more of Marjorie and Elizabeth in this book. 5 hearty stars.

This is the third in the The Wild Wynchester's series. I love this found family. They are such an eclectic mix of personalities, skills and backgrounds.

Graham is a master of intelligence gathering and has been essential in both stories so far. I love him and his love language is definitely acts of service. I love his acrobatic background and how much he showed off for us in this book. Though his past is very traumatic like the others. They are lucky Vanderbean found them.

There are some coded messages and some visitors from Vanderbean's home country, Balcovia.

Kunigunde de Heusch is visiting England to gather information so she could prove herself worthy as a Royal Guardsman.

Graham and Kunigunde are drawn to each other but have very different motivations. Graham's obsession with royalty can be seen the wrong way. And Kunigunde needs to carry on her family's legacy and be better than her brothers.

Also, loved the case they took on! They couldn't get what they wanted the normal way so they went in as a team with their disguises. My favorite and helped those less fortunate.

Thank you to Netgalley and publisher for the arc of this book. Staci McIntyre wrote this review for her podcast/blog Lit Shit Podcast.

I actually hadn’t read any of the Winchester’s so was pleased to read this one. What I loved most was the fast pace even if the book was a bit long and humorous outlandish family was a delight . I loved the humor and unique characters including the siblings who are really fleshed out well. It did get a bit annoying that almost every time one of the main characters is mentioned it mentioned their race. We know they’re Black, there are other ways to flesh this out. However despite that I think Erica Ridley did a wonderful job incorporating Regency England for people of color in a way where we get the importance and changes being made but it doesn’t weigh too heavily and big down the storyline. I also think we could have cut out some of the repetition of the Graham and Kuni’s goals. Which would have helped with length. Would definitely read the next book!

I adored this book! Graham was my favorite Wynchester when I read The Perks of Loving a Wallflower so I was really excited to read his romance story. I thought Kuni was an excellent match for him and I loved how the story really dove into their histories, especially given their very different upbringings, and still gave us a Wynchester adventure to follow along with.

I’d consider this a lot more of a slow burn so it took me a bit to get into it. I also kind of got a little bored with Kuni constantly talking about how she had to follow her family tradition, it was just a smidge over emphasized for me, especially given how Graham had a similar feeling about his family and yet he only mentioned it a couple of times. It seemed like 98% of Kuni’s thoughts were consumed with becoming a Royal Guardswoman and it just felt so repetitive. (I absolutely understand that as a woman, she would be forced to deal with so much extra scrutiny than Graham for her life plans, but it still just felt like overkill.)

All in all I adored yet another Wynchester story and hope there are more to come!

Happy Pub Day to Nobody's Princess!

This is the third book in the Wynchester series by Erica Ridley and its so good! I definitely recommend reading the first two ahead of time because I felt a bit lost with the character backgrounds at times, but the writing is immaculate and I could fill in most blanks.

I recommend this book for those of you who enjoy Bridgerton and historical romances, love badass women working to pave the way, and a romance that seems doomed to start but is filled with overwhelming support.

My favorite part of this story was Kuni's dedication to her family's heritage and wanting to pave the way as a guard for herself but also for all women in her country--she's so badass!

It definitely took me a bit to get into the book, but I highly anticipate that changing if you've read the previous books in the series!

Oh those Wild Winchesters! Each member of this eccentric, come together family, possesses unique talents and abilities. This is Graham’s story. Graham is the spy and intelligence collector in the family and knows everything that goes on in London. He meets his soul mate Kuni when he seeks to rescue and protect the Princess from Balcovia. Only she didn’t need rescuing. She was just wanting to avoid her brothers, and prove to her family of her ability to be a part of the guard. Graham met his match in Kuni and she was a perfect fit for the Winchester family.
A great addition in this delightful series!

This was such a fun, humorous romp of a story! While the first two books in this series had quite a serious air to them at times, this book really dove into the fun side of the Wynchester family and their quirks. I felt like I got to know all the siblings even better, and the addition of the heroine from a foreign land was icing on top of the cake. She had to not only learn about society in England but also how the family operated. It was hilarious seeing her interactions with them, how her character changed over time as she saw another side to life and a way to have meaning in helping others. With two POC main characters, we also get a really unique and interesting perspective on race in British society at the time, and Erica Ridley also dropped facts about the slave trade that I hadn't thought about before. The FMC came from a country that seceded from its home country due to the slave trade, but even then things were not perfect, as the heroine would eventually open her eyes to. Overall it was a really engaging read, and I most certainly will keep on reading this series to see more of the Wynchester antics.

All Graham Wynchester ever wanted in life was to be recognized for his important work, preferably by royalty and, with any luck, through rescuing a princess. He thought he found his opportunity when he stumbled across Kunigunde de Heusch, and in helping her flee the attentions of royal guardsmen, he brought her into his home for safekeeping. However, Kuni was no princess but rather a companion to her country's princess, and she was adamantly opposed to anyone saving her. Kuni's mission was to become a Royal Guardswoman, the first in Balcovia, and she didn't need a man's assistance, no matter how handsome and charming he may be. Staying in Graham's home is a necessity for now, but as time passes, she becomes more attached to his siblings...and to him. However, her life in service leaves no room for a husband, and she must eventually return to Balcovia, leaving Graham behind. They must take comfort in each other while they can, until they let go to allow each other to fulfill their destinies. Unless their destinies change course...

Graham was an absolutely delight throughout the book, although I'll say his obsession with royalty was a bit overzealous at times. What I loved was how the author gradually explained to the reader why he was so obsessed, and it began to make sense and bring out sympathy for what he went through as a child. Every Wynchester child has some backstory that is quite sad, but Graham's really tugged at my heart. When he met Kuni, he thought perhaps life was finally giving him what he had long desired, and even though it wasn't in the way he originally wanted, he eventually realized she was exactly what he needed all along. Kuni was quite a bit harder to convince, however, since she had tunnel vision for most of the book. It was very difficult for her to see other paths in life besides becoming a guardswoman, and even with the draw that came from being among the Wynchesters and helping them with their missions, she took almost the entire book to realize where her heart was urging her to remain. This made their chemistry at times not as close as I would have liked, but by the end of the story, I was almost in tears. Have your tissues ready, folks.

I'm so excited to see which Wynchester gets their happily ever after next. All of them have captured my heart, and it was so good to see the couples from the first two books again. Particularly Tommy and Philippa...they still hold a special place in my heart.

This book was exactly what I needed. It was a fun, historical romp that was just an easy breezy read. This is the third book in the Wild Wynchesters series, but each of the books can be read as a standalone. In this one, Graham Wynchester tracks down Kuni thinking she is a royal princess and attempts to rescue her, but she does not need rescuing. Kuni is on a mission to become the first woman admitted as a royal guard and is trying to prove her strength and independence. Kuni is enchanted by Graham and his siblings and the group begins to work together to right the wrongs that are happening around them.

Like I said, this book was just a fun read. It was fast paced and while at times the side plots sidelined the romance, I was so engrossed in the story that it didn’t bother me. I read the book in essentially one sitting due to how easy it was to read. I really liked both Graham and Kuni. I liked that both appreciated the other for exactly who they were without trying to change them. I loved that we got to have to have two Black leads in a historical romance. I also enjoyed Graham’s siblings as side characters. This was a very slow burn romance, but that didn’t really bother me because I read the book so quickly. I have read the second book in the series, but really need to go back and read the first book to see where it all started.

Absolutely charming! Once again, Erica Riley has crafted a funny, effervescent, and swoony historical romance. I can't get enough of the Wynchester family and thoroughly enjoyed Kuni and Graham's story.

I enjoyed this book. The story was fun and engaging and I found the characters likable. Graham and Kunigunde romance was slow burning and frankly I would have loved to see some more sparks from the two of them because I did feel there was a decided lack of them. Still, overall, I thought it was an entertaining read that offered diversity and offered a very admirable and fierce female lead character.

2.5 - 3 stars

While I enjoyed the first two Wild Wynchester books, this one was a bit of a miss for me.

What I enjoyed:
-The sibling dynamics. I really do love the Wynchesters and how eclectic and diverse they are, and how their greatest wish is to help people. I also appreciated that we got to see more of Marjorie and Elizabeth in this one.
-Kuni’s growth. Her whole life, she’d been single-minded in her desire to become the first Royal Guardswoman and honour her ancestors while also forging a path for future generations. She’d lived a lonely, isolated, sheltered life, and knew very little about the world outside the palace walls. Being with the Wynchesters taught her so much about life, family, and love, and that sometimes what you thought you wanted isn’t actually the right thing at all.

What didn’t work for me:
-The pacing. This book was so slow and there was too much going on. I had trouble getting into it and I never felt fully invested because I was bored and didn’t particularly care about what was happening. I ended up skimming big chunks and don’t feel like I missed anything.
-The romance. I wish we’d seen more of Graham and Kuni together. I didn’t feel the chemistry between them, and I wasn’t invested in them as a couple. I enjoyed Kuni’s interactions with the other Wynchesters more than her interactions with Graham.

Don’t call her Princess!

The Wild Winchester’s are back and busy saving those in need…

Kunigunde de Heusch does not need saving. Kuni has stowed away on a voyage to London in order to preform reconnaissance for her King and prove her right to be in a Royal Guardsmen…

Graham Wynshester is on the hunt for a princess and believes he found her in Kunigunde. But her need to prove herself and his need to rescue puts them at odds as their attraction pushes them together.

This slow burn romance unfolds as they accept whom the other is and the limitations of their time together.

I loved finally getting Graham’s back story and his attempts to woo Kuni within the boundaries she creates for them. Kuni was a strong willed heroine who didn’t have time for love. I love when those characters finally fall!

Overall, I love the Winchester’s and their antics as a whole but did wish there was more romance and less rescues and reconnaissance.

Thanks to Forever Publishing for my finished copy. Opinions are my own.

I just love this family so much- The Wynchesters are just amazing. Graham we have seen in previous books and love him for his skills and love for his family. Kuni is just a badass lady who you end up loving as well. These two are so cute together - working and figuring out how to be separate but also together. We get some good drama and crime/issue solving with this crew and they all bring their talents. Its so fun to see all the siblings again.
Another great romance in this series! Its a slow slow slow burn but so worth it!

It's stiff competition, but the Wild Wynchesters is probably my favorite historical romance series. It's Graham's turn for love in this one, and Kunigunde de Heusch is everything that fits perfectly with him and his family, everything he didn't expect, and Kunigunde herself can't see a way through to being with Graham when all she's ever wanted is to be a Royal Guard back in Balcovia. As always, the Wynchesters are on a mission to help those who aren't being served by traditional channels, and Kuni joins them in a quest for better rights for factory workers. It's got great chemistry not just between Graham and Kuni but also with the rest of the family, and it's very warm, while also being very socially aware.

Erica Ridley never fails to tell a compelling story. The Winchesters are full of wild and crazy big personalities and Nobody's Princess is no different. Vibrant and alive and full of fun.

The couple in this one were compelling from page one and I loved seeing where the tale took them. The banter, the tension, the adventure, It was all thrilling.

I can't wait to see what comes next for this unconventional family.

The Wynchesters are known for helping others. They all have their own talents and have always been able to work together. Graham is known for his intelligence so when he starts following a series of coded messages through scandal sheets and newspapers, he feels he needs to rescue a royal princess. Kunigunde de Heusch is definitely not a damsel in distress, she is in fact using her training to be a Royal Guardsmen and plans to become the first Guardswoman. With that in mind, she is in London to prove herself worthy of the job by getting all the information needed for the princess to come there in a couple months. She is also avoiding getting caught by her brothers who think she can’t succeed. As Graham thinks he is rescuing her, he soon learns that isn’t the case and that he has met a fierce competitor. What do they learn from each other and will they be able to say goodbye when she needs to go back home.

Oh how I love the Wynchesters! I really want to be an honorary one! I didn’t love this as much as Tommy and Philippa’s story but I still thoroughly enjoyed it! I really liked Kuni and how strong and independent she was. I love how welcoming and caring the Wynchesters are and how thoroughly they brought Kuni into their fold. It was really great to see how she formed friendships with his siblings. I love this found family!

Graham and Kuni had more of a slow burn relationship but it was worth it in the end. I absolutely loved the ending and how they ended up together. I really appreciated the decision Kuni came to about helping others instead of the Royals. I’m sure it’d be nearly impossible to leave the Wynchesters once you’ve spent time with them.

The third book in the Wild Wynchesters series another great story. This is Graham Wynchester and Kunigunde de Heusch's story, that so far is my favorite in this series. I enjoyed seeing these two slowly make their way to a happy ending. She was one strong woman and he was just the man she needed in her life. I would recommend. I received a copy of this book via NetGalley and am voluntarily leaving a review

I have been looking forward to Graham Wynchester's story since the start of this series. It did not disappoint although it felt a little padded for length at times in the middle. The story is full of strong individuals with a sense of justice and looking out for others. If you need a solution to a problem, the Wynchester family will come to your aide, especially if you don't have any money. In this case Graham comes to Kuni's rescue one night when she's evading her brothers. We also have a case of a mill community being abused by the mill's owner. This story was delightful.

Graham has been commissioned to gather intelligence about the safety of the royal palace. With his network of contacts all over the city he's ideal for that report. While out and about one night he notices a young woman obviously trying to escape the notice of two men in foreign uniforms. He quickly comes to her aide and provides a diversion so she can get to his "safe house".

Kunigunde de Heusch is the daughter of a guardsman to Balcovian King. Her two older brothers are guardmen and she trained alongside them all her life. She is determined to be the first female guardman and be the personal protector of the princess. She's grown up with the princess and together they've had this planned. Her family has a long heritage as guardsmen. She stole away on the ship from home when her brothers set out to gather intel in preparation for the royal visit in a few months. Kuni is determined to provide her own report without help to get her foot in the door for the guard competition coming up when she returns home. She refuses Graham's help with her report but does accept the families hospitality while she's there. This starts an adventure where Kuni's plans for the future take a turn as she gets involved with the Wynchesters and their capers.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced readers copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
