I was expecting a rom-com based on this cover although there is some romance it was just an okay read. I was not expecting the book to go to some dark areas like suicide and depression. I got bored and it felt repetitive in some areas. Unfortunately the ending felt flat for me we don’t get a happily ever after it just kinda just hangs there with the possibility of a happily ever after in the future.

Oh, Nora, you're lucky I like books about books because it took a while to warm up to you and even then we were just tepid. Overall, I was underwhelmed with this one, but I don't regret reading it. do with that information what you will.

This was an interesting story, but not one of my favorites. Nora (main character) was sometimes hard to relate to. It is more than just a romance, as it takes on some serious topics. It’s well written but just had some parts that did not hold my attention, making it hard to pay attention to the audio book.

2.5 stars. While I enjoyed the overall premise of the plot it was very difficult to root for the main character. I liked how there was a focus on mental health, however, it didn't feel consistent throughout the story. It was hard to understand the main character's motivations or feel any chemistry between our hero and heroine.

This book had too much going on. I loved the idea of the story, but it was just messy. There were too many characters with too many back stories that didn't make sense. The characters also didn't really make sense together. Just not a fan overall

I wanted to love this book, but it was a DNF for me. Too slow and overall disappointing.

Thank you to Netgalley and the author for my advanced copy in exchange for an honest review.

I enjoyed the dynamic between Nora and Andrew. Generally speaking, I like books that fall into the "books for book lovers" category, and this does fit the bill.

I did find myself rooting for Nora, but yes, she definitely got herself into situations! Some funny, some stressful. Mental health issues are threaded throughout this book, which may be difficult for some folks to read, so I recommend checking for content warnings, just in case.

I didn't find the pacing particularly slow or fast, I would say it was medium-paced. Andrew was a stand-out for me, in the book.

Nora is searching for her dream job in publishing. She takes a job to help her get there but then they decrease her salary. Now she has to figure out how she will pay rent. Enter a new publishing house and Andrew. Now she is in a jam because she isn’t telling the truth. I enjoyed the story and Nora’s growth as a character.

As I listened to the audiobook, I found it went pretty well for my first time using the NetGalley audiobook system. I think my major flaw would have to be the book itself, unfortunately. I just could not grasp the characters like I thought I would when I had initially requested this. It felt slow at some parts, and then too fast at others. There was no real connection, so it was more of a wash for me.
But, the audiobook was a delight and I loved listening to it while sewing or crocheting.

Nora gets a pay cut at Parsons Press and lies to get a part time job for a competing publishing company. While this is happening, Andrew Santos, an author for Parsons, gets caught up in this mess. This book showed how real mental health issues are for people. I enjoyed the book. I love a good book about books! They are fun to read. Thank you to NetGalley and OrangeSky Audio for this ARC in exchange for my honest review.

I wanted to love it. What book lover doesn't love a book about books/publishing?!

Overall, it was too slow and I couldn't get into the characters. I wanted more romance, but was given women's fiction.

Must Love Books was not what I was expecting, and ultimately that worked in it's favor. I went in expecting it to be heavy on the romance, and while it did have a strong romance plot, it was more women's fiction than romance in some spots. I would argue that while Nora's relationship with Andrew is important, Nora's self discovery outside of the relationship is even more central to the story.

As an ex worker for an online library I felt and odd connection to the main character. I feel like in this industry, being online or offline in libraries, people tend to be overworked and underestimated. Anyway, the book was good. I liked the plot and the fact that the author showed us so much insights from the job of the main character.

Ugh I wanted to love this book, I did. It had all the makings of something special. Unfortunately I barely made it through. It was predictable, boring, and overall disappointing.

This heartwarming novel narrates the life story of Nora who is struggling to find a perfect life. I could relate to Nora in so many ways. The story really goes deep and handles some very serious themes.

Nora is a poor editorial assistant at Parsons Press, wishing that her job is something that it didn't end up being. Staff has been let go, leading to her now being both overworked and underpaid and she is having trouble making ends meet. She meets Andrew, who is a bestselling author that everyone at Parsons wants to keep, who Nora is both falling for as well as trying to keep at Parsons for his next book.

Themes:
-Mental health
-Growing up
-Balancing career and life

Overall thoughts:
This book had a great premise, poor girl unhappy in her career that she thought would turn into her dream job (something I'm sure many of us can relate to...), but I just really struggled to get into the story. I wasn't invested in Nora or Andrew, slightly invested in their relationship, and spent most of the book frustrated at the horrible decisions Nora made.

Overall, it wasn't a bad read, but I wanted to be more invested in the story. 3/5

Trigger warnings:
-Suicidal thoughts

Loved the bookish feels in this one! Definitely recommending to all my friends! The characters are so witty and the setting is divine! I knew by the title I was going to love it and I was not disappointed

What a good story. I loved Nora and Andrew together. I thought the banter back and forth between the two was something magical. I know that Nora was working her way through something big and that is why I didn't really feel this was romance.

This books dealt with depression in a big way. Do I think Nora made some good decisions, NOT AT ALL. all the manipulation and lying was something else. I had to keep reminding myself that Nora was really going through some major life changes, some drama, and lots of mental struggles.

This wasn't what I was expecting so I think it was a 3.5 star book for me.

The narrator was great but trying to deal with the depression and suicidal thoughts is always difficult in audio.

Thank you to NetGalley and OrangeSky Audio for providing an audio arc in exchange for an honest review.

While this book has appeal for many book lovers - a romantic plot line involving an author and a woman who works in the literary world - it offers very little in terms of plot and, what is offered, is lacklustre, often falling apart before any real climactic scene can come.

Much reference is made to the main character's race and mental health and yet nothing ever really comes of either. Similarly, there seems to be a push towards her working in a non=profit and yet this too dwindles before any explanation or realisation can come.

Ultimately, there is little to criticise as little happens and drama is quickly sorted or swept under the table. A lacklustre novel which will not be remembered.

Five years ago when Nora landed a job at Parsons Press a publishing company she thought she had made it. This was the stuff dreams are made of. Now Parson's is cutting budgets like crazy which includes her already tiny salary and the work just keeps piling on. In order to keep paying her rent, Nora takes a second job at Webber, another publishing company and for once life seems to be going really well! But when a most coveted author gets thrown in the mix Nora must decide not only where her loyalties are but how long will she lie to those she cares about.

What I liked about this book what how much it hit home. Nora has what she always thought would be her dream job, but after five years there has been no promotions no matter how hard see works but rather her pay gets cut and the work load gets higher. This is a reality that all to many people are seeing right now. Nora always feels like she has to hide parts of herself and isn't allowed to make a stand for herself and the direction that she wants her life to go. It takes hard lessons for her to not only understand this but to put in into action which causes her to lose out on people who were once part of her life. It is all these things that cause her to have an identity crisis and not know who she is anymore.

I related to Nora on a scary level and have often felt like this in my own life as of late which just makes this book that much better.

The one thing I will say I didn't like was the cover art doesn't seem to fully match the story. It makes it look way more Rom-Com instead of a story about self-discovery.
