This book was really what I needed during this time. I was in a slump and this pulled me right in and didn’t let me go. The storytelling was just lovely and the characters have stayed with me since I finished reading it. I just highly recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a good book.

Absolutely beautiful book, was enraptured from start to finish. Was a little upset about two thirds through as to what the outcome might be, but thank goodness for wonderful endings.
Can’t wait to read another book by Amanda James

The Forgotten Beach, while the third in a series, is a book that can be read on its own. Set in Cornwall England, it is a heartwarming story of love lost and love found. Both Sennen, a local artist, and Tremaine, a London lawyer, have been burnt in the past and thus have trust issues but the attraction between them is undeniable. From two different worlds, it seems impossible that anything beyond a friendship could happen. However, they share a secret history of ancestors who loved each other but were denied that love due to social class rules and expectations. Sennen knows of a magical cup, related to a poem written by Tremaine’s great- great-grandmother which tells of your one true love and soul mate, buried in a cave on the forgotten beach below the great house. While it was Sennen’s original intent to find the magical parting cup, she didn’t bargain for falling for the lord of the manor. Not a lot of tension in this romance story and it seems to flow along flawlessly with not a lot of bumps usually expected. However, the characters are likeable and the storyline gives you hope that you can find love that will last forever. A very quick read, this is one to make you smile.

Many thanks to #netgalley #theforgottenbeach #onemorechapter for the opportunity to read and review this book.

This is a wonderfully written book, set in different timelines. It moved seamlessly between the different times. I loved reading about the mystery surrounding the past and this Beach. It was very engaging and intriguing.
I loved the setting of Cornwall, I love visiting there and enjoy reading books that are set there. The House and its private Beach and a mystery to be loved made it stand out from other books that I have read which are set in Cornwall.
I will definitely be reading the next book in the series.

This is the second book I’ve read in the Cornish Escapes series and it didn’t disappoint. A heartwarming story about a forgotten treasure, secrets from the past and once in a lifetime love. It also makes you wanna visit Cornwall as soon as possible.

I got this arc in exchange for an honest review.

Romantic novels are not my usual genre of choice because I am too aware of how cliched they can be. Yes you always know the outcome but it is the journey there that is important.

I thoroughly enjoyed The Forgotten Beach. The characters were of course, physically beautiful and Tremaine was very rich but somehow all the characters were relateable and I cared about them.

My thanks to Netgalley for this opportunity.

The Forgotten Beach is book #3 in the Cornish Escapes series. I would characterize this book as Women’s Fiction/General Fiction/Romance.

This book was an enjoyable read. The characters are well defined and interesting in their own right. This was a fast easy read. I would suggest though that you read the first two books prior to reading book #3.

Thank you to #netgalley and #harpercollinsuk, onemorechapter. All opinions expressed above are my own.

Oh, Amanda James, you have once again written a wonderful book. This one was absolutely fabulous.

Sennen Kellow is a local artist and shop owner. She is given a poem that her grandmother had written, there is a secret beach local to her. The only way to get to it is through the grounds of an old property, when her curiosity finally gets the better of her, Sennen decides to have a look and see what she can find out.

This is where she meets the rather abrupt, aloof and brusque owner of the property. A London lawyer who isn't exactly charming, but does grant her a tour of the house and grounds. Not wanting to discuss why she actually has an interest in visiting as he doesn't appear to be very open or pleasant.

The author has woven a tale that spans the generations and gives a wonderful account of families of the past. A time when money and status were paramount and marriage for love was worth nothing. The story gradually emerges and it is one that has some wonderful heartwarming moments as well as moments marred by grief.

While the situation for Sennen is intriguing, the author twists a wonderful comparison between the past and the present. It drew me further into the story and at times left me nervously turning the pages wondering if history would repeat itself.

I loved this sense of tension and the uncertainty that the author injects into this story. Using the past and the present, with mystery and romance and then twisting certain things to create a captivating story.

This is one for readers who love to read a contemporary fiction style story, that has echoes of the past, with a complicated and not necessarily straightforward romantic angle. I have to say this is a fabulous read and I loved to see mentions of characters from other books mentioned. While this is part of a series, you could read this as a standalone. But, if you did you would miss out on some wonderful storytelling from one of my favourite authors.

A cracking read from the first to the last page and also the author's notes add a wonderful touch at the end. I would definitely recommend this book.

This is the perfect summer read. I loved the setting, Cornwall somewhere I would love to visit,

This is essentially a feel good romance but one which has lots of interesting characters, the past and the present beautifully intertwined in the age old story of hope and acceptance that we can not be in control of everything in our lives.

I read a lot of thrillers but sometimes a book such as this which left me with a smile is just what the doctor ordered

Thank you to netgalley and the publisher for the chance to read this feel good book.

This touching romance is ideal to relax with on a sunny beach, especially if you are heading towards Cornwall.
Both Sennen and Tremaine have emerged from broken relationships, so when they meet they are wary, hurt and vow not to trust their hearts to another relationship.
Tremaine has a high power legal job in London and has recently bought his old family home, Nancarrow, which is in need of renovation but has access to its own private beach. As Sennen follows clues from her late Grandmother, she discovers family secrets and links to Nancarrow.
This story has engaging characters and a fantastic setting.

A romantic story with connections to the past. Set in Cornwall but away from the busy tourist areas the book evokes some of the true spirit of the rugged Cornish coast. A slightly predictable plot with the eventual outcome as there is some of the usual misunderstandings and trauma along the way. Good main and peripheral characters who develop over the course of the book and help to make the book quite engaging. Some emotional passages add to the atmosphere overall making this an ideal holiday read.

Though the third book in the Cornish Escapes series, it is only the second one I’ve read. It can be read as a standalone. And both books were really good. The characters are well developed and will have you so invested in the story, you won’t want to put the book down. I loved the bit of mysticism that flowed through the story line. This book was an exploration in growth, self discovery, love, support of family and friends, and a fun mystery. Though a romance, it was a pleasure watching Sennen and Tremaine face their past and develop individually as well as together in their relationship. I can’t say enough good things about this story. You need to put it on your to-be-read list!

As I live in Cornwall, I read a lot of books that are set in this beautiful county and am often disappointed and wish I hadn't. Thankfully this was not the case with The Forgotten Beach, which I thoroughly enjoyed.

A heartwarming cozy romance with interesting characters, a gorgeous setting (obviously!) and a nice mix of past and present. An ideal summer read.

This is the first book I've read by Amanda James but it definitely won't be the last!

Thank you to NetGalley for the advance copy in return for an honest review.

The Forgotten Beach, by Amanda James, is the story of Sennen Kellow, a young Cornish artist and shopkeeper. Sennen’s Mum shares the story of her grandmother, Morweena, and her love with young aristocratic pilot Jory Nancarrow before meeting her grandfather. Sennen also learns, in a poem left by her grandmother, about a secret sea cave and a magical chalice hidden within.

On the heels of a breakup from her cheating boyfriend, Sennen learns the Nancarrow mansion is being refurbished by the family heir. She becomes taken by her grandmother’s story and snoops about the property while her parent’s neighbor is working on the exterior. When her excursion onto the property results in an encounter with the great nephew of her grandmother’s love, she simplifies the story she was told and says she was curious to see where her Gran had delivered pastries so long ago.

With further chance meetings, the story of her grandmother may just become the forerunner to her own story. With delightful, well drawn characters, a moodily romantic setting, and a wonderfully woven plot marrying past to present, Ms. James has created another excellent story. I very much enjoyed this book and I do recommend it!

This was such a delightful story! I enjoyed the way it had different timelines, but it still wasn't hard to follow. with I loved the different characters in this too. I found the secondary characters added a great deal to the story and made me smile while reading. The setting was so cozy and I liked the way the romance was developed throughout. I recommend this one!

This was really good read. The book follows Sennen who owns a small business in Cornwall. She finds out about her Grandmother, a secret beach and the parting glass. She starts digging into the past and in doing so meets the rich and gorgeous Tremaine. Wonderful descriptions of the Cornish coast. I really enjoyed getting to know the characters and while it seemed to go rather smoothly for a romance there is a twist at the end.

4.5⭐️

Thank you to One More Chapter, Amanda James, and Netgalley for a gifted copy in exchange for an honest review.

I actually REALLY enjoyed this book! I haven’t read the other two in this series, so I was a little unsure before I got started, but it was really good! I enjoyed the two timelines and getting glimpses into past love stories that lead to current day events. I found the characters to be likeable, and there was character development which is nice! There is nothing worse than a character that doesn’t learn and grow.

This is a story of hope and acceptance. It’s about taking a chance and accepting that not everything will work out the way you want it to. It is one that brings two different worlds together and continues a tradition much closer to the main characters than they even realized!

I would definitely read more in this series and like the writing and style of the author. If you’re looking for an adventurous love story consider this one!!!

The Forgotten Beach by Amanda James is the most delightful contemporary novel that I just could not put down. It totally warmed my heart.
The novel is set in Cornwall - a landscape of artists, rugged cliffs and crumbling houses. It is a romantic backdrop with wild weather, smugglers caves and hidden coves. It is an area that begs to be explored.
Parallel to the elements is an old family house. It has been forgotten and neglected and is in need of renovation.
Likewise, there are characters who need bringing back to life after being dealt blows. As the house becomes more habitable, lives begin to live again.
An old photograph and a poem hint of an old legend and artefacts to be found. Romance is in the air. Tragedy has struck in the past but we are not destined to repeat the past – or are we? Love has travelled down the years, remaining to touch the next generation.
All the characters are wonderfully drawn. There is a beautiful bond of the leading lady with her grandmother, nothing will ever separate them.
The Forgotten Beach was positively delightful. It fired my imagination, put love in my heart and left me smiling.
