Good food, friends and finding love. What more could I ask for in a book. I have begun to enjoy the small town romance novels and this fit the bill. Serenity was a nurse and she had these amazing dinner gatherings with her girlfriends and I wanted to eat every last dish she prepared. Then you throw in handsome Gabriel and he was a dream come true for Serenity. Their relationship was sweet but the book started to drag towards the end. I feel like the last five chapters could have been eliminated and it still would have been a great book. Thank you to NetGalley and publisher for the opportunity to read this ARC.

Serenity cooks for her friends regularly at her place in a small town. Her friends call it Serenity’s Supper Club. One of her friends moved away for a career opportunity. The friend’s brother, Gabriel moved to replace his sister in the small town to watch over their elderly family member. Serenity and Gabriel got off on the wrong foot. Gabriel was invited to the Supper Club and that was the beginning of a relationship with Serenity.

If you are a foodie who enjoys romance, this book is definitely for you. Serenity is a nurse by day and amazing chef and baker in her time off. Gabriel is a computer coder who runs a company with his best friends. At the start of the book we meet Serenity and her amazing group of girlfriends who get together often for “Supper Club” dinners. One of Serenity’s best friends is moving and she asks Serenity to help out her city boy brother who is coming to town to take her place and help keep an eye on their Grandma. Initially Gabriel and Serenity have a few upsetting encounters, but things start to get interesting the more time they spend together. I loved all the characters in the Supper Club (and Gabriel’s friends too), and really hope this is a beginning of a series where we’ll get to know this group of friends better. I received an ARC from netgalley, and this is my honest review.

"A Table for Two" was a very good read by Sheryl Lister. This was not my first book from this amazing author, but the read carried a little different for me than previous reads of hers. I enjoyed Serenity and Gabriel's story because they are truly relatable characters.

This story shows great examples of family and friendships and the journey to new love after difficult situations in previous ones. The many faucets of relationships were displayed in this read. It also showed the ups and downs of small town living. 😫

Serenity was healing from past relationship trauma and Gabriel was doing the same. They both were reluctant to take a chance, but this read showed that the heart wants what it wants and it's hard to deny the heart's call.

The friendship aspect of this read was amazing and the family ties were also great. I often fussed about the couple reluctance to face their fate, but it worked out beautifully. Gabriel was a true gentleman and always did sweet things for Serenity and their relationship allowed healing for both. Gram was a wonderful addition, her spunk was awesome.

I truly hope we see what happens next for the rest of Serenity's Supper Club members and how the lives of these amazing people progress. I am truly a fan of series and sequel stories. I often become so invested in my book families. I will give this book a four star because it did drag at times, but Ms. Lister's writing is always done beautifully.

Thank you to Forever (Grand Central Publishing) for offering a copy of this book in exchange for an unbaised and through review NetGalley.

Where has Sheryl Lister been all this time?

Ok ok, so I am, admittedly, not a romance reader (I'm well more versed in thriller/suspense), so forgive me for coming late to this party. But when Forever offered this one up for a read, I had to try it. Foodies? Small town beachy vibes? Reluctance to fall in love? It sounded so unbelievably cute and maybe the perfect introduction to the genre!

And while there was a *little* too much moaning and groaning over food, I don't think I've enjoyed a book this much in awhile. The characters were all so likable (come on, the love interest doting on his sweet Nana??), and the storyline just so wholesome and sweet (quite literally--the food sounded delicious. And there are recipes at the end!!), that I'm kind of rethinking my reluctance to get involved with romance books.

Thank you to Forever (Grand Central Publishing) for offering a copy of this book in exchange for a review through NetGalley. I'll be looking for more of Lister's books after this one.

Never Give Up

A Table for Two started slow for me. Even in the small town of Firefly Lake fear is real, Serenity Wheeler and Gabriel Cunningham are both. dealing with fear. Gabriel a self-proclaimed work alcoholic so as to not deal with his fear, while Serenity cooks exotic meals for her BFFs and neighbors, and plays auntie to a precious child. The loyalty between Gabriel and his boys is as strong as the loyalty between Serenity and her BFFs.

With fear, distrust, nosey neighbors, and small-town gossip take the ride with Serenity and Gabriel as they try to get to A TableforTwo.

Serenity Wheeler is a nurse who shows her feelings through her love of cooking wonderful meals for her friends monthly at what they call Serenity Dinner Club.
Gabriel Cunningham is a computer coder who is a die hard foodie!!!
Gabriel moves to Firefly California to look after his grandmother, but has no plans on staying longer than necessary. Starting a relationship with his sexy relationship isn't in his plans either.
However, as hard as they both try to fight the attraction and growing feelings for one another, it's impossible.
I absolutely love the chemistry between Serenity and Gabriel. Their slow burning romance made room for the mention of so much awesome sounding food, that I found myself wanting to try just about everything mentioned in the story. I also want to know more about Gabriel and Serenity's friends and I sincerely hope that Sheryl Lister will gift us with their stories.

I really enjoyed this book! It was sweet and romantic, and it hooked me from the very first chapter.

Gabriel is a big city boy who finds himself in a small town, caring for his Nana, while his sister finds her place in the world. Serenity is the girl next door with a heart of gold and culinary skills to envy. Both have been burned in the past, and both are gun-shy about seeking a new relationship. They start out as neighbors who enjoy a good meal...work their way toward friendship...and then get frightened before deciding to take the plunge into a real relationship. What will happen next? Will Gabriel be satisfied with this small town life, or does he ache for the big city?

Sheryl Lister us one of my favorites so I was highly anticipating this book. Table for two is a heartwarming and sexy tale about what happens when you let go of hurt and make room for love. It’s filled with a cast of characters who are equal parts intriguing and endearing, hope to see more novels set in Firefly Lake in the future.

Ok, I do believe I've found myself a new romance author to follow.
Because Sheryl Lister did a number on me while reading this new novel of hers.

I really enjoyed reading about Serenity and Gabriel, they had a chemistry that just burned the pages up.
A Table for Two was just so much fun and interesting.
Sheryl really pulled me in from the very first pages and never let me go.
This was hard to put down as I was completely invested in the characters and where the journey would lead them.
It's a perfect story in a beautiful setting with an amazing cast of characters I couldn't help but love them all.
Plus who wouldn't love to have friends and get togethers around a table full food.
