A mix between a graphic novel and a reader with brightly colored illustrations and some light humor. There are lots of dinosaur books and this one didn't stand out from the crowd for me.

I love the contrast between the idea of tea parties and dinosaurs. These tend to carry very different vibes so I was interested to see what Smith would do with it. The story is pretty straightforward and the illustrations are cute.

This was just okay. I liked the idea of not assuming dinosaurs want to do only dinosaur things, they can do whatever they please. The illustrations were bright, but the pages were so busy, they felt chaotic when I was reading it.

Tyra and Tops aren't like the other dinosaurs. They love playing music and dancing instead of roaring and raging. As you might imagine, this doesn't go over well with "the others."

Luckily they discover that the best way to be able to enjoy their hobbies is to encourage the other dinos to explore their own hidden talents.

A fun and funny book that should delight young dino lovers. With delightful, cartoony illustrations (and an awesome color palette) by the author.

Tyra and Tops are dinosaurs, and everyone knows dinosaurs only rage and roar...right? But these two are a little different. Tyra loves to dance and Tops adores the trumpet. At first they try to share their hobbies with the other dinos, but they just don't get it. Can Tyra and Tops ever find a way to be themselves? And are their other dinos with hidden talents?

This is a great book for readers ready to transition from picture books to chapter books. It's still formatted like a picture book and is full of vivid, detailed illustrations, but it's longer and fairly text-heavy so it bridges the gap well. The story is lively and relatable for young kids and includes rhymes and rich vocabulary to enhance literacy skills. This would be a great addition to early elementary school and classroom libraries.

Many thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for the opportunity to read and review!

One hilarious book you need to read and own in your bookshelf. While usual dinosaurs wrecked havoc, these two had their own way to be themselves. It is refreshing to read something out of the blue but nicely written and illustrated.

This book is adorable. Dinosaurs. Who doesn’t love them! This book had a great message. It provides a lesion encouraging kids to be themselves, to not be afraid to do that. I love that! I read it to my kid. Good message.

Omg!!! The cutest books about dinosaurs that I have read so far. The message of this book is spot on. Tops and Tyra love what they do and continue to do what they love despite what the other dinosaurs think. An excellent book to encourage children to follow their own dreams and passion. Do what you love!!

My kids loved all the different dinosaurs in this book. We read it together and then talked about how everyone is different, and have different skills. Tea Time for Dinosaurs is a great book to help kids who feel picked on, or feel different than their peers.

I read this with my young readers group ages 4 and 5 the other day and they had fun with it! Afterwards they were able to have their own little tea party with coloring cookies and some juice! The illustration's are colorful and detailed! The words are easy enough that the kids could read with me. They laughed and found the details of the different dinosaurs interesting!

This was a cute book. It has cute pictures and my kid loved reading it. We had a hard time reading it on the Netgalley shelf and Kindle due to the layout provided. I hope it isn't like that upon being made available for downloading.

This fun and hilarious picture book tells the story of two dinosaurs who do not fit in or meet dino stereotypes. Tyra likes to dance and Tops loves to play music, but when asked to ROAR and do other things that "normal dinosaurs" do, they would just prefer to have a tea party, something that does not go over well with other dinosaurs.... at first! This book is all about breaking norms or not fitting in the mould and not being afraid to do what you love and express who you truly are. I can definitely see this book becoming a fan favourite and look forward to purchasing a copy for my Grade 3 classroom library. I would recommend this book to parents and teachers of children in the 4-9 age range. It would be perfect for shared reading and read alouds, with the text being simple enough that beginning readers might enjoy practicing their reading skills while having a fun time reading this book. I so appreciate Netgalley and the publisher for giving me an opportunity to read and review an advance copy of this awesome book!

I hope this is a new series!
Tea Time for Dinosaurs is a cute, fun, beautifully illustrated book that is perfect for early readers. The characters are relatable, and the story has a positive message. My favorite part is where each dino reveals that they are good at more than just raging and roaring, and also that there is a prehistoric mammal among the characters (so often mammals are overlooked in books of those eras).

Very entertaining book celebrating our differences. Very entertaining for all ages, especially for dino-loving kiddos!

Cute illustrations with a little dino facts included at the beginning and end. The story tells of the importance of doing what you love not just what is expected.
