I loved how the author integrated external beauty with internal beauty. We usually talk about one or the other but in order to live a full life, we need to take care of both. Easy to read with some concrete ideas to integrate in our daily life.

Not a terrible book, but definitely nothing new or groundbreaking. I think it will help a lot of people create an easier and more consistent self-care routine which is great. The main issue I had with this is that self-care is so much more than some pampering and this doesn't really go much deeper than that.

I was fortunate to have early access and read. I found it amazing, full of beautiful stories, lessons, and a guidebook for success/It has you thinking of ways to attract and live with abundance and happiness. Thanks for writing this. I've recommended to several people.

What a wonderful book! I loved this 12 week self-care program. As a therapist I found a lot of ideas in here that I can both use for myself and incorporate into practice with clients.

This book is a great self-help book about inner and outer radiance. The author has some great points. I would like to put her system in place in my own life.

This book is a little nightmare of regular American self-care bullshit. Ever been on Instagram and swiped through stories of self-care influencers? That’s this book. There’s nothing useful or new in this book. Here’s a quote from the introduction that really highlights how I feel about it: “One of my ‘aha!’ moments happened while on tour before a piano performance; I put on a ‘natural’ lotion on my body and broke out into horrible hives in front of hundreds of people. It was a humiliating experience. After the recital, I saw that the ingredients were full of chemicals.” Everything’s full of chemicals! This is useless to me! I’m allergic to coconut oil, that’s going to send me into anaphylactic shock, that doesn’t mean that nobody should use it! (Also lots of the suggestions do involve coconut oil.) One star.

This is a really great self help book for women who just want to take it to the next level! A combination of spiritual help and great self care. If you follow her steps week by week you will be glowing inside and out!

I greatly enjoyed reading this book. I found it both inspirational and practical at the same time. Angela Jia Kim has such an interesting backstory and shares much of what she's learned. Over the years I've read similar books by other people who own beauty lines or spas and I've always found that they are recommending their own products, many of which are out of my price range. So I especially appreciate that Angela Jia Kim does not do this in Radical Radiance--rather she advises what kind of products to use and, in her rituals, she always specifies "product of choice"--which made me feel like I could be included in these beauty rituals with my modest products. The rituals that Kim lays out for the reader are very lovely and really support the idea that radiance comes from within.

I got this and Teal Swan's self love book at the same time and much prefer the latter. This is extremely repetitive. But my real problem was the ways the author's version of self love is commodified - women are encouraged to buy things, namely her skincare line, in order to make themselves feel good. This is not actually self love, it's marketing to vulnerable people who want to love themselves. A disappointing book I will not be recommending.

(Disclaimer: I am Angela Jia Kim's publicist, and I received access to this book as a part of our work together.) Since reading this book, I have totally transformed my skincare routine and feel so much more intentional about how I approach simple tasks like washing my face or layering on moisturizer. I definitely used to approach these as things I have to do, and now they feel like tiny moments of appreciation instead. Beyond that, I loved completing exercises in the book like crafting and recording my radiance intentions (her version of goal setting meets manifestation). It's a quick read, and it gave me space to reflect on how I was spending my time and the way I had set up my own self-care routine.

As an integrative life and wellness coach, I was drawn in by this book's title and the promise of its tagline - 12 Weeks of Self-Love Rituals to Manifest Abundance, Beauty, and Joy. Unfortunately, it fell significantly short of expectations. First, the book reads more like an advertorial than a guide for self-care, cultivating joy, or developing beauty rituals, and the content quality was disappointingly shallow. Kim's writing has a very prescriptive, almost condescending tone; the affirmations are trite and impersonal; and rather than coming across as an altruistic authority in this space, the author reads as a salesperson. The title and lovely cover hint at so much more depth and warmth than are actually found in the pages.

This is a very unique take on self-care, which is how we treat our skin is how we treat our soul. I found it at a difficult time and it's given me a lot of hope. I will be revisiting the rituals here, and I think it's important that my twin daughters practice this for their confidence and self esteem! Thank you for letting me read in advance! It's on pre-order.

This book was useful and written well but is definitely more of an ad than a book. I would not have requested if I knew the author owned a spa/ skin care line that she was trying to advertise and attempted to in almost every paragraph.

Full of beauty rituals and affirmations for self-love, this book practically oozes with creams and the scent of roses. 50 prompts, plans, and rituals for a more radiant you. Enjoyable to read, with its emphasis on authentic beauty. Highly recommended! Thanks to NetGalley for the ARC!

Radical Radiance aims to help readers find their power to manifest beauty, abundance, and joy. Radical Radiance is unlike any other self-help book I’ve read. Kim mainly focuses on self-care rituals, such as skincare and affirmations. I found the material in this book to be quite repetitive. Nonetheless, it was still an enjoyable read. Thank you to NetGalley and St. Martin’s Press for this eARC in exchange for my honest review.

I am a casual fan of self-help books, a frequent fan of creating-a-better-life books, and a devoted fan of books that rise above the rest with little gems of hope, faith, and spot-on tips for living a life of purpose and joy. All of that being said, Radical Radiance, by Angela Jia Kim, missed the mark for me. I found that most chapters bored me and didn't offer much in the way of self-help. I would categorize this book as more of a memoir/tribute to Ms. Kim's ancestry. If I had approached the book with that knowledge, I may have been more receptive and open to her advice. Instead, I was not interested in the book, but remain grateful for the opportunity to have read it.
