Salt of the King is a very different type of book for me to read. I usually read historical fiction and this is more of a fantasy fiction.
It took me a while to get into the story. If this is the type of book you usually read I think you would like this one.

A good mystery set in a small town in the 70s. Music, plenty of characters and stories.
I was a bit confused at the beginning but I got hooked and enjoyed it.
The mystery is solid and I liked the characters.
Recommended.
Many thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for this ARC, all opinions are mine

This is a new author to me, and I will be checking out his other works soon.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book. It did take me a while to get into and there are SO many characters and subplots that I could only read it when I felt I could give it 100% attention.
The story is a wonderful mix of small-town living, music recording, murder mystery, high school life, all set in 1972 Texas. I think there is a character for everyone in this novel – musician, teacher, filmmaker, parent, teacher, boyfriend, girlfriend… SO many themes. This book has the making of at least two more novels and to be honest, I’d have liked to spend more time in the heads of a few of these intriguing individuals.
I especially enjoyed the author’s “afterword” the end which helped me understand the geological and
Thanks to River Grove and Net Galley for the chance to read and review this book.
I would encourage readers to hang in there for the first 100 pages or so. You can skim the geological and historical stuff and still understand the plot. You will get the pay off in the form of a highly entertaining read with a satisfying ending for all.
