*Her Charming Entanglement* by Susie Warren has all the makings of a classic romance—wealthy, brooding hero, independent heroine, and a whirlwind love story. But while the premise sounds promising, the execution leaves a lot to be desired.

One of the biggest issues is the lack of depth in both the characters and their relationship. The hero, while meant to be mysterious and alluring, often comes off as controlling and one-dimensional. The heroine, on the other hand, feels inconsistent—sometimes strong-willed, sometimes frustratingly passive, making it hard to root for her. Their chemistry never fully develops, making the romance feel more forced than organic.

The writing itself is serviceable but tends to lean heavily on clichés and predictable tropes. The dialogue feels stiff, and emotional moments often fall flat. Additionally, the pacing is uneven—some parts drag while others rush through key developments, leaving little time for genuine emotional connection.

Overall, while *Her Charming Entanglement* might appeal to readers who enjoy light, escapist romance, it lacks the depth and nuance needed to make it truly memorable. If you’re looking for a compelling love story with strong character development, this one might leave you disappointed.

"Her Charming Entanglement" by Susie Warren is the third book in the standalone "Love at the Office" series, and although I haven't read the previous books, I found it to be an engaging yet somewhat predictable romance.

The story revolves around Elle Lyman, a determined and hardworking businesswoman, and Simon Manning, a successful entrepreneur with a revenge plot that quickly becomes complicated by their undeniable chemistry. Despite not having the background from the first two books, I felt the narrative was easy to follow and the characters well-introduced.

What worked for me:
- The chemistry between Elle and Simon was palpable and kept me turning the pages.
- The office and business settings were well-detailed, adding a layer of realism to the romance.
- The family dynamics of the Lyman family were heartwarming and added depth to the story.

However, there were a few drawbacks:
- Some plot twists felt a bit too predictable, and the revenge plot didn’t have as much impact as I hoped.
- The character development, particularly for Elle, felt rushed at times, making it hard to fully connect with her journey.

Overall, "Her Charming Entanglement" is a charming read with moments of genuine emotion and a satisfying conclusion. It’s a solid addition to the series, even if you’re starting with this installment like I did. I’m curious to check out the previous books now!

I enjoyed the read, it was a you knew what was coming kind of a story.

I wish that there was more character development. I would have loved this as a meet-cute story more and the deeper into the banter to draw out both of the main characters.

So far this is the only book I've read in the series. Its a little on the shorter side. I feel like that being said the characters seem alittle one dimensional and the ending wrapped up a little too nicely.

This was a workplace romance that including quite a bit about biking.

Thank you netgalley for a copy in exchange for an honest review.

This would've been better as a meet cute about cycling. As it is, it felt disjointed with no character development and distractingly unlikeable male MC.

This is the third book of the series, but it is a first time read for me by this author. The story was entertaining and enjoyable. Simon owns a cycling company and learns that the magazine company that is trying to secure an investment partnership is owned by Elle, the daughter the people who own a gossip tabloid which ruined his family's reputation. He sees this as an opportunity to get revenge for his family and sets out to ruin the magazine and Elle's family. However, once he get to know Elle, he can't help but fall for her. Simon has to decide what is more important to him, getting revenge on behalf of his family, or following his heart and finding true love.
If you're looking for a quick, light, romantic read, then this would be the book for you.

This book review is a bit difficult for me. I really like Elle, but Simon never grew on me. I totally understood the issues he had with Elle's family, although his anger was misplaced. I just didn't buy his resolution of his feelings or their quickly developing love. It just didn't ring true. Ms. Warren is a skilled writer but even though the writing was good, the plot just didn't do it for me. 3.25 stars.

to be very honest, not my fave there is a complete lack of chemistry between the characters and so many technical terms have been used. they do not have any cute moments and the plot is so unreal. they meet, have lunch, go on a biking trip, and boom dating and falling in love, I mean this is so fast-paced and unreal, like spending less than a week with a person and falling in love is so unreal. so it could have been cute, the plot was there but I did not like the timeline or the way it was expressed. even if I consider the fast relationship it was unbelievable and a little annoying

I wasn’t so sure about the climax of this story, it seemed like so much emphasis on this big secret he had kept from her. He told her in chapter 12 about his secret and she didn’t really react? They barely talked about it and then moved on. And then everyone is back to warning him he has to tell her, and even he is stressed about it but he had already told her? I wasn’t sure if she thought his plan was just a passing thought and he never did it, but it just seemed like a complete under reaction and I was very confused because the conversation didn’t really resolve or answer questions that seem pretty important to the climax of the story. And then when he does “reveal” his plan to here (again) it was also anticlimactic. No groveling or true anger from her and it was a bit disappointing given he was still going to follow through with his plan after he fell in love with her and proposed.
I think that’s the only thing I didn’t like. I loved the characters and I thought they were unique and I loved the camping scenes so much. They were so cute. Their dialogue was funny and I felt really connected to both the main characters but the climax and falling action doesn’t seem to match who they really are and it seems like there could be a bit more angst to make it realistic in terms of how the tension builds throughout the story.

This story was great and spicy and I liked the characters but the main man was so frustrating at times, just make up your mind! It felt a little slow so I didn't read it as fast as I typically can with a romance.

He decides to put Elle to the test. By taking her on 50 mile cycling weekend. He realizes that she is nothing like he thought she would be. They fall in love. He has not told her about his revenge plans. They get engaged. She wants him to meet her family. He has many emotions to work through. It was a great read with much emotion.

Thank you to netgalley for the DRC.

What I liked: the spice was pretty fantastic and the chemistry between the two main characters was well written.
The author clearly did a lot of research on cycling and camping and was able to add that knowledge for readers without boring them or taking anything from the plot.

What I didn’t like: the story was a bit slow and it took me longer to finish because of it. Simon was so indecisive it had me very frustrated with him most of the time. It also felt like certain things were repeated that didn’t need to be - such as Elle’s issues of not feeling good enough along with her strong desire to prove herself to her family.

Overall this book was enjoyable, if not very in depth (but I did learn a ton about camping and cycling.) I would recommend it to someone looking for a light read with some spice.

This is a good book. The two main characters are Elle and Simon. Elle owns a publishing company. Simon owns a biking company. Elle want Simon to invest in her new cycling magazine. Simon is going to invest but he is taking himself away from the negotiating, because he has an attraction to Elle. He doesn’t want anything to get between Elle and himself. They each have problems but together they work them out. They get engaged and declare their love.

It’s not her fault that her parents caused irreparable damage to Simon and his family, but it looks like she is the one to take the fall. Elle and Simon have something special but so much baggage that the only place they are good is away from others. Great short romance.

Title: Her Charming Entanglement
Author: Susie Warren
Rating: ⭐️⭐️/5
Spice rating: 🌶🌶/5
Thank you to NetGalley for the DRC in exchange for an honest review.

Synopsis:

Simon learns that the magazine company coming to his cycling company to pitch for an investment partnership is owned by none other than the daughter of the owners of a gossip tabloid that ruined his family and his childhood. Dead set on getting his revenge on her family- he sets out to destroy her magazine and her family and instead finds himself falling for the charming and sweet daughter.

What I liked:

I loved the concept/focus of using cycling and road biking as a sport. It’s one you don’t really ever see.

I loved how detailed and knowledgeable the author clearly is on cycling and camping.

What I didn’t like:

Unfortunately, most of it. The H/h just didn’t mesh well and most of the time I felt like I was reading a manual on how to become a cycling and camping enthusiast and attending a sex education class. The writing was very passive, lots of tell not a lot of showing. I couldn’t feel the emotion from the characters and because of it the dynamic felt forced. We’re hit with a bunch of backstory up front and it’s constantly repeated throughout the book when we haven’t even been given a chance to forget.

Closing thoughts:

I think the characters needed to be fleshed out more, their goals/motivations and internal/external conflict was just too surface level to really let us get in deep and want to root for the characters and honestly the love scenes were very clinical in their delivery and the H/h gave into their “need” too easily considering neither of them wanted to mix business/pleasure. Everything just read very surface level and I want to be pulled into the story more.
