Surrendering to Hunt by Jennifer Ryan is the second book in the Wyoming Wildes series. Even though I did not read the first book in the series, it can be read as a standalone and makes complete sense. This book has a trigger warning of abuse, even with the sensitive subject matter it is more on the surface without going too dark.

Cyn Wilson needs help. Her sister and nephew have gone missing, because of her sister's abusive boyfriend. Cyn has to turn to the lawman of the town, Hunt Wilde, whom she does not get along with, to help her find them before the worst happens. Cyn does not trust Hunt though because Angela's abusive boyfriend was Hunt's childhood best friend. Can she trust Hunt to help her?

I really enjoyed this book. It was funny. It was heartbreaking. It was such a fun time reading it, unfortunately, it just didn't give me that 5-star feeling but overall a great read. I would definitely recommend this book to anyone who loves romantic suspense.

Four stars. I’ve read multiple Jennifer Ryan books that I’ve liked and this book is no different. I liked the sort of role reversal of the main characters with the woman being the free spirit not the man. Both Hunt and Cyn are great characters.

Surrendering to Hunt (Wyoming Wilde #2). By Jennifer Ryan. 2022. Avon. (ARC eBook).

This second book of the Wyoming Wilde series failed to engage me. I never bought into the romance between Cyn and Hunt. Even considering the mystery suspense in the mix, the timing/pacing of the romance just didn’t jive.

Surrendering to Hunt is the second book in Jennifer Ryan’s Wyoming Wilde series. Officer Hunt Wilde has cited hair stylist Cyn Wilson several times, mostly for speeding. But when his has to come to her assistance at the hands of his boyhood friend, and her sister Angela’s boyfriend Rad, it opens a new chapter on many levels.

Whatever happened to Rad? Hunt and Rad had been best buddies since early childhood, but somewhere in high school Rad began to change. When he didn’t get what he wanted he went off, the worst experience in high school being when he struck a date when she drew a line, busting her lip. From that point on, Rad devolved.

Cyn had been trying to get her sister to see the light and take her new baby Lana and get away from the abusive relationship she had with Rad. When Angela makes the plan to escape, Cyn is awaiting the message to pick her up when she learns that Rad was fired from his job the day before. Rushing to Rad’s home with Hunt, Cyn is told that Angela took off with the baby after a fight, and Rad does have deep scratches showing there may have been a fight, but was it a fight for life? The story unfolds to show threats against Cyn, a new relationship between Cyn and the Wildes, and a quest to find Angela and Lana.

This is a very well plotted story with very rich characters in a convoluted tale. It is a very good series that makes the reader want to read one right after another. I very much enjoyed this novel and do recommend it to those who enjoy this genre!

This is the second book in the Wyoming Wilde series but a first time read for me by this author. Although I did not read the first one, I had no trouble reading this as a standalone. The story is emotional and at times hard to read because of the difficult subject matter. It addresses the topic of abusive partners, and although it's not by any means sugar coated, it doesn't delve too much into the dark side. Cyn's sister is in an abusive relationship with her husband who happens to be lawman Hunt's childhood friend. Because of his connection with her sister's husband, Cyn doesn't really warm up immediately to Hunt. But when her sister goes missing, she spends some serious time with Hunt in her search for her. They get to know each other better and sparks fly.
This was a fast-paced story which held my attention from start to finish. The characters were interesting and well-developed and the plot twists kept me interested and turning the pages. It was an enjoyable story and I'm glad to have had the opportunity to read it.
I received a complimentary copy from Netgalley and am voluntarily leaving my review.

Another good book by Jennifer Ryan. This series of hers is wishing the perfect guy existed to match the opposite of perfect.

I'm a fan of Jennifer Ryan, so was really excited about a new romance from her. I'm giving this book 3 stars...the writing is good and the characters are well developed. I didn't realize this was a romantic suspense which is not my cup of tea. It may have been my bad because I didn't read the back of the book. I will say...I don't think the cover is a good representation of the book.
This book has a lot of triggers!
If you are a fan of romantic suspense you will enjoy this book.

Surrendering to Hunt is the second in the Wyoming Wilde series. I did not read the first book and wish I had prior to this one - though it can be read as a standalone, I think it would have been better with a little background the first book would have provided. It's mainly the story of Hunt and Cyn and their crazy relationship but there is definitely more to the story. It's a small-town, opposites attract love story that also takes on the difficult subject of domestic violence.
Overall, I enjoyed the story but there were parts that didn't "sit" well, in regards to how their relationship progressed and their interactions. I do plan on going back to read the first book in the series and will also read the next one as well.

I enjoyed reading this romance suspense story. This is an author that I have enjoyed reading from the first book I picked up. This is a well written story that has twist and turns that had me turning pages fast. This is an engaging story that is hard to put down. I enjoyed the characters and how they were able to pull me into their story from the start. They have great growth throughout and I enjoyed their chemistry. This is a great story that I really enjoyed reading. I highly recommend this book.

SURRENDER TO HUNT by Jennifer Ryan. This was, once again, a good read by Ms. Ryan. I enjoy her tales as they often include, not only a love story, but some danger and risks and mystery too. and this was no exception. I loved Cyn - she is lively and independent, yet so vulnerable too. And Hunt is simply yummy. I smiled and shed a tear and cheered for these two. Our lovely couple doesn't get an easy ride to their HEA but Ms. Ryan takes us on that journey and, throughout, we fall in love with the characters and the story too.

Tough on the outside, with a heart as big as Wyoming. Protective to the core, with justice and fairness running in blood. And when the tough have to wage a battle with love, heart and soul takes to the knees.

Meet the oldest of the Wilde brothers, Hunt Wilde. A lawman to the core and serving justice with fairness, his heart beats for Cyn Wilson, as wild as Wyoming.

Vibrant as the colof of her hair, salon owner Cyn Wilson lives life to the fullest, with a heart of gold and ever helpful to her townspeople, and her heart skips a beat every time Hunt crosses her path.

When Cyn’s sister and her niece disappear, Cyn turns to Hunt for help. A traumatic situation that brings Cyn and Hunt together working alongside, as they explore the attraction between them. A trauma that cements their relationship as well as the love and trust they have with each other.

As always, Jennifer Ryan with her exceptional writing and narrative skills, threads a story of love and family, no holds barred. I loved the parallel story line with Cyn’s sister that actually develops the relationship between Cyn and Hunt, cementing their intimacy and commitment to each other. Supporting family characters, the humorous innuendos and witty conversations, add charm and chemistry to the story.

Disclaimer: The story revolves around domestic abuse which may be a trigger.

Jennifer Ryan brings us back to the Wildes of Wyoming series with Hunt and Cyn. Cyn is constantly calling the police to her sister's place and her sister keeps insisting that her boyfriend loves her and only wants what is best for her. That is until her sister disappears and Cyn is determined to find not only her sister, but also her baby niece. Hunt and the others on the police force have been called to the home many times, but there is not much they can do without admitting that there is abuse. Although Wilde is part of Hunt's name, it describes Cyn so much better when she is speeding through town, getting in her sister's boyfriend's face, and being the center of rumors flying around the male population. When they start working together, the sparks fly even higher. Will his by the book attitude and her outrageous and wild ways be able to mesh together, or will their differences only serve to pull them apart?

Jennifer Ryan continues the series of the Wilde boys and we get a glimpse into the lives of those we met before. It is like catching up with everyone when visiting old friends. As Hunt and Cyn get closer to each other and are on the trail to finding her family, we find out more about them as individuals and how their future could be if they allow themselves to be open to each other. Their relationship seems on the fast forward track from always meeting in situations where he is the law enforcer to them working together towards a goal to seeing each other's potential. As they go along on this mission, we are drawn into their relationship. I look forward to reading more from this author.

I have read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own. I would like to thank NetGalley and Avon and Harper Voyager, Avon for this privilege.

I hadn’t read a Jennifer Ryan novel in a while. I’d forgotten how much I enjoy her stories.

Cyn Wilson likes to have a good time. She has a reputation as a party girl. Cyn doesn’t try to hide it and she doesn’t care what everyone thinks. Her mind is centered on her sister Angela and what she can do to get her sister out of the abusive relationship Angela refuses to leave. At one time police officer Hunt Wilde was friends with Angela’s boyfriend Rad. After watching Rad’s temper get the better of him too many times, Hunt has written off the friendship.

Hunt knows there’s so much more to Cyn than her reputation, but she has no time for him, not when she thinks he isn’t willing to help her sister. He’d like to do more to help Angela, but the law has its limits. He can’t get Cyn to see that he can’t help Angela if she doesn’t want to be helped. Yet, when Angela goes missing, it’s Hunt that Cyn runs to for help. Hunt is happy that he is the one Cyn turned to, but reigning her in isn’t easy. Cyn’s determined to find answers, even when the search takes a deadly turn. It’s up to Hunt to protect Cyn from the man behind Angela’s disappearance, and from her own strong will.

.I loved the pairing of Cyn’s sarcastic, spitfire personality against Hunt’s even keeled, controlled (at least on the surface)one. Ms. Ryan manages to keep the banter crisp, quick and engaging, while never downplaying the seriousness of the underlaying theme of abuse. The story is at times intense, amusing and emotional and well worth the read.

New to me author.

I expected a more western themed book, but I was wrong. This is a suspenseful, action driven mystery.

Be aware of triggers, this story contains domestic violence and the point of view of the abuser.

Hunt and Can have danced around each other for a while. When her sister disappears, knowing full well who is responsible, they work together to bring him down. And, they fall in love in the process.

Some of the timing of events seemed at times unrealistic, but that didn't keep me from seeing this through to the end.

Gtreat book. Clearly part of a series but as a reader you didn’t have to read the series to enjoy this book as a stand-alone. Two thumbs up!!

Title: Surrendering to Hunt
Author: Jennifer Ryan
Genre: Romance
Rating: 4.0 out of 5

The last thing lawman Hunt Wilde ever dreamed he'd do was fall hard for a purple-haired troublemaker like Cyn Wilson. While Hunt believes in law and order, Cyn lives life fast and loose--with fast cars and wild nights. But when Cyn's sister disappears, she surprisingly turns to him for help. Never let it be said that a Wilde man turned down a woman in distress--and on a mission.

It takes a lot for Cyn to swallow her pride and ask Hunt for anything. The man never gives her a break and is always staring at her with those perceptive eyes. But beneath Cyn's tough exterior beats a heart as wide and beautiful as Wyoming itself--and soon she finds herself surrendering to the overpowering attraction simmering between them and partnering with him in the search for her missing sister.

She won't rest until she learns the truth, even if that means putting herself in harm's way. And when Hunt discovers how much danger Cyn is in because of him, he's even more determined to take down the man who would take her out of Hunt's life--forever.

This was a decent read—and actually made small-town, western life sound appealing—and I enjoyed it. I’d actually like to read more about the secondary characters, and since this is part of a series of linked standalones, that will probably happen. Things between Hunt and Cyn developed really quickly, and that doesn’t usually work for me, but this was pretty believable. All-in-all a good way to spend a few weekend hours.

Jennifer Ryan is a bestselling author. Surrendering to Hunt is her newest novel.
