Thank you to NetGalley and Avon and Harper Voyager for providing a free ARC in exchange for my honest review.

Yet another reason to be a Jenny Colgan fan, this next installment in the Mure series was an absolute delight! We get a closer look into some of the more peripheral characters so far in this series, and it was a great joy to learn more about their lives. Told in a typical Colgan fashion, the setting was perfect, the story was engrossing, and I can't wait for the next one!

I look forward to each new book from Jenny Colgan, and this is one of my favorite series. The island of Mure is such a beautiful setting, and the story is rich with complex characters and thought-provoking themes--all while being deeply entertaining!

With the latest installment of Jenny Colgan’s “Island” series, we get to journey to the fictional island of Mure and visit our old friends again. We learn that there are to be two weddings on the same day, at the same location, and Flora is one of the brides-to-be. All while juggling running the busy Inn, raising her infant son, and trying to please a husband who wants a small intimate wedding. An extravagant celebrity wedding adds some new characters to keep things interesting. Much pandemonium happens with the wedding planner, disapproving in-laws, shopping for wedding dresses, and the Hen Party.

I love the “Island” series and wish I could visit Mure. I enjoyed the story but felt things were rushed along. There were a few story lines that could have been fleshed out more, and this would have added nuance and background to some characters. I could do without the sociopathic child “Agot” too. The sections where she appears yelling and demanding her way needed to be shortened. I do not think anyone finds her behavior cute any longer, and this certainly would not be tolerated in any six-year-old.

Jenny Colgan’s latest installment of the goings on in Mure is sure to please her fans. I read the book straight through, and ended up wanting the NEXT novel to appear, to see how things turn out for all the inhabitants of the island.

I'm a fan of the author, and this island, and mostly these characters, but this was not my favorite in the series. I felt frustrated with these characters getting pushed around, miscommunicating, and creating difficulties where there shouldn't be difficulties. I realize that by definition, fiction is made up of entirely invented scenarios, but some of the situations and characters seemed so manufactured that they seemed cartoonish, flat, or exaggerated. For example, the character of Jan seems to only play one note until the very end, with no real depth, and while Olivia is supposed to appear shallow and materialistic, there's obviously more to her than just that. And the ending with Saif, I just didn't buy it. That said, I"m sure I'll still read the next in the series and would gladly plan a vacation to this lovely island.

Just wow!
It's always fun to visit the island of Mure and catch up with all its residents--the innkeeper, the chef, the cheesemaker, the teacher, the doctor, and many more.. While several long-term plotlines have wrapped up, I hope it's not the last installment!

The author is a skilled writer and sets the tone for the reader. This is a solid choice for a beach read and fans of Jenny Colgan will appreciate the continued story line. Wedding planning always allows for a string of fortunate or unfortunate events and this book is no exception.

Thanks to Avon books, NetGalley and the author for an e-Arc.

I really enjoy Jenny Colgan's books and I liked this one, just not as much as some of the others.

I think there was too much going on in An Island Wedding. Flora and Joel were trying to plan their wedding, Lorna and Saif were in conflict, and Agot was being a brat. Then, Jan's gorgeous and successful sister Olivia, sweeps into town with an obnoxious wedding planner in tow. She is engaged and plans to pull out all the stops for jaw-dropping nuptials in Mure, a place she hasn't seen in years. The sibling rivalry between the two sisters becomes downright antagonistic throwing a pall over everything.

Of course, it all works out in the end, well, except for one thing, but I don't do spoilers.
Colgan's prose sparkles, the island of Mure and its inhabitants are just as charming as always. I just found it a bit tedious trying to keep up with all the storylines.

I'm not sure what went off the rails with the two Christmas books in the Mure series but I'm glad that the story is back to making more sense (and that Jan is JAN again, that really annoyed me).

An Island Wedding surrounds two weddings taking place on midsummer at The Rock: one couple will be familiar to you and one is yet another new couple. That's the main drive of the story that takes place starting a few months after the last book in this series.

As always, there's a LOT of Agot being a jerk, more threads left undone and some usual BS but overall I found it a lot more enjoyable than the two prior novels in this series.

Jenny Colgan knows how to bring island life to the page and I can't help but keep tuning in to this series on Mure.

Thank you to NetGalley and Avon for an eARC copy of this novel in exchange for my honest review.

Seeing a new Jenny Colgan book published is always a thrill to my heart. Her latest novel, An Island Wedding Muire #5) was absolutely wonderful! Colgan's Muire series has been like meeting another part of my family. The characters are precious and Colgan does an excellent job of bringing the beauty of Scotland to her readers. An Island Wedding is my favorite - but I say that about all her books! This one will make you laugh and pull at your heartstrings. It's a quick read that Colgan fans are going to thoroughly fly through. 5+ stars for this one. Don't miss it!

It was good to be back on More with Flora and Joel. Thanks to the publisher for this digital ARC.

Flora is trying to plan her wedding to Joel, but she and he have two different ideas of what a wedding should be. Lots of light tension on whether they will see eye to eye and finally make it to the altar! The storyline continuation of Loran and Said was a tearjerker, and I really hope we will see more of them soon.

Thanks to Jenny Colgan for another wonderful story from the land of Scotland.

Island of Mure, Scotland

Flora MacKenzie owns the Seaside Kitchen, and she is now the proprietor of the Rock hotel on the remote Scottish island of Mure which is between Scotland and Norway. She and her fiance Joel (her former boss in London) have a one-year-old son, Douglas. Joel has begged Flora to not plan a huge wedding, and she has reluctantly agreed. Although convincing the tight-knit island community that they're all not invited will be touchy. But Flora has another wedding to deal with. Former resident Olivia Mathieson, now an Instagram "influencer", wants the Rock for her wedding. With the financial backing of her fiance, Olivia wants this to be the biggest bash ever.

Lorna MacLeod, the primary school headmistress, is in love with the island doctor, Saif Hassan, a Syrian refugee. However, they have kept their romance secret for personal reasons. Until recently, Saif thought he was a widower. But seeing a recent photo of his Syrian wife, who has apparently remarried, and had a child, it's prudent to be discreet, especially because of his two sons. Saif has applied to remain in Scotland,

Olivia's sister, Jan, and her husband run a camp for needy kids. Jan has always been terribly jealous of her beautiful sister, and having Olivia come back to the island is driving her crazy. Jan is thinking that the only reason Olivia wants her wedding on Mure is to show off her glamorous lifestyle. Plus, she isn't exactly bosom buddies with Flora, so it's tough enough to deal with Olivia, but to also have Flora benefit from this just makes Jan even more frustrated.

And then there is Jacinth, the wedding planner. Flora is overwhelmed by the outlandish, over-the-top ideas that Jacinth has for this fabulous wedding. With unlimited finances courtesy of the fiance's family, this will be the party of the century for little Mure.

Best friends Flora and Lorna have a lot on their plates. But when they, along with Jan, Olivia, and Jacinth, travel to Edinburgh to search for wedding gowns, events there complicate several lives. Flora doesn't want to hurt Joel's feelings, but not including the islanders in her wedding is bugging her. And Lorna's secret romance can cause a scandal if word gets out to the locals.

AN ISLAND WEDDING is a sometimes humorous, sometimes compelling tale of small town life on a remote Atlantic island. Everyone knows everyone on Mure, and it can be really difficult to keep a secret, let alone several secrets from escaping. Flora is stronger than she thinks, and her love for Joel, as well as her island, is the backbone of this story.

Don't miss the latest installment of life on the island of Mure.

Another charming story about Mure Island and the people who live there.

This time around it is Flora and Joel who are planning a small, quiet wedding along with their baby Douglas. Things change when Jan's beautiful sister Olivia returns with plans to also marry a man from a wealthy family at the same time and wouldn't a double wedding be just the thing.

The regular cast of characters along with some new ones are involved and hilarity and drama ensue; There is also the continuing story of Lorna, Flora's best friend, and the town Doctor Saif.

Jenny Colgan has a light touch and her novels contain a great balance of humor and heartbreak. I look forward the next chapter in the lives of the people of Mure.

Jenny Colgan is my absolute favorite romance writer, a guilty pleasure if there ever was one. An Island Wedding does not disappoint! Flora is back, preparing for her upcoming wedding to Joel, her dear friend Lorna is along for the ride, and an unexpected celebrity wedding is booked at the Rock. Wedding dress shopping, new friendships, a “hen” party that is out of this world, and drama around the entire island bring surprises galore. Love is in the air! I loved this book!

Thank you to the publisher for the advanced reading copy. Review is my own.

Book #5 of the Island of Mure series by Jenny Colgan, We find the island getting ready for a wedding but it is not for anyone you expect. Jan's sister and social media influencer Olivia wants to hold a grand wedding the island has never seen. Meanwhile, Flora and Joel's plans are overshadowed by this huge display. I felt like reading this book brought back many old friends that I haven't seen in a while. Colgan always writes a great story! #AnIslandWedding #JennyColgan #AvonBooks #June 2022

Thanks to NetGalley and HarperCollins for the e-ARC.
Another wonderful addition to the Island series! I love Jenny Colgan books, the Mure island ones in particular. It's like catching up with old friends. It's the story of Flora and Joel's wedding, but it's so much more. Plenty of humor mixed with heartache, lots of laugh out loud moments but also some tears. A must-read for Colgan fans. You could definitely read this without having read the rest of the series, but do yourself a favor & enjoy them all.

Reading a Mure book is like getting to visit old friends. This time around Flora is dealing with her feelings about her wedding while also planning the first big wedding at the hotel. Meanwhile things are changing for Lorna and Saif. A bit soap opera-y in parts but I loved it all the same! Charming, funny and heartfelt as always.

A very large and grateful thank you to NetGalley, Avon, and Harper Voyager for granting me the privilege of reading this ARC in exchange for my honest review.

What a wonderful book! It was so nice to visit my favorite imaginary island. Per usual, I devoured it in one sitting and stayed up way too late last night.

I love several of Jenny Colgan's series but this one is my absolute favorite. In my opinion, nothing can top "The Endless Beach" but Book #5 was still very good. I loved the snarky dialogue, the multiple love stories, and the difficult family relationships which Colgan does so well. She also has a real talent for handling tough subjects gracefully and in a way that touches my heart and puts a lump in my throat without getting too gritty or depressing.

Like with all the other Mure books, the author has resolved some story lines and keeps us hanging with others. That's OK, Ms. Colgan... keep torturing us with your cliff hangers... In the immortal words of John Mellencamp, "It hurts so good!"

Another wonderful story from Jenny Colgan! I highly recommend this book.
