I really enjoyed this sequel!! Not quite as much as I love the first one, but it’s still pretty flipping good. Signal isn’t quite as helpless as she seemed in the first one, which is great! But… and here come the mild spoilers by the way… I was kind of annoyed by all the back and forth between Signal and Erik. Like, I really like you, but you don’t like me. And then repeat that enough to be kind of obnoxious. It didn’t seriously detract from the story, but I would have been into a little bit more of a solid relationship.

Anyway, other than that, I was absolutely into the rest of the book!! Nobody is still the shit and I really started to like Jada too. The characters were all interesting and I was into their development. I also really enjoyed Signal’s journey to clearing her name. So much drama and craziness!!!!

I recommend this to those who loved the first one. This is a great installment!! I’m not convinced that there won’t be a third one by the way. Totally possible after having read the end!!!

Thanks so much to NetGalley, Crooked Lane Books, and Lily Sparks for the opportunity to read this for my honest and unbiased opinion!!

I anticipated this sequel so much and IT. LIVED. UP.

One of the things that snuck up on me from TKC was the unexpected romance story that evolved. And in Teen Killers in Love, we get more of it. This was all about uncovering the truth as well as finding the humanity in those who think they have none.

Having the old group back together was a freaking delight, though they are still ultimately running from the camp and those who initiated it.

The amount of suspense and intensity in this second book felt right up there with the level of TKC. And I assume there will at least be a third book, which I am absolutely dying for!

What I’m the world did I just read? A crazy ride from start to finish but in the best way possible. A completely unique storyline. Binge readable. Pull you out of a slump kinda book.

Seeing this review is your sign to add this book to your TBR list. Now!

I can't possibly begin to describe how much I loved this book! Teen Killers Club was an amazing read, and honestly a tough act to follow—considering how incredible it is, and its extremely suspenseful ending—but Lily Sparks delivered!

This sequel opens where the first book left off, in the heat of the moment after Signal and Erik are freed from any attachment to the camp—if you don't include their new-found allies who are now conditioned to bring back Signal and Erik or risk their own lives.

From the incredibly done reveal of Erik's backstory, to the deftly written progress on each of their stories, I don't know how much more praise I can give this book. It is beyond anything I've ever read, and I dropped everything to binge it. Stakes are high, truths are twisted, and no one has any reason to trust the other, in this fascinating YA thriller. It's taking all my willpower to hold back spoilers, because every chapter is as mesmerising as it is revealing.

Learning another book is on the way is now a highlight in my life, and Lily Sparks has written her way into my favourite authors list!

Teen Killers in Love
by Lily Sparks
Pub Date: 09 Aug 2022
Note: Book 2 of the Teen Killers series
First things first...this is book 2 in the series and it VERY much reads like a continuing story. If you have not read Teen Killers first, STOP, go get Teen Killers and read it, then come back to this one. I didn't realize it was a second book and was so confused the first time I tried reading it. If you read the first one first everything makes complete sense (duh!) and you also have already have a sense of the rhythm of the book (which is important).
Now...on to the book. Signal has had a rough year. After being convicted of brutally murdering her best friend and being identified as a Class A (the worst of the worst), Signal was "saved" from a life sentence by going to a special camp for teen killers from which she escaped, and she is now trying to prove her innocence. That is where this book begins.
Signal thinks she has it all figured out including who killed her best friend Rose and set her up. Just as she thinks she has a plan, she is hunted...by her friends in the Teen Killer's Club. They have no choice. Either they kill her or they will be killed. On top of this, she and Erik have become the next Bonnie and Clyde with a wide reaching fandom who are willing to help them out. Learning who she can and can't trust just might be the death of her.
Great read. Super fast-paced. Lots of twists and turns.

The premise of the first book in this series hooked me immediately – a camp where Class A teens, the most dangerous and manipulative criminal profiles, are trained to be assassins.

With their kill switches now disabled, Erik and Signal are on a quest for evidence that will prove Signal’s innocence. They need to move fast, because their friends from assassin camp have been dispatched to locate them. Bringing them back to camp alive may be optional. With the help of a friend, contacts on the outside, and weirdly starstruck fans, the two of them slowly make their way back to Signal’s hometown. Some pretty hefty secrets are revealed, but I’m still unsure who to believe. Luckily, there’s a third book coming that should answer my questions.

All of these teens have allegedly killed someone and been deemed unrehabilitable by a psychological test. Their lives now consist of being sent on numerous missions to assassinate designated targets until they reach their thirties (if they live that long) at which time they’ll be killed. Can’t have any loose ends out in the real world. But this group forms strong bonds and friendships with each other. Can people change? Is there good inside someone after they’ve done bad things? Are they a danger to society and themselves? Those are the questions some of these characters are asking about themselves and others.

What I could have done without was the whiplash relationship angst between Erik and Signal – mostly due to her flip-flopping indecision. She wants to be with him on one page, then changes her mind on the next. Honestly, I’m surprised Erik didn’t leave her on the side of the road somewhere. I was more invested in them finding the evidence and exposing the camp to the public.

If you enjoy government conspiracies, psychological thrillers, and lots of morally gray characters, you’ll find all that in this series.

I received a complimentary copy of this book from the publisher through NetGalley. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

Teen Killers in Love by Lily Sparks is an unputdownable YA thriller that will satisfy fans of the first book. If you haven't read the first book yet, go read it! This review may contain spoilers for the first book. The story revolves around Signal, who is part of the Teen Killers Club. But what others don't know is that Signal isn't a psychopath. She's been branded a teen killer accidentally. The same can't be said for her maybe-boyfriend Erik, who is definitely a Class A. Can the pair escape their enemies as well as themselves?

Here is a gripping excerpt from Chapter 1:

"If I were in love with a killer, I would never admit it. Not that I'm in love with Erik, obviously. I have one hell of a crush, sure. But what's a crush that's never confessed? Just a secret you can't keep from yourself. Nothing at all, really.
I've been trying not to stare at Erik, the camper with the highest body count in the Teen Killers Club, since he fell asleep a few hours ago on this shabby little bus headed toward my hometown. But I haven't been this close to him since back in the loft of the Star Barn, when he cut out the kill switch camp was using to track me..."

Overall, Teen Killers in Love is a YA thriller that will appeal to fans of None Shall Sleep or Maximum Ride. One highlight of this book is the nonstop action. The book starts off with a bang and the action never lets up. It feels like our protagonists are constantly on the run and in danger of being killed. Another highlight of this book are the flashes of humor amidst the action. I like how the author interspersed lighthearted moments among tense moments. If you're intrigued by the excerpt above, or if you're a fan of YA thrillers in general, I highly recommend that you check out this book when it comes out in August!

I only got about 20% of the way into the book before I decided to stop reading it. I don’t think the patrons at my library would be likely to read this style of book. It’s an interesting story but just wasn’t for me.

i loved everything! from the characters to the writing to the action-packed scenes. honestly, all of it was just so good and fun to read, i don't remember a time i've had such a great time reading about psycho killers lol. speaking of psycho killers, i believe in Nobody supremacy. that's my dream girl till i die!

In this follow up to Teen Killers club we catch back up with Signal and Erik who are still just trying to survive. Their kill switches have been disabled and are on the run for the lives. The media has made them out to be two teenagers in love and on the run and extremely dangerous. I won’t reveal to much more of the plot because you will want to read it for yourself. We do get to pick up on quite a few characters from the previous book and this one has tons of ups and downs, twists and turns. As usual the reading flows so easily with how the chapters are set up, that it’s an easy read and one that you won’t want to put down.

It’s going to leave you anxiously awaiting the third book because Lily always leaves us wanting more to the story.

Absolutely brilliant, captivating and haunting, Teen Killers in Love follows the story of the previous novel Teen Killers Club, a must read for all thriller’s readers looking for a ‘’stick with you for a long time’’ story.

Lily Sparks just gave everyone the sequel they were waiting for. As captivating as the first one, each sentence and each detail has a purpose to a wonderful story with an incredible twist. Once you taste the words of Lily Sparks, you’ll never get enough. Definitely a favorite read of the year.

If you want a fast paced thriller-romance, this is your read. The sequel to Teen Killers Club, Teen Killers In Love continues the action, romance, and suspense of the previous book. I love how this book never quits moving forward and how each chapter ends on a cliffhanger...keeping me reading! Which may or may not be bad for my productivity and sleep schedule, but it's fine. Reminiscent of The Naturals by Jennifer Lynn Barnes, Sparks flips the idea of teenage consultants working for the FBI and explores what would happen if you put teenage killers together in a camp and then into the outside world. Perhaps the most under-rated YA read of the past few years, I promise you will not be disappointed.

The only thing that bugged me about this book was the constant and unending teenage angst from Signal about whether or not Erik actually likes her. I could have used MUCH less of that, and found myself annoyed at times with her back-and-forth. Girlfriend, figure it out. I get it, he's a killer and technically can't feel, but I don't need you to keep monologuing the same points the whole book! While I could have done without that, overall, this is a great teenage thriller that will keep you on the edge of your seat. What happens when you categorize teens as worst-of-the-worst based on a psychological test, train them how to kill, and then try to control them in the outside world? Guess you'll have to read to find out.

Thank you @netgalley and @crookedlanebooks for the ARC

This is probably the most underrated YA series I have ever read! I don’t understand why it isn’t all over #bookstagram and #booktok !

It’s been a little over a year since I read #teenkillersclub so I was worried I would be lost but I fell back into the world and was instantly reminded why I loved the first one. I don’t know that I have ever read a book that toes the line of two opposing genres so well. The horror/thriller aspects are done so well it’s fast paced and keeps you on the edge of your seat but at the same time the romance 👏 …. The TENSION! It’s unmatched! So impressive. Loved every moment!

Obsession might even be an understatement.

I absolutely devoured the first book in maybe two hours. Could not put it down.

The second book focuses much more on Signal and Erik, and it is so hard to tell whether he is truly falling for her like she clearly is him, or if she is a means to an end for his ultimate goal. I won't spill those beans, but it is a huge part of the story. He's definitely easy to fall for and we see Signal try to fight it for a long time.

When the first book ended, Signal and Erik are set up on their way back to Ledmonton to find Rose's killer. They've cut out their kill switches and can't be traced. Unfortunately, some of the group still have their switches in; Dennis was not able to deactivate them all in time before he was caught. So, those that have the switches are sent on a new mission - kill Signal and bring Erik back to camp alive. Failure to do so will result in their own deaths.

Signal, Nobody, and Erik get tons of help along the way as they make their way to Ledmonton and the journey is never boring. The book is fast-paced and there is so much action to follow, that it would be incredibly difficult to get bored. Over the course of the book I found myself not nearly as interested in Rose's murder as how the teens would save themselves and each other. Rose was a shitty friend and yeah, she should not have been murdered so brutally, but I was drawn much more to Signal and the rest of the Killers club.

I love seeing all of the characters interact together. They are just about as ragtag a bunch as you could find, but together they gel. Sometimes I find myself bored by side characters, but none of them even really fit that title, even though it is obvious Signal is the main character. Sparks does such a fantastic job bringing them all to life and making them stand out from one another, but not in a way that was gimmicky or weird. All had their 'talents', and put them to go use.

Signal, Erik, and Nobody head to Rose's house as Signal has put some of the pieces together from the night Rose was murdered. Hard to do when one was blacked out and had no memories of the night, thus not enabling her to have assisted in her defense - not that he attorneys tried very hard, since she ended up convicted and designated a Class A anyway, right?

Book two ended up having just as many twists and turns as the first. Some I guessed, some I did not, and all were well-timed in their revelations. It was impossible to know who to trust at times, though I will say the only character I never doubted for a moment was Nobody. She is probably my most favorite of all the Killers and her fierce loyalty to Signal, and those she loves in general, was unmatched.

Through a (some) not-totally unexpected series of events. Signal ends up on her own and Erik heads back to camp. Javier sends her off with a warning that if she ever sees any of them again, even him, to run. The rest know what is waiting for them when they get back to camp, but they all also know that Signal is innocent. If push comes to shove, someone WILL kill her. The Director had wanted it to be Erik, or to at least have the appearance of having been Erik. This way the whole Bonnie-and-Clyde thing they had going on while on the run would have further cemented proof in the eyes of the public that a Class A could never be trusted, never be fixed or rehabilitated; Erik was the ultimate Class A and the Director needed him - though I can't explain why without major spoilers.

I seriously need book three NOW, which is impossible because book two isn't even published yet. But if Sparks continues with the pace she has set in the first two books, I have no doubt that the third will be amazing as well. I want more backstory on the others, how they came to be at camp. Erik's whole story is laid out in this one, and it's pretty crucial to the plot.

I want to know what will happen to everyone else now that the world is aware of the camp, what the Director did to these kids, and what it means for the Wylie-Stanton Index and all of those already designated as Class As.

There is so much more story to tell and both books kept me wanting more, long after I turned the final pages. I It seems kind of weird to love books full of murderers who are okay being murderers, but that's why the backstories are so important. Nothing is as it seems and Signal keeps discovering this over and over again.

I love Spark's ability to write some really good villains as well - let's face it, the Killers are not the actual bad guys here. The true blue villains are written just as well as the teens and made for compelling reading. Especially the Director, as well as Skye, Erik's brother.

Highly highly highly recommended.

Helter Skelter! This thriller contemporary was quite thrilling but also humanizing? Strange, but the killers did feel like real people and although deranged you still understood their motives. Entertaining!

Teen Killers In Love by Lily Sparks will be out on 9th August 2022.

The Teen Killers Club is on the brink of destruction, with one faction pitted against another in a deadly game of survival. Erik and Signal are part of the group who’ve had their “kill switches” disabled, and the others are under orders to hunt them down—or meet their own demise. Now, Erik and Signal have to find a way to neutralize the others’ switches and clear Signal's name. In the middle of a manhunt that is going viral and turning them into an internet-age Bonnie and Clyde.
Erik and Signal are both Class As—the most dangerous and manipulative criminal profile—but Erik is the ultimate Class A, with ten kills to his name and a secret in his past that will change everything.
As if being hunted down wasn’t enough, Erik is determined to get Signal to admit that she loves him. But Signal is hellbent on crushing her own growing attraction.
It’s a race against time to save the Teen Killers Club from its worst nightmare—having to kill the friends they need more than ever.

When I requested this book I didn't think that it was part of a series but even tho I didn't read the first book I enjoyed reading this second book very much. The first chapter was very gripping so I had to read more to know what would happen. I really like Signal and the romance between Signal and Erik.

This book reminded me of the movie Suicide Squad a bit.

Lily Sparks' writing style is really enjoyable and reads pretty easily. I love how fast-paced this book was and how much fun I had reading this.

I would really recommend this book to any Teen Killer Club fan or if you love teen/ young adult thrillers that are fast-paced.

I had been highly anticipating this sequel to Teen Killers Club... and it didn't disappoint! This book was so addicting to read, keeping me on the edge of my seat and keeping me reading. The characters kept me invested, carrying over the drama and conflict from the first book. The characters do band together to try and take down the director. The growth of the characters through this, especially Signal and Erik was so good. And the ending? We need a book 3!

STOP IT RIGHT FREAKING NOW!!!!!!

I am going to start off by saying that I RARELY if EVER... read series! And I am dying right now. I need book three RIGHT NOW. What even is this book? Thriller and romance all wrapped into one big huge ball of suspense and tension. And the ending, just perfect. I am so happy that I was able to receive an ARC of this book because it introduced me to the first book, which I DEVOURED as well. These characters kept getting better and better. The plot twists and turns made the pacing perfect.
I love Signal. I love Jada, Nobody, Erik, Denis, Javier...
And my god are these some good villains. This book blurs the lines between good and evil.
Also who doesn't just love to question everything? I can't wait for my students to read this book.

I had a huge issue with this book - I stayed up way too late reading it because I couldn't put it down!!! The plot, the characters, and the dialogue all conspired together against me in a deadly combination of addictive text. I was held hostage from the first page to the last. Don't just fear the Teen Killers - the whole thing slayed! Everything I loved about the first book reappeared in this installment, and I want some more!!!
