Exciting and engaging romantic suspense. This is the first one in this series that I have read. It was so good that I want to read all the previous ones and any that follow. I skipped over the intimate moments. Fast paced page turner. Thanks to the publisher for providing a copy via NetGalley.

Oh my word what a read! Dang I wanna be Gemma, lol I wuv Rot-co to! What’s a girl to do when a handsome professor and a beer guzzling dog endear themselves to your little girl. It can’t last, or can it? When does the running stop? This is the question.

I received a complimentary copy of this book from NetGalley. The opinions expressed in this review are completely my own

Book #5 in the Deep Ops series, this is another exciting, suspenseful read with action, mystery, and a gorgeously sweet and sexy single-parent romance. It’s an engaging read from start to finish, and I loved it.

Jethro Hanson is a philosophy professor who has previously worked with the Deep Ops team. But behind his intelligence, good looks and studious appearance is a man with big secrets – he is an ex spy with a dark history and a lot of blood on his hands, and it looks like his past has come back to haunt him.

Gemma Falls is new to town and has begun teaching at the same University as Jethro, and she’s hiding even more secrets than he is. On the run with her three year old daughter she has reinvented herself again and again to escape a violent ex, and she keeps her life as private as possible. So when the handsome professor on campus starts to show an interest, she does her best to keep her distance. But Jethro is stubborn and determinedly helpful, and he recognises the signs of a woman in trouble.

Danger is coming from all angles, and with the Deep Ops crew claiming Jethro as one of their own, everybody is on board to help – even if he does his best to keep them out of it. He knows just how dangerous the threat against him is, and doesn’t want to expose anybody to it, not his friends, and especially not Gemma. But as the threat level increases, he steps in to protect her, and his friends step in to protect them both. And when they finally start working together to keep each other, and Gemma’s little girl, Trudy, safe, they begin to open up to each other, their friendship deepens, and their mad attraction other becomes a passionate romance.

It's a gorgeous love story that is easy, emotional and super sexy, but just as Jethro opens his heart to somebody for the first time, he is facing the unthinkable. He has the skills to defend himself and the people he loves, even if it means becoming the man that he left behind. But the chance of love, family and a fresh start prove to be worth it all.

It’s a fast-moving story with lots going on, and despite all of the intensity, Zanetti manages to bring moments of lightness and fun to the story with the inclusion of the fabulous Deep Ops team. OMG, I loved being back with these characters! Wolfe, as always, made me laugh and stole my heart as Jethro’s self-declared best friend. And as they all rally around Jethro, Gemma, and little Trudy, I loved seeing their wonderful dynamics as they all bounce off each other and show themselves to be the intelligent, witty, give-no-f*cks badasses that they are! And with glimpses of new characters, and hints of stories to come, I’m hoping that this series continues for a long time yet.

I really enjoyed this book, which has all of the excitement, intensity, romance and laughs that I was hoping for.

4 stars!

What a chilling book! Jethro is former MI6. That tells you he is a major badass. Gemma and Jethro have chaos and pain in their past. Too bad it doesn't stay there. The rest of the Deep Ops team is front and center as family is everything. Even Roscoe is his usual self. This is such a well written story and enthralled me.

I am such a sucker for single parent book themes and this one was no different. I fell head over heals with Jet-ro, Rot-co, and Trudy. I want more in this world and I hope we get it! Like what's going on with Serena, and will the twins be getting their stories told as well.

I do also want to say that the story line featuring Gemma's background was predicable, but implementing Jethro's brother was a nice touch and opened up their storyline to many possibilities.

Unforgiven is touted as the 5th book in the Deep Ops series but can easily be read as a standalone. (I did not read the first four and now have a longer TBR list😊)

This book has great suspense and mystery linked with a good dose of romance. It is fast-paced with two antagonists. It breaks the drama with a dose of humour.

Jethro, the MMC, is a former MI6 agent who is now living a simpler life while teaching various classes at the university and sometimes helping the Deep Ops team on their cases. At the university, he meets a new teacher, Gemma Falls, and her adorable 3-year-old, Trudy. First impressions have Jethro thinking ill of Gemma, but slowly this changes as he gets glimpses of the real Gemma.

Gemma has been running from an abusive ex. She is working under an assumed name to earn enough money to keep her and Trudy safe. While Gemma experiences odd happenings making her anxious that her ex has found her, Jethro gets called to a homicide scene where a killer left a note addressed to him. And so, the game of cat and mouse begins.

The Deep Ops team interfere to keep both our MCs safe even as Jethro insists he can handle the situation himself. However, when our antagonists team up, all bets are off, and Jethro does what is needed to keep Gemma and Trudy safe- including calling in his friends for help.

I loved the fast pace and action of the book. The relationship Jethro built with Trudy was sweet, and the one with her mom, Gemma, a lot hotter. However, the book shows that both these characters are game theory experts, but this unique skill is not used in the resolution of the suspense elements. I felt this was a huge, missed opportunity.

Another Gripping Page-Turner

Rebecca Zanetti has done it again. More importantly, she’s introduced new characters to our favorite Deep Ops family, so there’s room for this series to continue for a while. Thank God.

Unforgiven, the fifth full novel of the series, focuses on Jethro (Jet) Hanson, a former MI6 agent who now works as a professor and Gemma Falls, the temporary professor he’s been asked to show around. What readers know immediately is that they both have a tragic past that’s rushing to catch them (and likely will) and that they have chemistry, although they both deny it.

Cue the thrills. Cue the sparks.

Zanetti masterfully weaves the two mysteries together while getting the couple together. There are steamy scenes, but for readers not into romance, they can easily be breezed past. The true treasures in this tale are the mind games and chases provided by the villains. And, of course, cameos by our favorite Deep Ops team, their significant others, and two pets who perpetually steal the show.

The pace is solid, the author perfectly balancing action, romance, character growth, and backstory. She has a large cast, yet I know them like they’re my best friends. I’m anxiously awaiting the next installment so I can visit them again. Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for a gratis copy of the book in exchange for my unbiased opinion.

Gemma has been running from an abusive ex. She is working under an assumed name as a professor at a university. Jethro has stepped down from the Deep Ops team and is also working at the university. Gemma keeps running into Jethro and does not trust him. Jethro’s psychopath brother has escaped prison and is leaving bodies all over the place. Gemma’s ex will never stop looking for her. After Gemma is threatened Jethro goes into protection mode and despite his protests his ex teammates jump into help. There is plenty of suspense in this book, a romance and some lighter moments. Gemma’s daughter is way too cute. This book is part of a series but could be read as a stand alone. Thank you to net galley for an advanced readers copy.

I wasn’t expecting the ‘Deep Ops’ series to continue after ‘Driven’ was released last year, so I was pleasantly surprised when I saw ‘Unforgiven’ available on Net Galley. I just had to request it to catch up with everyone from the previous books.
‘Unforgiven’ is Jethro Hanson’s book. Jethro, the handsome, sexy former MI5 agent who is now trying to live a simple life teaching philosophy at University, when he’s not helping out the Deep Ops team on their cases. It’s at the University that he meets a new teacher, Gemma Falls and her adorable 3 year old Trudy.
All Gemma wants to do is earn enough money teaching to keep her and Trudy safe. She’s been running from her abusive ex for years, trying to stay one step ahead of him. She just wants to keep her head down, do her job and keep Trudy safe.
But danger is following both Gemma and Jethro around. Gemma starts noticing odd things happening around her like broken windows and slashed tyres. And Jethro keeps getting called to homicide scenes where a killer is leaving notes addressed to him. It will take the whole Deeps Ops team to figure out how to try and stop the danger hurtling towards Jethro and Gemma.
This book was exactly what I was in the mood to read. A good, fast pace, romantic suspense. I loved the relationship between Jethro and Gemma and the really sweet relationship between Jethro and Trudy. It was delightful reading about a former lethal MI5 agent reduced to mush by a 3 year old. And it was great to catch up with the characters from the previous books and see how their doing. And I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again - I want a dog like Roscoe! 4 stars

A great addition to Rebecca's Deep Ops series! I've been waiting to hear more about Jethro and his past. In previous books Jethro wasn't part of the Deep Ops team, he had just helped them out on a mission, so it was fun to watch the team full of misfits pull him into their group.

Gemma and Trudy were on the run from someone in their past and popped into Jethro's life when Gemma started working at the same university as him. I enjoyed that Gemma was a single mother. Some of my favorite scenes of the book included Trudy, Gemma's daughter, and her interacting with the Deep Ops men.

If you've enjoyed the Deep Ops series, you should definitely read this. Suspense, action and romance all rolled into one. And of course there is Roscoe and Kat.

I volunteered to review an ARC of this book for NetGalley

This is my 2nd book by this author and the first in this series and it was awesome!

I was invested in Gemma and Jet and loved the suspense, the fast pace and the friends that became family.

This book can be read as a stand-alone, but I think I would have benefited from reading the other books just so that I knew the backstory of the supporting characters from their own books. Especially Wolfe, he seems such a quirky character. So I’m off to grab them!

This was a real page turner for me and with just the right amount of suspense, humour and romance!

A huge thank you to NetGalley and Kensington and Ms Zanetti for the ARC.

Unforgiving😳

Jethro is next up in Unforgiven and finally brings to light what it is he did before moving to the US as well as some hindsight into why he’s doing what he does now. When it appears an enemy from across the pond is now in the US who is targeting him and anyone close to him, he realises he’s going to have to hunt him down before anyone gets hurt😬 When it becomes clear that the new professor, Gemma, is also in danger from this enemy, the team steps in to help her and her child - not realising that more is afoot with them until they go to tell her about the imminent danger❣️

A great story that has a few twists and turns I really enjoyed, with an introduction of two new characters…whom I can’t wait to discover more about and I’m interested in Millie and the lawyer and what’s going to happen with them🤷‍♀️ I received an advanced copy via Netgalley and voluntarily leave my honest review❤️

This is the fifth book in this series, but it shows the depth of the group/family being formed within the Deep Ops Organization. I have to admit, I loved seeing Roscoe - always will I think - but I was sad that we didn't get to see more of his dog zaniness (lipstick wearing, alcohol drinking....).

The actual case this time was a bit odd to me. I did like the addition of Jethro to the group. The whole premise with Gemma was credible, but the Fletcher thing never really set well with me. How he was able to do what he did....well, like I said, it never really gelled. But, other than that, I LOVE the world that has been built around these absolutely CRAZY characters. These men (and women) who are truly outcasts yet have found a home under Angus Force. Now we have a toddler (and two lethal grown twin men) now part of the group. I think the twins might have been added because everyone is paired up already.....possibly?

As always, I seem to love anything Ms. Zanetti writes and this is no different. It was not my favorite of the series, but it was still a joy to read.

Thank you to NetGalley for the opportunity to read and review this ARC. The opinions above are mine and mine alone.

On the run for several years from an abusive relationship, Gemma Falls takes a dream job as a temporary professor at D.C. University. She has used her academic abilities at Game Theory to keep ahead of the man seeking to hurt her. Gemma has a very important secret: a young daughter unknown the monster who has been chasing her relentlessly. Keeping Trudy safe is Gemma’s main goal while trying to have some kind of life where she is not always looking over her shoulder in fear.

One of Gemma’s colleagues, Jethro Hanson, whose British accent and good looks brings him a lot of attention, has also used the university to make a new life after being a part of an ultra-secretive group within MI6. Jet, as he is known, helped out the eclectic Deep Ops group lead by Angus Force who have unorthodox methods for overcoming their foes. Jet does not want back into that life and insists it was a one of; however, when danger comes calling not only for Gemma, but himself as well, he needs their help to survive.

Thrust together with danger all around, Jet and Gemma put aside their mutual attraction, at least initially, to defeat those with deadly intent. Jet’s past has caught up with in the form of a psychopathic, killer brother. Gemma’s former fiancé continues to tract her with evil intentions making her life a nightmare. Jet is determined to protect Gemma and her daughter at all costs with a little help from his friends. As always with Ms. Zanetti’s writing, there are plenty of thrills, chills, and high intensity situations with some romance to sweeten the story along with some quirky humor to lighten the load. This is the fifth books in the Deep Ops series.

After reading Rebecca Zanetti’s You Can Run late last year, I knew she was an author I wanted to read again.
Unforgiven is the fifth book of Zanetti’s Deep Ops series. Although I’ve yet to read the first four books, this one easily read as a stand-alone novel.

Gemma Falls is on the run from her abusive former fiancé, Monty. She’ll do anything to keep her daughter safe. So far, she’s managed to protect Trudy, but when she takes a job at a Washington, DC university, things begin happening to make her believe Monty has finally caught up with her.

Jethro Hansen is a former MI6 agent who is working as a philosophy professor. Troubles arise when his psychotic brother Fletcher, a hired killer, escapes from prison. And Fletcher is out for revenge.

Sparks fly in more ways than one when Gemma and Jethro meet. And both of them are in danger. Jethro takes Gemma to a safe house where members of the Deep Ops team become involved in trying to track down a killer while protecting Gemma and her daughter.

The book is well-paced with plenty of action and a touch of romance. It’s a page-turner, and I found the ending satisfying. It goes without saying I’ll be catching up with all the books of the Deep Ops series.

Thanks to Kensington and NetGalley for an advanced reader copy.

I have voluntarily read and reviewed a copy of this title given to me via NetGalley. I really enjoyed this book. It was really well written and it just had you trying to solve the mystery. I look forward to seeing what’s next from this author.

Gemma is running from an abusive ex. Jethro is MI6 with a sociopathic brother. Their worlds collide with disastrous results. Jethro is joined by others from the Deep Ops world. These misfits form a found family that jump into help. Nothing can be kept a secret from the Deep Ops team. I loved seeing this world come together to build their compound. I loved the banter between everyone in this book.

I love the dog. Roscoe is a dog with a slight alcohol problem. He has a nose for booze, be it wine or rum balls. Roscoe fits in well with his found family.

This one started slow for me, but at the 30% mark I was hooked. It was a very good suspense story with some smexy times for good measure. #5 in the Deep Ops series can be read as a stand alone.

Unforgiven is a fast paced read that I completed in one sitting. Zanetti is great with both character and world building. Having continuous stories in a series where the characters appear in each certainly eliminates the confusion one feels at the start of a new story. I felt like I was revisiting old friends.
