Thank you so much, NetGalley, Macmillan-Tor/Forge and Tor Teen, fior the chance to read and review one of my most anticipated reads of 2022 in exchange of an honest review.

When an unexpected hero returns to Nova city and in Nick's life, everything is turned upside down and with the help of old and new friends, Nick will have to fight for the truth and freedom.
When Burke decides to become major of Nova City, threatening the Extraordinaries lives with hate and violence, Nick, Seth, Gibby and Jazz decide to get back in action, but they are not alone. Helped by their magnificents parents and relatives, the Dad Squad, Lighthouse and new friends on the way, they are more than ready to fight for their own rights to life and fight. And when Owen decides to get back in their lives...everything becomes more and more complicated.

Heat Wave is the thrilling and brilliant finale of The extraordinaries trilogy and I loved every single page of it. Hilarious, witty and extraordinary, this book made me swoon, laugh out loud and smile so much my cheeks still hurt. Like always Nick is a wonderful main character, with his energy and big heart, his relationship with his father and friends, his love with Seth and he's a great narrator. I devoured this book, I couldn't stop reading it, worrying and hoping for the best and TJ Klune delivered a story about love and family impossible not to love and cherish.
This book is hilarious, sweet and some moments are so impressed in my mind I will laugh about them years from now, I already now that.
A wonderful and epic conclusion of one of my favourite trilogy, a story about being hero, love and family. Nick, Seth, Gabby and Jazz will be forever in my heart and I love them so much. They deserve the whole world.

There was no way I was going to be able to wait until July to read this book so big thank you to net galley for letting me read it early!

This series has been one of my favs for a few reasons
1) it’s freaking hilarious no other book has made me laugh as hard as this one did
2) the character relationships. Jazz, Ginny, Seth, and nick have some of the best friend ship chemistry I have ever read. I loved team lighthouse and especially loved how all of the parents were involved
3) the epilogue. I CRIED SO HARD. It felt like the end of an era for me but I’m gonna miss these characters so much

This book definitely covered some more serious topics like police brutality and child abuse.

I love the whole plot of these stories and would definitely recommend.

Heat Wave picks right up where Flash Fire left off.

The crew is trying to enjoy the summer after the disastrous prom that revealed Seth’s powers and Nick’s mom.

The threat from Simon Burke still looms as his rhetoric against Extraordinaries gains popularity in his mayoral campaign. His son, Owen or ShadowStar also seems to be biding his time before making a move.

Nick and Seth are in love, the friend group and parents are right, but something intent quite right.

What is causing the feeling of confusion and unease among The Lighthouse?

A satisfying conclusion to the series. Relationships deepen, there’s an epic battle, loose ends are tied up and we get a happily ever after.

As a Klunatic love the little call outs to his other books throughout.

This finale for The Extraordinaries series definitely lived up to my expectations! This finale was full of action and wrapped up everything really nicely, in my opinion! Like the other books in this series, this book was hilarious! I literally laughed so hard I was brought to tears multiple times. It also had its emotional moments, which also made me cry without the laughter as my heart felt for these characters. In addition, the action was great and kept me constantly reading to know what happened next. The relationships this series has created have been one of my favorite aspects of these books, and this one was no-less. I love these characters so much and have enjoyed this ride with them. Overall, I felt this was a fantastic conclusion to the trilogy and highly recommend it to those who have enjoyed the series thus far!

Thank you, Tor Teen, for allowing me to read Heat Wave early.

I requested the conclusion of this series because I liked The Extraordinaries but didn't love it. I liked Flash Fire a bit more, hoped there would be an upward trend, and that I would ending up loving Heat Wave. Sadly, I didn't. I found the final book of this series, just like The Extraordinaries okay but that's it. This is my personal opinion, and I believe many students will adore this series. I especially recommend these books to those who love high school super hero stories.

I just knew this book would be amazing going in, TJ Klune hasn’t disappointed me yet 😩🤚🏻 This for sure exceeded my expectations. The friendships and bonds between the characters are just perfection. (The dad squad + lighthouse ??? Pls I love it so much hahshdhd ). There is also such a genuine and sweet relationship between Nick Bell and his father. There’s so much growth between the two of them and they are always there to support each other <3 ALSO Nick Bell and Seth are soooo cute together oh my god. Complement each other perfectly. Not gonna lie, I pretty much binged this whole book in one sitting. IT WAS SO FUNNY BUT CUTE AND AAAAAAH. (Wow watch me repeat myself 20 million times in this review). I don’t want to talk much about the plot -to avoid spoilers-but gah I just loved the superhero aspects so so much. All those high stakes scenes for sure kept me on my toes !!!

So happy I was able to read this amazing trilogy <333 Thank you so much to the author and publishing company for the advanced readers copy :D

It's a really good conclusion, with a twist that I didn't see coming! I'm glad I read this, the side characters just pop so much and I love that there's just as much focus on family and friendship as Seth and Nick's relationship.
