Grace and Keira have been friends since they started preschool, and their mum's Julia and Samantha formed an unlikely friendship too. For many years the two families were unbreakable, but then the girls ended up at separate senior schools, Keira made new friends and Grace retreated into herself a little, losing the confidence that having a friend like Keira had given her and, inevitably, the mum's drifted apart too, that is until their lives became entwined again, Grace moved to the same school and Julia, who runs a gardening business started looking after Samantha's garden. When Samantha receives a visit from the police saying that Keira has been attacked and is in hospital, and Grace comes home covered in blood, the nightmare begins for the two mums. Grace is hiding something and Keira is fighting for her life, but how is Julia going to get her daughter to tell her what happened when she won't even talk to her?

Only for My Daughter explores some sensitive topics that are very real in today's mixed up society and shows how teenagers and parents, rightly or wrongly, deal with those situations. The story is told from the perspectives of the four main, all very likeable, characters, mainly set in the present day but with chapters that give a background story every year as the girls grow up. It's a tale of friendships, secrets and lies. As Robinson's previous books it is told with compassion and integrity, the premise is authentic and believable and I was invested in this story from beginning to end, consuming it in less than a day. This talented author knows how to draw the reader in, bringing us fiction that is current and relateable and gets you every time! This is a poignant and, at times, heartwrenching read and I highly recommend it.

I'd like to thank Bookouture and Netgalley for the auto approval, I will post my review on Goodreads now and Amazon on publication day.

I cannot speak highly enough about this author, her books are just fantastic with a great dramatic story line that kept me engrossed from the beginning until the end.

All the characters are so brilliant especially the friendship between them all and what a great ending to a sad story it was just fantastic, nothing negative to say about this book.

Thank you to Netgalley and Bookouture for this great ARC copy which I can thoroughly recommend, well done Emma I can't wait for your next masterpiece.

Why oh why have I never read a book by Emma Robinson? An author who writes with empathy, emotion and delivers a heart-wrenchingly tale is a rare breed indeed. Two mums, Julia and Samantha. Two daughters, Grace and Keira. One daughter is a victim of crime, the other one is the keeper of secrets, is she a victim? Or the perpetrator? With themes of family dynamics, friendship, a mother’s love for their child, and the difficulties faced by teenage girls in today’s society, Only For My Daughter is a beautifully written story that will pull at the most hardened heart strings.

The crimes described by the author are much too common and real, but Robinson treats a difficult subject with empathy and understanding, whilst delving into the depths of human behaviour. Robinson has created living characters that you really care about. You experience the pain, confusion, desperation and fear felt by Julia, Samantha, and their daughters. The author is so convincing it feels like you're living their story alongside them.

I didn’t always agree with the choices Julia made, but there’s nothing stronger than a mother’s maternal instincts and Julia proves she will do anything to keep her daughter safe.one thing I loved about this book was the way the author turned a contemporary family drama into a book brimming with untold mystery and suspense. Only For My Daughter made for a brilliant, interesting read with well-drawn characters and a plot that’s perfectly structured it’s a MUST read for those who enjoy an emotive drama. Highly recommended.

Thank you to NetGalley, the publisher and author for this ARC.

Wow, wow, wow - I thoroughly enjoyed this book and have read it in less than a day. That’s how good i thought it was. The story follows two mums Samantha and Julia and their two daughters Kiera and Grace. I loved that the story was told through Samantha and Julia’s perspectives. I found this to be a very thought provoking read and it asks the questions how far would you go to protect your daughter, would you lie for them, and actually how well do you know your child? I was drawn into the story immediately, and the author captured and held my interest from beginning to end. This is such a beautifully written, captivating book that flowed so well and I loved the parts going back to when the girls were younger and how strong their friendship was. The author has created two strong but very different characters in Samantha and Julia, and I really liked them both and was rooting for them even though they were on different sides here. Kiera and Grace were equally likeable and the author touches on real issues such a self harm, teenage angst, the pressure to fit in, bullying and peer pressure from others to be ‘someone’, and how it feels if you’re just that little bit different as a person.
At times, this is a sad, poignant and heart wrenching read that just gets to you. It really does. I loved this book all the way through, and thought it had the best ending and I will certainly be looking at the authors other books if this one is anything to go by. Can’t fault this read or recommend it highly enough.

An insightful and dramatic novel about the plight of two mothers whose once inseparable daughters are now facing a crisis, each of them on the opposite side of the fence.

Emma Robinson does it again! She is the queen of contemporary fiction with a little twist thrown in. The characters are so well developed and readers get to know them and root for them.

The way Emma tackles important and sensitive issues is remarkable. I felt each character’s pain and growth throughout. Emma clearly showed the love a parent has for a child as well as strong friendships. This is definitely one that will stick with you long after you finish.

Fluffin' Buffin' Cotton Tails! 😯😳🥺🤧

Wooow! This book was a true palate cleanser inbetween my thriller genre reads. Right from the beginning it starts off with a bang, flips you around & the emotions build & fly! It makes you feel for each character and makes you question what you would do if in any of their shoes. So beautifully, heart-wrenchingly explored & written.
Samantha & Julia are both mother's to their teenage daughters, Keira & Grace. The girls have been friends since elementary school. However, over the past few years the girls have drifted apart, as have the mothers. One evening, Samantha's world is shaken when the cops come to her door to let her know Kiera is in the hospital & has been hurt and currently in a coma. When Julia gets home, she finds Grace's clothes soaked in blood with no rhyme or reason for it. Grace is obviously keeping a secret, & Kiera remains in a coma. What could have happened? Is there any connection? How well do the mother's really know their daughters?
The ending to this amazing book, was needless to say, very satisfying. I felt such a pull to each character, to their situations & all along the story feeling close to them. I can't even imagine how each mother could be feeling. This was touching, heart pulverizing, sympathetic & yearning. Just wonderful!

Thank you to NetGalley & Bookouture for this DARC.

I loved this book! It is bang up to date with current affairs in today's society and reminded me why I would never want to go back to my teenage years.

It is a very well written book about family, friendships, secrets and lies and how far we will go to protect our children. The characters are well drawn and the plot authentic and relatable to. I read it in two sittings as I just had to find out what happened.

Highly recommended and an easy 5 stars.

I've read an Emma Robinson before, so I knew what to expect, but Emma's writing shocked me once more. The story is about the strained friendships of two teenagers and their mothers. Sounds simple, but the author cleverly twisted this into a chain of events that makes the book unputdownable. I don't want to give away anything, but this is a brilliant family drama and suspense novel that lovers of this genre must read. I must mention that even if you're new to this genre, Only For My Daughter is an excellent place to start.

Another great read by Emma Robinson who tackles issues in society with empathy and tugs on your heartstrings.
In this novel we meet Kiera and Grace friends since primary school and their mums Samantha and Julia. Kiera is hospitalised after an attack and Grace knows more than she's saying but can Julia find out what appears to be destroying her daughters life.
A story of the power of friendship which was a real page turner, as with all of Emma's books I've read I loved it
Many thanks to Netgalley and Bookouture for the opportunity to read this advanced copy, I am under no obligation to leave my review

Only for My Daughter is another fantastic story by the extremely talented Emma Robinson. I have read quite a few of her books and they have all been emotional stories that made me cry. Only for My Daughter is slightly different. It still has all the fantastic elements of previous books with well written characters that as a reader you actually care about but this one has elements of a psychological thriller with so much tension building throughout the book. Although it did not make me cry, Only for My Daughter is still an emotional rollercoaster of a story but with a dark edge compared to previous books.

I thoroughly enjoyed it and I cannot recommend it enough. I'm looking forward to the next book already.

Thank you to NetGalley and Bookouture for my ARC.

This is my 2nd book by Emma Robinson and I remember loving her last one “His First Wife’s Secret”. This one starts off with a bang. Keira has been badly hurt and her bf Grace is hiding a secret. The 2 families have grown up together and now does this come between them? I really could feel what these families were going through. Another great book!! Thanks to NetGalley and Bookouture for this early release in exchange for my honest review. To be published April 2022

Two mums- Samantha and Julia. Two daughters - Keira and Grace. One daughter a victim of crime the other a possible perpetrator.
One thing in common is a shared friendship. What lengths would the mothers go to , to keep their daughters safe.
An interesting look at family dynamics and friendships. Not much of a story for me but good character development.
Many thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for the opportunity to see an ARC

Fantastic read, I read this in one sitting and couldn't put it down. A sad but wonderful story about how friendships can change over time but when things get thrown at us that we don't expect those friendships become all the more important no matter how old you are. We sometimes have to go through very difficult times to realise who is actually there for us. Beautifully written
