I am a big fan of this series and was thrilled to receive an ARC from Netgalley. This novel is my favorite in this series so far! I raced through this, it was so gripping! Full of twists and fascinating characters. Highly recommended!

It's hard to write about this without giving away elements of the plot, but I found it confusing, artificial and unnecessarily convoluted. There was far too much going on. The little clues in the wording of the interviews were absurd and irritating. I was never sure how old the sisters were meant to be at any given time; they read as older than they were meant to be even at the end I think. The sections recounted by one of the sisters at the police station were spoken in a very literary register, far removed from natural speech patterns, and although this was alluded to at the end I think it was a failing. Finally, I found the whole plot sad and disturbing (although I appreciate that was the point).

On the plus side, there was one good twist at the end. That's the last two in this series that have disappointed me...

A teenage girl, covered in blood, emerges from the woods and calmly approaches Inspector Jonah Sheens, who’s enjoying a day off in the park. The girl appears fine, but tells Sheens it’s her sister he should be concerned about. Little Sister is the 4th book in this series, and Sheens and his team races against time to find a missing girl, and her sister holds the key, if only she would tell them what she knows. This is a gripping, taut thriller, as the girl eerily spins her story to the detectives, taunting them with bits and pieces of a sordid narrative that has the team frantically trying to unravel the mystery. This is one you’ll want to finish in one sitting, as the girl’s story has you on the edge of your seat throughout the book, with plenty of twists that will have you spellbound until the very end. I was glued to the pages with this one, with an intriguing plot and unrelenting tension. This is another outstanding book in this series, can be read as a stand-alone, and a definite 5 star thriller. Little Sister is a compulsively readable novel that I devoured on one sitting.
It’s a story that kept me turning pages, anxious to find out what happened and what would happen.
The suspense builds up through out this book before the twists is revealed.
Such wonderful writing, an engaging story line and one that was absolutely hard to put down and kept me eagerly turning the pages and wanting more.
Little Sister was everything I was hoping it would be and then some.
Lodge did a wonderful job with the writing style here.
I look forward to reading more of this authors work.

Whoa! The twists. I loved this. I didn't realize this book was #4 in a series but it was fine. They mentioned things from the past but it was like making a friend who of course had a back story, not something that made you feel hopelessly lost. The story is told via several police officers and also in first person by the mysterious red haired sister who has turned up covered in blood and who says she won't say where her little sister is until they listen to her whole story.

This book had me guessing and wondering and theorizing. I liked many of the characters and it was just a very clever story. There's suspense, action, intrigue, etc.

So well done! I really enjoyed this one.
