This is a cute nerd romance for teens. Mateo and Bel find themselves both on the robotics team after her mom forces her to switch schools after her parents' marriage implodes (been there - seen it). They both have to shake off their assumptions about one another to work together as a team to win the highly competitive robotics events.
This was a sweet story about some high school students who learn to appreciate each other's differences as well as learn to respect others despite learned generalizations.

This was such a good story, Bel and Teo were the perfect MCs for the plot, and their somewhat enemies-to-lovers romance was great. I liked how much STEM was in the book, and Bel forced back against the gender stereotypes to prove that she was more than worthy to be in the school and on the team, and no one should underestimate her.

As.a math/science nerd, this YA book spoke to my heart. It was a little formulaic, but Bel and Mateo had real chemistry and I enjoyed following their journey together. It was a really cute endeavor!

I received an Advance Reader Copy from the publisher. This in no way impacted on my view.
After joining a new school, Bel is encouraged to join the robotics club. Not really something she's interested in, as she's more of a coder, she finds out that there's only one other girl on the team, and it's very much a testosterone filled nightmare. But the captain of the team, Mateo Luna - who also happens to be captain of the football team too - sees something in Bel, and though they clash heads regularly, he needs her for the team to win. Working together after school, they soon realise that it's not just a working relationship they have, but the potential for romance too.
I don't know what I was expecting with this book, but it was such a good story. Bel and Teo were the perfect MCs for the plot, and their somewhat enemies-to-lovers romance was great. Cutest nerds around😭😭

I loved this book. Idk why it took me so long to read it it. But it was so good! I need the physical copy. It literally had me in from sentence one.

Super cute and just what I needed to get out my reading slump!!! The characters were adorable, quirky, and I enjoyed their love story. I alos love the art for the cover, and the title is what really got me hooked into reading this novel!

Given the diverse characters, the sweet romance, and the high pressuring backdrop, I'd say this book has it all. Despite its flaws, it’s a pleasure to accompany Bel, Teo, and their physical and emotional journey.

I don’t normally read romance books but I requested this one because it was short and YA I don’t always want to read adult Smut. This book was so cute and I loved the STEM aspect of the book. This is a duo pov between Teo and Bel. The connection between Teo and Bel was adorable and I loved how they grew to better understand one another. All the characters even the side characters had so much personality. Neelam the only other girl on the STEM team goes from not liking Bel and having her mean ways to an understanding character. I love when an author gives all characters a personality and not just keep them in the background.

I hate to rate this so low because initially she i requested this I thought i would love it. I just think that ya romance is just not for me and this was just too ya.

I really should've known better than to judge a book by its cover, but I really couldn't help that this book looked so cute.
This book is a romance book, yes. But at its core it's more so about STEM and empowering women to go into science, tech, engineering and mathematics based fields. Bel doesn't think she has what it takes to do engineering. She enjoys it but she can't imagine doing it as a job or what she could do in the future. This book was quite empowering, showing that girls do belong in STEM. I loved the steminist message.
But while I loved the women's empowerment in this book, a few things fell a bit flat for me. For starters, it took me a while to get into this book. I mainly blame writing style for this and I felt like I got used to the writing style too late to really absorb the story. Not to mention, the physics and engineering jargon. Because Bel and Teo talked (and flirted) in engineering and robotics terms, I struggled to understand a lot of things due to my complete and utter lack of understanding of anything physics related.
I think it was mainly due to the physics banter that it took me a while to get into the relationship of this book which was a shame because this book got me cheesy grinning at the end. There were times when I was questioning if I was shipping them or not because there were things Bel and Teo were doing that I sort of raised an eyebrow about. I'm glad they communicated and helped fix things together.
All in all, a cute book but the writing style got the better of me at times.

It was just very YA, too much for me. Maybe for the people it was intended to read it might be a good read, but it didn't work for me personally.

Ya romance has a soft spot in my heart and that too by the author i absolutely adore is a superb combination.
Initially the pace was quite slow but it picked up the pace towards end. The characters were well penned and their interactions were something that kept me smiling and giggling throughout the book. Love the nerd and romance vibes in this.

Audiobook
It was cute but not my favorite didn't enjoy the audiobook the characters were too whiny and annoying

I truly enjoyed this YA rom-com with academic rivals in a stem environment. It’s fast-paced, fun and filled with relatable and lovable characters that will make you laugh and root for them. It was truly immersive and different from what this author usually writes.

I enjoyed this story. Academic rival to lovers has always been one of my favourite tropes and this book did not disappoint.

I love a romance and this was perfection! This author has quickly become a favourite of mine! A great well written book with great chemistry

Thank you NetGalley for this book!
Such a fun lighthearted book with such a cute story line. The characters worked really well through their personalities and I was pining for them to get together the whole book. I absolutely adored how the romance was portrayed in this book (my favourite part being where he memorised Taylor Swift for her). Such a cute and heartwarming read. I really do recommend.

Robots + romance? YES PLEASE! I absolutely adored this contemporary romance where Bel is not only trying to understand what she wants but is besting all boys in the robotics club she accidentally found herself a part of.
I loved the dual POVs between her and Teo and the very carefully crafted portrayal of women in STEM.
Fun, hilarious and quirky. A must read of the summer!

LISTENN this was the definition of adorable. Women in stem, THIS IS ALL I HAVE TO SAY!! This was so light and so fun, such a welcome reprieve from some of the heavier stuff, but this also gave such a beautiful pov of young love i was enamored with these two!!
