Jack and Lizzy have been friends since childhood. Lizzy grew up to be a high-powered attorney in LA while Jack stayed in their hometown to work at his family’s brewery. When Lizzy begins to reevaluate her career and what she wants out of life, she moves to the small town where Jack is to help run a bookstore. From there, Jack and Lizzy reconnect and explore the potential of becoming more.
This friends-to-lovers story had all the makings of a 5-star read, but it just didn’t get there. The characters lacked depth and the romance felt a bit juvenile. The bookstore setting was fun, and overall the story was cute, but it just wasn’t a home run for me.

I love books about books but this one fell a little flat for me. It was ok. I finished it and it was a fun read but unfortunately it was forgettable.

Heartwarming and sweet. Who doesn’t love a good friends to lovers storyline. Throw in a bookstore for the backdrop and I’m hooked. I enjoyed this book, easy reading and fun. It was the perfect beach read for me.

This was a great story. I liked that both characters were able to find themselves THEN find each other in the end. The bookstore element was a fun nod to those of us who love books and being around them all the time. A fun read for those wanting a diverse romance that also has a lot of heart.

"Even when faced with the knowledge that she didn't know who she was or what she wanted in life, she was certain of one thing. She loved Jack."
THIS WAS THE BEST FRIENDS TO LOVERS TROPE I'VE EVER READ. Tbh, I've always been more of an enemies to lovers trope fan, but this book honestly changed my mindset. Lizzy Chung has spent her whole life doing things that follow her mother's expectations. Becoming a lawyer and working in a firm, and now en route to becoming partner have always been the map of her life. However, after a breakdown in court where her anxiety just couldn't handle it, Lizzy takes time off from work and leaves LA to go visit Weldon. That small town also happens to be the place where Jack Park, Lizzy's childhood best friend lives. Lizzy always saw Jack as a bestie, but unfortunately, Jack has always been in love with Lizzy. Sadly, to prevent the friendship from ever getting ruined and losing Lizzy forever, Jack has always had his feelings hidden. However, will the next few weeks in Weldon not only change Lizzy's mind about Jack, but also her perspective on her life choices? Lizzy's real dream is to open a bookstore, and when she sees a local bookstore needing help, she jumps right into the task. Does she want to go back to LA and her nerve-inducing job, or stay in Weldon where she enjoys her dream career? Jack's also got issues of his own when it comes to his career in accounting, and wanting to branch out of the family business. Meanwhile, the more time Jack and Lizzy spend time together, boundaries are getting broken...A MUST READ Y'ALL.

I tried multiple times, but I just couldn't get into this one unfortunately, but I'm sure it's just not for me.

Couldn't get into it at all. Not quite sure what wasn't working, but I wasn't interested. DNF @ 30%. Thank you to the publisher for the advanced copy!

This book was just okay for me. I don’t know if it’s the bookstore lover/owner theme that seems to have been in so many books I’ve read recently (completely by accident) or if the relationship and obstacles in their way felt so low stakes, but I only somewhat enjoyed the read.
If you like a friends-to-lovers romance with very low stakes this book is for you.

Such a sweet romance to read in one sitting! Booked on a Feeling by Jayci Lee is a cute friends to lovers book that amuses you with sweet banter, some hilarious moments, and sweet convos that you don't want to put down. The series in general is also wonderful!

I loved every second of reading this book, honestly couldn't put it down. It was just the kind of entertaining read I needed

An adorable romance that is heavily set in a bookstore? Sign me up! This book was heartwarming and sweet and the friends to lovers trope is one of my favorites. Lizzy and Jack have been friends for decades but a vacation for Lizzy brings their feelings for each other out into the open. This book has romance, self discovery, living up to the expectations of parents, and new friendships. I loved this book and I will definitely be recommending it to any romance lovers out there.

I really enjoyed this second chance friends to lovers romance, where the big city lawyer Lizzie goes to the small town and realizes she is in love with her lifelong best friend Jack… and then has to figure out what she wants out of life and what will make her happy. Lizzie also has serious anxiety issues so take that as a content warning - although I loved seeing that mental health representation.

The writing style was good and I flew through the pages. Again very boring and just sweet. The sweet romance novels don't really do it for me.

I really enjoyed this book. I found the main character a total girl boss who fell apart under pressure and had to pick herself back up. I enjoyed the story line and the step back she took from her day job while trying to continue making her family proud. I found this book a lot of fun and enjoyable.

Booked on a Feeling is a friends to lover story with an overachieving and accomplished main character, Lizzy, and her best friend, Jack. I love books about books and book stores so I was excited to get my hands on Jayci Lee's new book. While I enjoyed Lizzy and Jack's story, there felt like something was missing. There was some frustration at how the story progressed but I was happy with the ending.

This was super cute! all the rom com feels and I loved the childhood crush aspect. I feel like sometimes it sdone really well, like in this story, and sometimes its disappointing. I really enjoyed Leeswriting style and the flow of the story

3.5 rounded up to 4 for GR and NetGalley.
I thought this was a cute and sweet friends to lovers book.
It was a little too cheesy at times for my taste, but I really enjoyed the mental health representation and tbh I wish we had gotten more depth from that.
I liked both Lizzie and Jack - didn't love them, but I certainly didn't hate them. I did like book #1 better, but I haven't had a chance to read book #2 (it's on hold still at my library).
Steam rating: 2/5

Wow. As always, this author did not dissapont me. This was such an enjoyable friends to lovers romance. I understand that it might be a cultural thing, but i did not like Lizzy's mother. She was not a nice person in my opinion. I was truly happy and proud of Lizzy's growth and strength, for doing what she did, something that i'm not quite ready to do. She decided what was important and went for it. I especially loved learning a bit about Korean culture. I'm enjoying this series and can't wait to see what's next in store from this author.
I received a copy of the book via NetGalley and am voluntarily leaving an honest review of my own thoughts and opinions.

This novel is a third in the “A Sweet Mess” series and follow Lizzy Chung, an overachieving lawyer with parental pressure and her best friend, Jack Park, an accounting whiz working for his family brewery in Weldon.
This was a cute and fun book that took place mostly in a bookshop, which I loved! I enjoyed both Lizzy and Jack, their dynamic, and all of the supporting characters. The writing was really good, and it was an easy sweet book to read.
What I thought might have been missing was a little more about their history, I wanted to get to know younger Lizzy and Jack a bit better, but all in all, I enjoyed it.

Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for the EArc copy of this book!
Unfortunately, this one ultimately fell flat for me. I love a good friends to lovers romance story, but for me this one really lacked the angst, tension and longing that I usually look for in my friends to lovers romance. There was nothing terrible, or bad about this book. It was just very average and in my opinion doesn't stand out among the many other romance novels being published these days.
Overall it did have cute moments and I did enjoy the bookstore setting and atmosphere. But the greater plot just fell flat for me.
