Overall it was a very sweet romcom with a HEA. It was wholesome and darling and there was a bookstore what more could you ask for.

This was a very sweet romcom. I really enjoyed watching Jack and Lizzy blossom from best friends to lovers. Although it was rather slow at times, there was a decent plot with lots of heartfelt moments and a few jokes scattered within. A good read especially for those who love bookstores and beer. Thank you to NetGalley and Jayci Lee for this ARC in exchange for my review.

This book was seriously cute. Lizzy and Jack are one of the best “friends to lovers” couples I’ve read in a long time and I really enjoyed getting to see their relationship blossom. I thought the pacing of the book was good; it lagged a little bit in the beginning for me but once Lizzy got to Weldon it really picked up. The ending was expected but I enjoyed it none the less.
Solid 3 stars.

After a win at work leaves her feeling unfulfilled, Lizzy decides to take a long vacation in her best friend, Jack’s, hometown. While there, Lizzy and Jack become closer and explore new feelings. What will happen when it’s time for Lizzy to return home?
I found this to be a quick, enjoyable read. Both main characters were relatable. Well-written and good pacing. There just wasn’t anything that made the book/story stand out from other friends-to-lovers books.

I absolutely crushed through Booked on a Feeling. Is “main character saves a bookstore while falling in love” a trope because it so, I’m here for it.
Lizzy is our leading lady and she is an attorney in LA. She is smart, successful, and sad. Her lifelong friend is Jack who is a small town book keeper for his families brewery. Lizzy escapes to visit Jack while taking a two week break from her very high stress life. From there, we get to see Lizzy find herself, find new supportive girl friends, and fall in love.
Jack and Lizzy’s story is so lovely. The attention to detail in their back story was excellent, their families contribution (positive and negative) was crucial, and I spent a lot of time on Pinterest finding recipes for all of the yummy Korean foods I was reading about. I felt like I learned a lot about culture, families, and society pressure, while enjoying two fantastic characters. I highly recommend this! It is the perfect summer read.

This book was a very wholesome and sweet read!
The tropes in this book: childhood friends to lovers, guy falls first, miscommunication
Overall, I think this was a very sweet story, and I love when books involve someone who loves reading. I found it especially cool that this book was set in Kern County, and I reside in Kern County myself. The small town vibes were definitely present in this book.
To me, this story reminds me of a sweet romcom that I would watch on Hallmark with my mom once and then not really think much about it again. It would be a great read for when you need something quick and easy. There were not really any plot twists or moments where I wasn't expecting the outcome, and the storyline itself didn't really stick out to me. However, it was overall a sweet read. With that being said, this book is the third one in this series, but I read it as a stand alone. I do not know if my thoughts would be any different if I read the other books.
Thanks so much to NetGalley and St. Martin’s Press/St. Martin’s Griffin for sharing letting me read an eARC in exchange for my honest thoughts!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I loved this book! I felt equally connected to both main characters which is definitely rare! The representation felt genuine and not forced, the storyline was adorable, and the characters reactions were spot on. I would definitely love to read more from this author!

This was a good read but a little slow for my liking. Two friend who have been friends since teen or preteen years aren’t so happy with their careers. It’s a friends to lovers. Guy is in love with friend who doesn’t realize it. Throughout the book you see that unravel both in their love life and personal life.

DNF @ 30% - I thought this one was going to be a winner this year, but sadly it did not live up to the hype as I thought. the characters were mediocre, the storyline relied too much on prior knowledge and focused on telling rather than showing. I didn’t think it was going to play out the way it was, which was beneficial, but I didn’t have the motivation to keep going with characters that didn’t have any romantic connection.

Thank you to Netgalley for sending this to me in exchange for an honest review !!
So, i unfortunately had to dnf this book, it was cute BUT i just felt like i wasn’t going anywhere with it, felt no connection at all to any characters, no build-up as well. I really tried to continue but i just didn’t have it in me to continue.

I LOVED THIS BOOK! all the warm and fuzzy feelings, and who doesnt love a best friends to lovers arc.
High power attorney takes a break back in her hometown and gets to spend more time with her best friend as they work together in a local bookshop...
The characters and interactions were so real and the tension was so palpable! My heart ached for the love interest throughout the entire book and there were also deep and serious issues touched upon besides the romantic arc. Cant wait to read more by this author!

When Lizzie is feeling overwhelmed by her big city law firm in LA she heads to nearby town Weldon for a vacation, which happens to be where her childhood friend Jack lives. Lizzy rents a place above a bookstore and ends up forming a connection with the store and it’s owner. Lizzy’s time in Weldon forces her to explore her relationship with Jack and whether law is the right path for her.
While the story is widely predictable, I couldn’t wait to find out what happens. The writing is playful and covers some of my favorite tropes (which is discussed in what felt like a 4th wall break, which I loved). It’s also a book about books which is a must read for me. A great summer read! Highly recommend.

I loved Booked on a Feeling! In Lizzy Chung, Jayci Lee gives us a relatable romantic lead. She's a Korean American lawyer that consistently proves her worth in the firm but she suffers from anxiety. Her first trial brings this to the fore. Her experience in Big Law is overall positive - a generous mentor, supportive colleagues, etc. but she takes a step back to regroup in a small town outside of LA.
During the three week "regroup" Lizzy Chung focuses on herself. She spends time with Jack Park, her childhood best friend, who manages the business side of a family owned brewery. She offers her time to a local bookstore and helps turn the business around.
Friends scared to move into romance, family pressures, scenes with delicious food, and small business concerns make Booked on a Feeling a delightful read!

I really wanted to love this more than I did. I skimmed a good chunk of it, perhaps it was a lack of connection with Jack and Lizzy. I also found the amount of food descriptions really odd and a turn off. This book just wasn't right for me but others may enjoy the friends to lovers, small town vibe!

Booked on a Feeling is a hit! When two best friends decide to see if they can make it as romantic partners in a small California town.
This story had depth that made it more than a breezy romantic comedy. The writing was exceptional, the dual point of view narration helped me see Lizzy & Jack fully. I understood what they wanted, their pressures and motivations. Booked on a Feeling doesn't shy away from hard topics like strained family relationships, external expectations and being true to yourself. I ended up highlighting many passages and was giddy at the Tardis and Lego movie references. I highly recommend this book.

This book was absolutely delightful and exactly what I needed to kick off summer - the perfect beach read! A light romance with endearing characters and a fun storyline that involved: small town charm, sprucing up a cute independent bookstore (truly a book lovers dream), finding yourself, family, friendship and love!
What more could you ask for??
If you’re looking for a book to make you smile, laugh and swoon this one is for you!
Thanks to the author, Netgalley and St Martin’s Press for giving me the opportunity to read an ARC of this fantastic book in exchange for my honest review! I will definitely be buying a copy of this book for my own library when it is published on July 26th, 2022!

Who doesn't love a cute romance that starts with a great long time friendship? The characters are well developed and relatable (doesn't every girl struggle with disappointing her mother?). Throw in a love for independently owned bookstores and you have the perfect story. Very cute enjoyable read that I recommend.

I enjoyed this second friends-to-lovers second-chance-romance. Jack and Lizzy are likable, and I enjoyed the chemistry they shared after twenty years of friendship. While predictable, it was in the comfortable way.

I truly enjoyed this book. It was a quick read full of hidden feelings, big decisions, and mental health battle. I enjoyed the main character being an Asian-American lawyer who kicked butt at her job . I also enjoyed reading a story that highlighted anxiety and panic attacks. I enjoyed the friendship between the main too and reading about that relationship and overcoming hard decisions and choices to take a chance.

Cute romantic comedy centered around a bookstore! What better way to start a romance than around books. The bits of culture sprinkled throughout adds the extra flavor that’s needed. Such an easy read. Lee makes you feel the connection from the beginning!
