Thank you to NetGalley for giving me an ARC in exchange for an honest review!!

I did not enjoy this one as much as I thought I would. I did not like the characters. The spend 50% of the book fantasizing about each other and the other 50% doing stupid things that ruins their relationship.

The writing felt clunky and the romantic scenes were super corny.

Unfortunately could not get into this book, I feel like NetGalley doesn’t do a good job of letting you know that a book is part of a series. Therefore when I started reading this I felt confused and was missing background information on the characters. I didn’t feel like there was any chemistry between them either and because of that I didn’t really enjoy the book.

Lizzy Chung decides she needs a break from her demanding job as an attorney in LA. She decides to take a three week leave and spend it with her best friend, Jack Park, in his small town a few hours outside of LA. She doesn’t realize that Jack has been in love with her since they were 10 and she can’t help but notice that he is no longer the kid she spent her summers with, but a man. Can they both manage to get the careers they dream of, and each other, without ruining their friendship?
I enjoyed this book. It was a fun, light-hearted, quick read. The only thing that I didn’t love was the back and forth of perspective. Sometimes it took me a few paragraphs to figure out whose perspective I was in. I think some labeling could have helped that. I enjoyed the characters and Jack’s family was great. I loved the bookstore setting that much of the book took place in, because who doesn’t love an Indie bookstore! I think the author did a good job of capturing the conflicting emotions of the characters as their relationship evolved and their lives transformed. I recommend!
I was provided the book by the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

What a cute book! Great storyline- good characters. Loved that Lizzie was obsessed with books and to-do lists!

I really appreciate the opportunity to read and review this book but unfortunately this book just wasn't for me. I had a hard time relating to Lizzie and Jack. Their whole relationship just seemed very juvenile to me. I also wish I was given more of a backstory on their friendship. If a man is gonna wait 20 years for his friend to fall in love with him at least give me a backstory on how he fell for her.

But on a positive note i wanted to mention that I thought the author did an amazing job with the anxiety representation.

The title and cover of this one definitely drew me in right away! A little slow for me for most of the book, but did pick up about 60% of the way through. Cute story though and glad I finished it!
Thank you @stmartinspress and @netgalley for the chance to read this ARC!

After winning her first big trial as an LA attorney, Lizzy Chung takes a three week leave of absence to go to the small town where her life long best friend lives. The apartment she rents is above a bookstore, and she immediately befriends the owner and jumps head first into helping her revamp the store (dragging her best friend along to help). Loved the banter between Lizzy and Jack

Booked On a Feeling follows best friends Jack and Lizzy. Jack has had feelings for Lizzy for decades but never wanted to act on his feelings in fear of losing her altogether. Lizzy has always thought of him as her best friend. Lizzy decides to take a vacation and ends up staying in Jack’s city and drags him into a project at a bookstore and they decide to give a relationship a try.

To be honest at the beginning I wasn’t sure I was going to like the story but I’m glad I gave it chance and kept reading. I did not enjoy Lizzy working as a lawyer but once I got past it I realized that the was the point. Once Lizzy decided to take time off is where the book really begins. I’m not sure I’m completely sold that Jack and Lizzy have been friends for THAT long but that’s being nit picky. I like them together as friends and even more as a couple- especially their banter.

it's soo cheesy it's cringey. and i cannot believe jack is a 30 year old man because he acts like he's 15

A sweet and slightly (delightfully) cheesy friends to lovers. When I first started the book I was a bit confused with the title but it all come together so nicely.

Overall, I loved this book. there were multiple times I thought it was cheesy. At first, I thought it was silly but as I kept reading it was because the characters were cheesy and I ended up loving it and them.
The ending made my heart so warm and happy. This is definitely a book to read if you want something light hearted with sweet characters just trying to figure their lives out.

Booked On A Feeling by Jayci Lee is the ultimate friends to lovers romance book we need to be reading this Summer! It follows Lizzy Chung, a successful lawyer from LA and her childhood best friend, Jack Park. Lizzy decides that she needs to take a break from the hustle and bustle of LA and decides to spend 3 weeks in her best friends hometown outside the Sierra Nevada.

This book has all of the qualities of a cute, cozy, romance book. A small town, friends to lovers, second chance at love, bookstores, a bakery, a brewery, a couple of spicy scenes, and some good laugh out loud moments. I thoroughly enjoyed my time reading Booked On A Feeling.

Thank you NetGalley and St. Martin's Press for the eARC of this book!

overall, this book was a fast paced, easy, lighthearted romance that is perfect for romance readers looking for a quick read. i enjoyed my reading experience as i learned more about lizzy and jack as individuals and as a couple. there were a lot of moments that i didn’t see much intellectual chemistry between the two of them though. it seems like more of a sexually driven relationship despite the fact that they’re supposed to be childhood best friends. i loved the writing style because it was so easy to read and just very easygoing on my romantic heart. i loved the moments with shannon and the bookstore and i love the interior designing pictures that i had in my head. i want nothing more than to try all of the sweets that were mentioned in this book, too. i loved the whole idea of them being 30 and trying to grow into their own people despite the expectations set upon them by both themselves and the people that love them and i think that whole plot line just added a whole element to this book. that alone added a star for me. i’d recommend this book to anyone looking for a quick pick-me-up. it isn’t mindblowingly great as far as romance books go but it was just what i needed! 3/5 stars!

special thank you to netgalley and st martin’s press for sending an arc in exchange for my honest opinions.

(3.5 stars) I really loved the idea for this book, but it just felt like something was missing. the tension in the first half of the book was incredible and it pushed me to turn the next page. But then the tension fizzled out and they were in a relationship by the halfway marks. this was clearly not meant to be a slow burn romance, which bummed me out completely.

Jack loved Lizzy for twenty years! Show me the tension! The pining! Make us wait for her to fall in love with him the same way he had to for all those years!

I think making it a slowburn would have fit this story much better. Instead of dating, I would have loved to see Lizzy in denial of her feelings since she was only going to be in Weldon for three weeks. The idea of a “trial period” for dating didn’t really work for me, since inevitably she was going to leave. This also would have made the blow up of Jack leaving and Lizzy staying much more frustrating, because it would feel like the pair would never get their chance at love.

I still thought their relationship was super cute, I just wish Jack used words other than “adorable”. It got a little repetitive.

Also!!! The “it’s not my dream, it’s YOURS” not only made one appearance, BUT TWO. I laughed a little. It was too cliche I couldn’t help it.

I was pleasantly surprised by the smut, only because I was expecting a cutie YA ish romcom. I was a little bummed the smut was fade to black tho, because it was so graphic, and then the chapter always ended before the climax, which felt weird?

Despite my critiques, I did enjoy reading this book, it was quick and easy and perfectly enjoyable.

Lizzy is an overachiever, a lawyer working at a prestigious law firm and in the process to make partner. During her first trial, Lizzy had a panic attack and fainted. After the trial feeling burnt out Lizzy takes three weeks off work and heads to Weldon to try and figure out what’s going on and what went wrong. Weldon is a small town in California where she spent her summers when she was younger with her best friend, Jack. Jack never expected to see Lizzy is Weldon, let alone spending 3 weeks with his crush. Only, Lizzy doesn’t know about the long time crush he’s had, and he wants to keep it that way. He wants to get over his crush, instead of risking their friendship. Until one day Lizzy decides to help a local bookstore owner fix up the place and gets jack to help.

I haven’t read to many friends to lovers but this book was really cute. I felt like the characters could have had a little more depth, a little more of a back story, they just didn’t really feel complete. Other than that I liked the overall writing. I love a book about a bookshop, and I loved following along with the way the bookstore was transforming. I loved the very real look at anxiety and mental health and how much it can change based on your situations. Also Lizzy’s mom frustrated me so much I just wanted to yell at her for Lizzy.

I received an advance review copy from the publisher via Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

Thank you to St. Martin's Press and NetGalley for the advanced readers copy.

Lizzy and Jack are childhood best friends. Jack has loved Lizzy since they were ten but she has no idea. They are both struggling to find their place in the world especially with their families high expectations. Their friendship crosses into romance when they finally find themselves living in the same place for a while. As always a few bumps in the road can be expected.

A sweet and steamy, but still pretty tame, friends to lovers romance. An enjoyable read and I loved the representation! No complaints here!

I won't lie. This book just wasn't my cup of tea. Something thing about this book just didn't make me want to keep reading it.

Complete honestly the first chapter just made me not want to read the book. The way the character was written in that introduction just threw me off of wanting to read

Booked on a Feeling by Jayci Lee is a fun summer read. Lizzy is a to-do list lover who needs a break from her high stress job of being an LA lawyer. Jack, her best friend, is brilliant in all kinds of ways, but still trying to find his path. The only thing they can be sure of is their friendship, but could it be even more? I love the concept of building love from a lifelong friendship. The fact that a bookstore is often the setting makes me like this book even more.

Lee did a wonderful job making the characters feel real. She captured the magic in everyday moments. Lizzy and Jack didn’t need extravagant things or over the top experiences to enjoy their time together.

The down to earth feel of the characters also made it so easy to connect with them. Lizzy suffers from panic attacks while Jack questions his value working at his family owned brewery. These two experience real, raw internal conflicts to which many readers will relate.

Their journey together is full of nerves, laughter, passion, love and a little uncertainly. Thank you Jayci Lee and St. Martin’s Press for the advanced copy! 4 out of 5 stars for Booked on a Feeling!

This was a cute friends to lovers that was an easy read. I loved how the banter between best friends turned steamy. There were a few things that seemed kind of rushed, but the more I thought about it I realized a friends to lovers will always seem that way because they are already so familiar with each other.
I wish there had been more closure with her mom since her mother was not happy with her career and her love interest. We never hear back about that.
I did love the epilogue.

This was such a fun cute read and look forward to reading more from this author.

A sweet story about two life long friends who become more. Both are trying to figure out what they want outside family obligations and expectations when they find their friendship has become more. A great weekend escape

Booked on a Feeling by Jayci Lee was such an enjoyable, light-hearted read. The friends to lovers story of 30-year-old best friends was really heartwarming and adorable. Lizzy and Jack were great characters and very relatable as they tried to find their passion and path in life. I liked that both characters were from Korean families because we got to experience the dynamics that that caused as they were on their journey of self discovery and love. A lot of this plot largely centers around an Indy bookstore which was a book lovers dream place to fall in love.
