I was instantly in love with the book when I saw the cover and also the title. Over the course of the read, it definitely was a slow burn romance but I had a difficult time connecting with the characters and the rashness of some of the statements and giving up on things, etc.

The third installment in the series delivers on the cozy feeling, but the lack of humor and the repetitive miscommunication and "will they or won't they" dynamic between the main characters was frustrating. The writing style is good and the chemistry between the characters is strong, but the predictable story development and the fact that the main antagonist is far away detract from the overall enjoyment of the book. While it is not as good as the previous installments, "Booked on a Feeling" is still an enjoyable read with a sweet romance. The theme of deciding whether to risk a friendship for romance is relatable, and the journey is sweet. Overall, it was a satisfactory read, and the author should continue the series if possible.

The premise of this one was very promising. I’m a sucker for friends to lovers. Unfortunately, the friendship didn’t ring authentic or well developed. The storyline was cliched. I enjoyed the book store setting and the small town, and Jack is sweet. I found their conflict to be annoying. Thanks to NetGalley for the ARC to review.

I was hooked on this book! Booked on a Feeling by Jayci Lee is a slow-burn friends to lovers novel that people pleasing over achievers will not be able to put down.

If you are someone who craved academic validation, you’ll be able to relate to Lizzy. She’s a stressed out attorney’s looking for a break. Throughout this story she finds not just a vacation, but romance, and herself.

Jack is the quintessential, golden retriever book boyfriend. After pining over Lizzy for 20 years, will he finally win her heart? Much like Lizzy, Jack learns more about what he wants from life aside from romance by the end of the book.

All-in-all, this was a cute read! Like I mentioned before, it is a slow-burn with a lot of miscommunication. My biggest issue was with how quickly everything resolved itself in the end. It almost seemed too easy. The spice level is about a 2.5/5. There were some open door scenes but nothing too graphic. Picture sappy romance love and that’s the kind of spice we’re talking about.

So if you are a fan of romance novels, ho ahead and check this one out! And if anyone tries to disparage your love of romance novels, just remember these wise words from supporting character Shannon, “There’s no bond stronger than the one forged over bashing romance haters.”

A big thank you to Jayci Lee and St. Martin’s Press for giving me the chance to read an ARC of this book! Please know that all opinions expressed in this review are my own.

As someone in law school, I just felt this book on a spiritual level. I know that to some it might seem rash to completely leave it all but in all honesty considering how high stress it is in this field to me it makes perfect sense to have this idea in your head that something would finally make it so you would achieve your ultimate goal and when it does not happen just breaking. I think that as a whole this story is so cute but it also touches on what it is like to be so career focused that you have a hard time remembering you are also a person. Friends to lovers is also such a fun trope and overall I just enjoyed this book.

The description of this book made me think it would be a great read but unfortunately it fell short. I loved that the setting of the story took place in a bookstore because I am a huge reader and love books. To me this was the best part of the book because I just couldn't get into the story and it was honestly hard to finish it. The characters were hard to connect with and they just felt off to me. Overall this book wasn't terrible but I feel it could be improved. Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the advanced reader copy.

Thank you so much to NetGalley for giving me the opportunity to read this book!

I was obsessed with this cover the minute i saw it, I mean as a reader how can i not! But unfortunately the book itself wasn’t for me maybe cause I had impossibly high expectations.

So this is a extra slow burn best friends to lovers small town romance. But I guess if you love friends to lovers trope a lot and okay with reading a really slow paced novel then I guess this is the book for you. I was just not the right audience for it which was upsetting but okay because I didn’t hate anything in the book itself i just couldn’t enjoy it as much as I hoped i would.

Hope it finds the right audience and hope the author writes an enemies to lovers novel that is steamy cause i liked her writing style!
Best of luck!

2.5/5

A sweet, if slow-burning friends-to-lovers romance novel, full of small town charm, Perfect for bookish-romance lovers who want something cozy and enjoy a slower-paced romcom.

Very cute friends to lovers romance. I enjoyed the nods to the joys of reading/books and even the subtle critiques of big law firm culture. I slso thought it was interesting to have the man be the one scared of being heartbroken.

Cute book about two bookish best friends falling in love. The premise is every book lover’s dream. The book can be slow and drag a bit sometimes but it’s a good light read

I DNF this book. I just couldn't get into it, even though I really wanted to. I think it has a great premise and I'll try again in a few months. I will update if I can get back into it and finish it.

A fun best friends to lovers story that I felt I could really relate to the main character. Highly recommend. Great representation of anxiety and panic attacks.

Thank you Netgalley and the publisher for an advanced copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. This was fine, I always think I'll enjoy a romance and often end up disappointed by all the cliches.

This was an awesome read. Fast-paced but still well developed. I loved the exploration of an old friend coming back into your life. I have already recommended to friends!

I LOVE THEM!!!
However, the book felt bland and didn't really expand on details that I would have liked. It was just cute and there wasn't any good banter and this was a slow.... slow... burn. I don't think I would read it again but I would reccomend to a mom book club in the nicest way possible.

I expected more from this book. While it was a fun read, I had more on my mind when reading this. Maybe it could have been expanded more. I did enjoy the characters though, they were delightful to read!

Lizzy is an upcoming attorney, she's itching for partener in her firm. But is it really her dream? Or her mothers? After a public panic attack and huge win, lizzy decides that she needs to take a break. She heads to her best friend, Jack, hometown for a vacation and finds answers to questions she didn't know she had.

I usually perfer an enemies to lovers type story but this friends to lovers trope was very cute! I really enjoyed the setting of Weldon, small town - everyone knows each other - prolific family business with her best friends family. I also enjoyed the asian family inspiration although, I feel like it was only a scratch on the surface. I would have liked to know more about both of the lead characters families and how it inspired their life choices. A lot of this felt really surface level, but I definitely enjoyed my time. The writing was easy and enjoyable to read, I felt like I could read start to finish with no problem.

Overall, I would have liked to get a little deeper but it was a sweet romance. I would love to continue to learn about Lizzy and Jack's love story and hopefully get to know their families and traditions a little more.

I think that this was a sweet book & it was more of a lighter read. I was expecting a bit more but overall it was a great read .

I think some parts were very dragged out that I found myself getting distracted. But it can be that I was having a shorter attention span due to exams.

I need to read the rest of the series but this was a good read & i would recommend it for someone who is in this type of mood.
