First ARC I’ve ever been approved for!
Read so quick! Lizzy and Jack’s story is just so sweet and I enjoyed it… and I’m typically more drawn to books with a lot of crazy drama and a bit dark. These characters have depth and you can tell the author took the time needed to develop so that their story had heart and growth -within their changing relationship and then in their separate lives where they are trying to figure out their own ways to feel happy and valued. Definitely would recommend to those readers looking for an endearing story that’s rooted in an almost life long friendship.

A very big thank you to St. Martin’s Press and NetGalley for the advanced copy and the opportunity to share my thoughts!

What I loved:
- second chance
- childhood best friends
- the cover is so cute
- boy falls first (ish)

What I didn't love:
- I got very bored at times, I honestly just didn't feel the chemistry between the two characters.

It was a cute read! I recommend reading Booked on a Feeling after you have read a very sad book :)
Thank you to NetGalley for the arc!

This is such an adorable read! It’s super heartwarming and sweet and the characters are amazing.

Lizzy and Jack are best friends. Lizzy is a lawyer in Los Angeles and Jack works at his family’s brewery in a small town called Weldon. Jack is in love with Lizzy.

Jack is such a great book boyfriend! He’s caring, thoughtful and protective. I love him!

Lizzy is so relatable. She is unhappy with her career choice and family issues. She also suffers from anxiety, which I thought was portrayed really well. She felt very real and I enjoyed that!

This is a great best friends to lovers read and there is a lot of great talk about books. Who doesn’t love a book about books?

Booked on a feeling:
Tropes: Friends to Lovers, Slow burn... I ream really slow burn.

Lizzy is a work-a-holic attorney, all she wants to do is make partner. During her first case she passes out while giving her opening speech to the Jury. Her best friend Jack of 10+ years is in town and looking for work so that he can get out of his small town and be close to his best friend Lizzy.

After winning her case Lizzy decided to take a vacation to recharge her batteries after working herself to death for 5 years to get to where she's at. He heads to Weldon where Jack is from and the two decided to spend as much time as possible with each other while she is in town.

Jack and Lizzy of course have insane crushes on one another... Will they expose their feelings to one another before Lizzy has to leave? Will she choose to stay behind with Jack and find another career? Will Jack get a call back from a place he interviewed at in LA?

So this book sounded so good and Im thankful for Net Galley and St. Martins press for giving me a chance to read this book.

One thing I learned about myself. I'm not a fan of Friends to lovers. I thought I would enjoy that trope but honestly its not for me.

I found the writing a little to bland and at some points I felt the Author, Jayci Lee was trying to had. I do enjoy romcoms, but usually the Fake dating trope and enemies to lovers, but I decided to give this book a go.

I will say its a very quick and easy read if that's something you are looking for. Although the slow burn was killing me, but I can see why people like the slow burn trope, in this cause it wasn't for me. I prefer enemies to lovers slow burn with tons of bantering.

I wish I could say I enjoyed this book more, but it wasn't for me, but I can see a lot of people really enjoying this.

I really wanted to love this book but I didn’t. It was a okay read. Very predictable but that is fine. Nothing about it make me excited though. At times it felt like I was forcing myself to keep reading. Sadly I feel very indifferent about it. The ending was sweet though. This is my first time reading a book by Jayci Lee and I’m not sure if if will give her other books a try or not.

Lizzy and Jack are destined to be together but they don't know it yet. Jack is harboring a 20+ year crunch while Lizzy is trying to find herself. The end is predictable and foreshadowed very early on in the novel. Overall it was a delightful read.

Unfortunately I did not enjoy this book.. I always try to give slower books the benefit of the doubt and read at least a quarter of the book. In this case, not only was I near skimming the pages, but I was just bored. Our two main characters are childhood best friends who have been developing feeling for each other for quite some time. Despite this, we’re given virtually no backstory to our two main characters and I found myself not caring for either character and their developing romance. Further, I just couldn’t relate to either of them. Quite disappointed, but thank you nonetheless to NetGalley for the free arc in exchange for my honest review.

This book was the novel equivalent of a warm bath and a hot cup of tea. I knew I'd love it when Lizzy treated herself to bubble tea and cake, and from the way Jack loved her since they were children. This is a friends-to-lovers romantic comedy at its best because the love in this story is palpable. It's so clear that these characters belong together, and as a reader it's incredibly satisfying when they do. I enjoyed their banter, and their love, respect, and kindness toward each other. Jack was so sweet and considerate, while also managing to be devastatingly sexy, while I'm disappointed that Lizzy isn't real because I would love to be friends with her. She was hilarious in the way she messed with Jack in the most loving ways, and I admired how she ran for what she wanted, no holds barred. If you want a feel-good read, this needs to be on your list. This needs to top your list. Thank you so much to Netgalley and St. Martin's for giving me an arc in exchange for a fair review.

It's a cute book.
The characters are lovable, funny and easy to relate to.
I do wish they acted on feelings are bit faster, but overall, the whole bff's to lovers trope is always a great one.

This book had a great combination of chemistry, tension, and real world problems that people face. I thought the main characters were relatable and had good character building throughout. The best friends to lovers trope isn’t my favorite, but the book quickly had me rooting for these two to have a happy ending. The book taking place in a bookstore was the icing on top of a great story.

Thank you NetGalley and St. Martin's Press for the ARC!

3.5 Stars!
Coming out July 26, 2022
Thank you to Netgalley and St. Martin's Press for letting me have an ARC copy to review!

This book was SUCH a joy to read! Loveable characters, a fun story, a BOOKSTORE (!!!) what more could you ask for?
For this book, I want to lay out my pros and cons of the story as to why I rated it the way I did.

Pros:
-The characters! Lizzy and Jack are sooo cute and funny.
-The humor. I found myself laughing out loud reading this book.
-Realistic mental health portrayal. While this isn't the *main* plot, Lizzy dealing with anxiety and being honest about how it affects her life is so refreshing to read about-- especially in a romance.
-I LOVED learning about Korean food and culture. I thought it added a level of depth to the characters rather than only stating they are Korean. We got to see their culture come alive!
-The romance! This book is so light-hearted and fun. It felt like a breath of fresh air or warm baked cookies (friends to lovers x pining for each other x not wanting to ruin their friendship with the relationship).

Cons:
-Pacing. For me, some of the book seemed superfluous. I found myself grazing over the words because it didn't feel like every scene was driving us towards the end.
- A little trope-y. HOWEVER, I know tons of readers who love certain tropes, and I think overall it's well-executed.

Overall, this book is adorable and any lover of romance I think will enjoy it! If you want a relaxing and cute summer read, this is definitely the one for you!

I received this e-Arc from NetGalley in exchange for my honest review.

This story is marketed as a very sweet friends to lovers romance. It is filled with the frustrating moments of stubbornness and insecurities that comes with the territory. I realized reading this book that it isn't my cup of tea. I found the story, despite being sweet, very slow to progress and it didn't really catch my attention. I couldn't grow attached to the characters. I agree with other reviewers that the story lacked the appropriate amount of background to help the reader attach to the characters.

I got over halfway through before I DNF'd. Others really enjoyed the book so don't let me review sway you - read it for yourself and decide!

Thank you to NetGalley for giving me an ARC in exchange for an honest review!!

I did not enjoy this one as much as I thought I would. I did not like the characters. The spend 50% of the book fantasizing about each other and the other 50% doing stupid things that ruins their relationship.

The writing felt clunky and the romantic scenes were super corny.

Unfortunately could not get into this book, I feel like NetGalley doesn’t do a good job of letting you know that a book is part of a series. Therefore when I started reading this I felt confused and was missing background information on the characters. I didn’t feel like there was any chemistry between them either and because of that I didn’t really enjoy the book.

Lizzy Chung decides she needs a break from her demanding job as an attorney in LA. She decides to take a three week leave and spend it with her best friend, Jack Park, in his small town a few hours outside of LA. She doesn’t realize that Jack has been in love with her since they were 10 and she can’t help but notice that he is no longer the kid she spent her summers with, but a man. Can they both manage to get the careers they dream of, and each other, without ruining their friendship?
I enjoyed this book. It was a fun, light-hearted, quick read. The only thing that I didn’t love was the back and forth of perspective. Sometimes it took me a few paragraphs to figure out whose perspective I was in. I think some labeling could have helped that. I enjoyed the characters and Jack’s family was great. I loved the bookstore setting that much of the book took place in, because who doesn’t love an Indie bookstore! I think the author did a good job of capturing the conflicting emotions of the characters as their relationship evolved and their lives transformed. I recommend!
I was provided the book by the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

What a cute book! Great storyline- good characters. Loved that Lizzie was obsessed with books and to-do lists!

I really appreciate the opportunity to read and review this book but unfortunately this book just wasn't for me. I had a hard time relating to Lizzie and Jack. Their whole relationship just seemed very juvenile to me. I also wish I was given more of a backstory on their friendship. If a man is gonna wait 20 years for his friend to fall in love with him at least give me a backstory on how he fell for her.

But on a positive note i wanted to mention that I thought the author did an amazing job with the anxiety representation.

The title and cover of this one definitely drew me in right away! A little slow for me for most of the book, but did pick up about 60% of the way through. Cute story though and glad I finished it!
Thank you @stmartinspress and @netgalley for the chance to read this ARC!
.
After winning her first big trial as an LA attorney, Lizzy Chung takes a three week leave of absence to go to the small town where her life long best friend lives. The apartment she rents is above a bookstore, and she immediately befriends the owner and jumps head first into helping her revamp the store (dragging her best friend along to help). Loved the banter between Lizzy and Jack

I received an ARC copy via NetGalley to read and review.

Booked On a Feeling follows best friends Jack and Lizzy. Jack has had feelings for Lizzy for decades but never wanted to act on his feelings in fear of losing her altogether. Lizzy has always thought of him as her best friend. Lizzy decides to take a vacation and ends up staying in Jack’s city and drags him into a project at a bookstore and they decide to give a relationship a try.

To be honest at the beginning I wasn’t sure I was going to like the story but I’m glad I gave it chance and kept reading. I did not enjoy Lizzy working as a lawyer but once I got past it I realized that the was the point. Once Lizzy decided to take time off is where the book really begins. I’m not sure I’m completely sold that Jack and Lizzy have been friends for THAT long but that’s being nit picky. I like them together as friends and even more as a couple- especially their banter.
