LIzzy is suffering from a burnout so she goes back to her hometown. She reunites with her best friend Jack who secretly has a crush on her..... It's a very charming, light-hearted romance. I love how sweet Jack is. There is a lot of sparks between them... and the books moves along at a very nice pace. It's so nice to read a friends to lovers book done perfectly.

A sweet, romantic read about two lifelong best friends who fall in love and spend time in a bookstore. Nothing too complex and yet a nice, light read.

Jack is everything you could ever want in a cute guy who loves and adores you—he’s thoughtful and kind and SO hot when he wants to be. And Lizzy is so hardworking and a badass and I loved the way she fell in love with her best friend. This book is like drinking a sweet frothy milkshake at the bookstore with your best friend.

I would totally recommend this for those adore the friends to lovers trope!

Booked on a Feeling by Jayci Lee is such a charming and adorable read I enjoyed so much. The story is totally romantic, lighthearted with two amazing characters. I didn't realize this was part of a series but I had no problem reading it as a stand-alone.

The main romance trope in Booked on a Feeling was not my favorite (miscommunication-friends to lovers), but I still enjoyed it.
Overall, this a quick read romance you'll enjoy!

This book had some tropes I did not like. I’m just not a friends to lovers person, I read way more enemies to lovers. Honestly I prefer friends to stay friends in this case. Which brings me to the second thing I disliked: miscommunication trope. I liked that this book had Korean rep, that it showed it’s okay to take breaks from life, it also represented anxiety, and the plot followed around keeping a bookstore around! If you like friends to lovers and can deal with miscommunication, I’d recommend.

Firstly, that cover is gorgeous! I absolutely adore it and cannot wait to have that lovely pink spine on my shelf.

This book ks every bookworm’s dream - fall in love with your best friend while in a bookstore. Lizzy needs a break from her law career so she takes refuge in her best friend’s hometown and decides to help out at the local bookstore too. She learns about herself and her feelings for her best friend, Jack, along the way.

What I liked: Obviously the book connection was my favourite part. I also dream about running away to a bookstore so Lizzy was relatable in this regard. As well, I am a sucker for, ‘he has secretly been in love with his best friend since they were kids,’ trope.

What could be better: I felt the sparks in this book but it just never really caught fire for me. That is to say, it was fine. I never felt fully connected to the characters or their relationship. It wasn’t slow burn or had the yearning I wanted. It was extremely insta-lovey on Jack’s part.

Nonetheless, I still adored this and cannot wait to hype this one up to all my friends. Will definitely be buying a physical copy!

Whenever in doubt, just pick Ms. Lee’s books but honestly they would never ever disappoint anybody. I have waited so long for this book and the wait was worth it. It was such a cute, quick and an enjoyable read for me, honestly made my entire day. The beginning might be a little slow in the beginning but the ending quite made up for it. So, it was a 4.5 stars read for me

a slow start, but things really picked up once lizzie made her way to weldon. we love friends-to-lovers with some STRONG pining!

Friends to lovers. Adorable. What reader could resist something set in a bookstore! It dragged at some points for *tension* but it was a cute PG love story.

Such a delightful story, great description. Character development was strong, loved following the plot line, characters you were rooting for!

Jayci Lee’s Booked on a Feeling was a lovely book!

Lizzie is your classic overachiever trying to please her parents by becoming a lawyer. While working hard to make partner, she struggles with panic attacks which prompts her to leave LA and spend 3 weeks in Weldon where her bestie, Jack Park lives.

Jack is thrilled to have Lizzie in town for a few weeks since he’s had a huge crush on her since he was 10. Jack helps Lizzie realize her passion for books and privately owned bookstores while spending her vacation together.

Jack and Lizzie’s relationship is so sweet and a tad spicy as each character works to follow their dreams in their careers and their relationship.

It took a bit to get into, but I found myself rooting for Lizzy and Jack. I really liked their friendship dynamic as well as their relationship dynamic. They were funny. I also loved the way food was described too.

i had a hard time getting into this one. i just don't think this authors writing style is for me. i think it has a great concept and others might still like though

while this was quick and fun, it was ultimately pretty forgettable. i really liked Lizzy- she was smart, successful, and funny, but she did have some questionable tastes (watching to all the boys i've loved before 6 times??) i also really liked the diversity and cultural aspects of this book. the hero, jack, was pretty plain and didn't have many defining personality traits, but was overall nice. that said, there was SO much miscommunication and just a lack of communication overall that really got on my nerves. the 80% breakup seemed so unnecessary and out of character for them, and then one of them moved across the country for a bit before they even talked it out. it was so easily avoidable and didn't seem very believable. definitely a great fast read for passing time, but it wasn't anything special.

This was another ARC that caught my attention while browsing on NetGalley, mainly for the title and the cover so I had very few expectations going into it. It was such a lovely surprise! It revolves around 30 year old Lizzy, an LA lawyer who just won her first solo case but also experienced her first panic attack during her opening statement and knows she needs a break. She goes to her best friend's town four hours out of the city for three weeks to stay in an apartment over the town's bookstore. She ends up volunteering herself to help spruce up the shop to bring more customers in because she loves bookstores and also loves a to do list. She of course enlists the help of her bestie Jack, who helps run his family's brewery and restaurant in town. As they spend time together she starts to feel attracted to Jack and is worried it might mess with their friendship. What she doesn't know is, Jack has been pining for her and stuffing his emotions away basically since the moment they became friends as kids. He also understands feeling like your career maybe isn't what you want. The chemistry between these two was HOT and I got so drawn into both of their POVs that I felt myself welling up when I got to the inevitable misunderstanding and seperation part of the story. I quickly grew to love these characters and I think you will too! This book releases July 26/22, so thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for my advanced copy!

Booked on a Feeling is a sweet and funny contemporary romance that gives readers a great look into what life can be like when you start chasing your own dreams, instead of the ones laid out for you.

This contemporary romance checked so many boxes for stories I love, but it just didn’t get all the way there for me.

I loved:
A book about books and book lovers
Overachievers chilling out
Telling toxic family to take a hike
Friends to lovers and so much pining
Food! So much food talk!
On those fronts, this book was a delightful read. All the fun tropes, very sexy slow-burn and characters that are genuinely interesting (not manic-pixie-dream-quirky).

But…after all that great character development and making the reader truly fall in love with this couple, its conflict, crash and burn, magic turnaround that works out perfectly, and DONE! For such a beautifully developed love story, the ending was just “and then HEA with perfect lives.” However, I am interested in reading Jayci Lee’s other books, so I would still place this one on my “Recommend List.”

Love books about books, love romances, love the references to Korean food. I was really excited about this one but it just fell a little flat.

I didn't realize this was part of a series, I'm definitely going to go back and read the other books. I get the feeling this just wasn't the couple for me.

The miscommunication was frustrating, there just wasn't a good enough reason for them not to be together. The whole time I was reading I was internally screaming 'you both love each other! it's going to be fine! just be together!'

The spice is also fade to black so if you're looking for that sort of thing this is the book for you.

That being said I actually really enjoyed the ending, the middle dragged a little. But I loved the way she wrapped it all up. And I enjoyed the personal growth of both characters. I think most people will enjoy this book.
