Thank you Netgalley and Sterling & Stone for the copy of Miserable Lies. The writing was great, so great that I bought other books by this author as soon as I finished the book. The story was intriguing and really made me want to discover the truth. I did find the characters difficult to relate to or like, even Danica. I also didn’t find Cole believable. But, this was still a good read and I recommend it to anyone that wants a well-written story.

I gave this one 4 stars because it kept me engaged and wanting to keep reading. BUT that was only because the protagonist in the story was really made out to be the antagonist.

I thought from the very beginning that Porter was covering his own tracks—that he was the murderer. And I was intrigued enough to keep reading because I wanted to see how he was going to keep the investigation going in his favor.

I was very wrong, though the ending was still very entertaining and not one that I had seen coming from the start.

It wasn’t bad. It wasn’t my favorite. But it is definitely a contender for most suspenseful.

This was a good read. The mystery and overall theme kept me entertained and encouraged me to continue reading. The author took the time to develop good characters with real emotional problems and conflict. The chapters did not seem rushed and the ending was left open enough that a sequel could be written at a later date. I would recommend.

This book is what I wish all suspense mysteries could be. I’ve read a good amount of them since I started doing reviews on a full-time basis, and I keep getting disappointed by matters such as pacing, characterization, too many characters, and/or too predictable of a turn. This book, however, had no such problems. This book? This book checked all the boxes I feel necessary to make for a perfect, closed-loop, suspense mystery.

I’m not going to rehash the plot for you. If you want that, read the blurb. Or look at other reviews that will give you that. Many other reviewers do that. I’m not one of them.

Great book!! It seemed a little short but what a story! This book had me on the edge of my seat! Thus book had suspense, intrigue, action and a great great who done it!! The storyline kept you intrigued and flowed nicely! I highly recommend reading this book! Its well worth reading! Thank you Netgalley and the publisher for sharing this book with me!
