I couldn’t get into it and hate to admit it was a do not finish for me. Waiting was slow and I couldn’t get into the story. I will get it another try soon

An intricate web of lies that explodes.

“The Blame Game” is Naomi’s first-person narrative. She talks directly to readers, sharing many things, but not everything. She is a therapist specializing in domestic abuse; she wants to help her clients, to change them, and to give them a chance for a better future. Her clients share their troubles and their secrets with her. They may think that she will never truly understand how they feel because she has not experienced what they have, but little do they know that she, indeed, has. She has troubles and secrets that she does not want to share with anyone.

One client has a story different from that of most of her clients. Jacob Mackenzie reports that he has been abused by a woman for ten years. He wants to kill he, so he wants to leave, to “save her” from what he might do. Jacob does “escape,” but that is not the sought-for solution. Jacob is not telling everything, and his relationship with Naomi is perhaps becoming more than it should be. Lies are numerous and nasty.

I received a review copy of “The Blame Game” from Sandie Jones, St. Martin's Press, and Minotaur Books. It is an intricate web of lies that explodes, starting an unexpected a chain of events. Naomi’s clients are not the only ones in danger, she is as well. “The Blame Game” is now available in print, as an e-book, and on audio from independent bookstores, online booksellers, retail stores, public libraries and anywhere you get your books.

I had a hard time relating to Naomi. She is an extremely unethical psychologist. She blurs the line between a professional and a friend. The best thing about the story was the epilogue because it tied everything together.

I enjoyed this book although I feel like that as a psychiatrist, the main character crossed multiple lines. I did enjoy the multiple characters and not knowing exactly who I could trust and who I couldn’t. This book just proves that boundaries are good and necessary!

Sometimes life isn’t what it seems on the outside. People can be quite effective at portraying themselves in a positive light to others; meanwhile, their lives are falling apart. Naomi, as a psychologist, often has to look past the masks people use to find a person’s true self so she can help to the best of her abilities. When Jacob, one of her clients, goes missing, suspicion begins to fall on Naomi, especially when evidence pointing directly at her comes to light. Naomi swears she is innocent, but no one will believe her, and it doesn’t help that her past is determined to find its way into her present.

This one was ok. There wasn’t a lot of backstory to the characters–the story just jumped right in–so I didn’t always understand the decisions and motivations of some of the characters. I also saw much of the ending from a mile away, although I did enjoy the epilogue and what it brought to the story, especially after the ending of the main narrative. It’s a fast-paced novel, but it left me wanting more.

The Blame Game is the newest psychological thriller by Sandie Jones. Naomi is a psychologist who struggles to maintain boundaries with her clients. Suddenly, one of her clients disappears and Naomi is left wondering if she's partly to blame. As the disappearance is investigated secrets become revealed that lead the reader to hurriedly read along to see what the finale will be. Read and enjoy!

Naomi, a psychologist, runs her practice from her home. We are quickly introduced to 2 of her clients, Anna & Jacob. In attempts to flee their current relationships and start anew, Naomi offers them a place to stay. Immediately this felt weird to me because this is not only unethical but not commonplace for a therapist to do. I just didnt believe that she was an actual therapist with how intertwined she was in their lives? Naomi also has a past that catches up with her. This was a quick read with some twists but overall wasnt my favorite. 3/5

Unfortunately, I’ve not been able to access my account and forget many titles and didn’t know if they even downloaded correctly, but this one I was happy to know I had, and even happier to read! Another twisty, thrilling ride from Sandie Jones that’ll have readers flipping pages like crazy to get to that final page and see what twisty turns and holy cows they’ll have! Tense, well written, and just plain fantastic! I can’t recommend Ms. Jones enough, but I will be recommending this one as much as I do her others! A must for thrill lovers like me!

Will be using my Amazon Vine Top Reviewer and loud mouth to ensure I buzz this one around!

I really wanted to love this one, but it fell short for me. I found the storyline very implausible and I didn’t connect with any of the characters. There is no way a therapist would do the things Naomi did. There were some parts that kept my interest and I enjoyed the ending. I do love this author’s books so I will be looking forward to what she comes out with next!

Thank you NetGalley and the publisher for my e-ARC.

I've read several of Sandie Jones' books and the last couple have not been bit hits for me. This book was a domestic thriller. It was definitely a page turner but not super memorable. While I enjoyed it overall, I felt like some of the twists were improbable. Overall a book enjoyed for a bit but wouldn't necessarily recommend.

I have enjoyed a couple of books by Sandie Jones. However, I think I’m done. I was appalled at the psychiatrist’s conduct. And as for the primary character, Naomi, I just did not connect with her. I think there were too many aspects of the book that were unbelievable. The positive side is that it was fast paced so it was a quick read.

Thank you to NetGalley and Minotaur Books for my advanced review copy. All opinions and thoughts are my own.

I am a huge fan of Sandie Jones’ books and I was very excited to read “The Blame Game.” It took me awhile to get into the story and to be honest it was not one of my favorites. My opinion is completely personal and not a reflection of the writing as the story did not appeal to me. I will continue to read Sandie Jones books and look forward to the next one

Thank you NetGalley and St. Martin’s Press for my digital arc in exchange for my honest review.

I found this to be a very twisty story, to the point that at times I got very confused as to what was actually going on. That is to say, it was a very good and I enjoyed it. I received a complimentary copy from NetGalley and this is my honest opinion.

Filled with twists and turns, I had a hard time putting this book down once I started reading. I got lucky with a couple of my guesses, but still really enjoyed this story. It was a gripping read that held my interest from start to finish.

Sandie Jones can do no wrong in my book! This story was no exception. LOVED it! Naomi specializes in abuse victims as a psychologist. Naomi also has a dark past of her own. She begins getting too personally involved with a few and mayhem ensues. I highly recommend this book and the author! She hasn't let me down yet. Eager for the next one!

Thank you to #NetGalley, Sandie Jones and St. Martin's Press/Minotaur Books for this ARC.

I found the Blame Game very disappointing. It was hard to follow and the characters were hard to like.
