Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for an early copy of this book in return for an honest review.

Rating: 3.5⭐
The world building in this book was great, I really enjoyed the atmosphere and the descriptions of the environments.

I like Ember as the main character and how she trusts her instincts when in Frost.

This book is quick, fast paced and action packed. On the whole I enjoyed it, but feel that at times it was a bit too fast and skipped over some things. Ember also never really questions how anybody knows her name without her telling them, and that bothered me.

It leaves a lot of questions that need answering in the subsequent books, I would be interested in continuing to see the root that this series takes.

Thank you NetGalley and Aria Noble for the book to review!

WHAT I LIKED:
This book was an odd read. It was the good kind of odd, where you are in a different dystopian world unsure of how things are now. Having to trudge through a continuous snow storm to try and find the City of Frost just for survival is an intense start to the story. But things only get weirder from there. It is definitely hard to determine who to actually trust in this book, but that made it so perfect! The end of this book sets you up perfectly for the next book in the series (Which I have already started LOL)..

WHAT I DIDN'T LIKE:
I do think that this book could have had more detail added to it. Have the City of Frost explained a little bit more in a way that is almost believable. The way some of the characters act when around certain people or in certain places do make you aware that you can't fully trust anyone in this, but it made it seem like the whole place was a fraud (I'm not entirely sure it isn't)..

OVERALL / RECOMMENDATION:
This was a good dystopian read with little hooks in it that keep you reading. I do recommend this to younger readers that are fans of dystopian worlds.

An enjoyable read set in the dying location of Dusk. Ember and her best friend Eli leave all they know behind in search of the whispered city of Frost. where a better life is rumored.

Upon finding Frost, a better life can be seen, however it is only a surface life with many secrets being held by the Queen of Frost -- and Ember knows there's more to be learned.

Desperate to understand the knowledge behind these secrets, Ember, along with a new friend from Frost begin their journey to explore the world unknown and continue the search for a better life.

I'm eager to find out what happens to Ember and what truth she uncovers.

Cover caught my eye. Was a quick read which was something I was in search for. For me this was an ok book, I wasn’t hooked into it as some of the other books I’ve read. The book did have nice and descriptive world building which did make things interesting but this book was just ok for me.

I found this book disjointed and it did not grab me. I did finish the entire book and thankfully it was a quick read. I was most bothered by weird foreshadowing without any resolution and felt there was very little character development. I didn’t feel attached to any character’s story and each of the characters did not really have a good connection. It is extremely odd for me to not want to read another book in a series because I am usually invested in the characters and storyline by the end of the first book. This just didn’t happen with this one.

My thanks to Net Galley, the author and the publisher for granting me a ARC of “ “Queen of Frost.”
To begin with let me state that I had no idea that QoF was the first book in a trilogy. I found that writing was good , the story captivating, the concept intriguing. And the primary character, Ember, a good one.. The book begins with Ember and Eli trudging through an Arctic or maybe more exactly, a Siberian landscape. ( The characters have Russian- type patronymics ) . Th3 world here is frigid, the ground deeply drifted and the air opaque with blowing snow. They have left their home , a desolate, dying village named Dust, where everyone lives at a bare subsistence level, to seek a fabled city, Frost , where life is better. Nearly at the end of their strength, they find it.
Frost is behind a towering wall of ice, yet the air is warm; the inhabitants wear only light clothing, not layers of wool and fur. Food is plentiful and the people. smile happily. Ember and Eli are welcomed by the Queen to this comparative paradise, only to learn ( of course) that things. are not as they seem. There is electric lighting, something Ember and Eli have heard of only as mythic, and other wonders, all covered by a sort of force field that protects the city.
Okay no further details for fear of spoiling reader’s delight at find this gem of a sci - fi fantasy novel. Ember is , I hate to use this over used word. Feisty. Intelligent and curious , she is the moving force to the book. Events happen because of her, and not to her. Those the events bring danger to the outworlders from Dust . This is feisty heroine is one to reckon with.
The only thing I had trouble with was at the climax- how did Ember do what she did with the limited knowledge she had? But things were moving right along to a thrilling finish that set Ember and Eli up on another adventure.I look forward to read the rest of the series.
Cautions: none. No vulgar language, sexual license or gratuitous violence. Reading for everyone.
Summing: Get a copy Of “ Queen of Frost” , read and enjoy.

Great world building. I was picturing the icy cold frozen tundra and then the warm air of Frost. I could picture the beautiful glass and the creepy smiles of the characters in Frost. I think the story could have used more of a wrap up. Not many questions were answered. You definitely have to continue reading the series to find out where it will go

Absolutely stunning fantasy book that left me wanting so much more.

The writing is on point with top fantasy authors like SJM and LB. Favorites of not only mine but many.

Dare I say it may even be better? Yes I do dare. Because the writing itself truly was better in contrast.

The world and storyline are perfect for the genre!

Queen of Frost is about Ember and Eli leave their home in Dusk to search for the lost city of Frost, and what happens when they find it. The telling of their adventure really brings you into the book. Especially when Ember is asked by the queen to fix her dolls. This book was a quick read, but interesting the whole way through. Queen of Frost left me wanting to read the next in the series.

Thank you NetGally and publisher for letting me review Queen Frost.

The cover of this book is what really caught my attention, as most books usually do. This book was the perfect length for me. I found myself in a fantasy reading slump, and this book has gotten me out of it!

An intense, wildly imaginative, and adventurous tale. I loved this story of Ember and Eli. The world-building is unlike anything I've seen before. I loved how the world seemed at an end. The post-apocalyptic vibe gave me chills and made me want to know about the story on each turn. Ember's attitude and suspicion made me like her that much more, and her reactions to Frost brought significant tension to the story. Written from Ember's point of view, I did sometimes wonder about Eli's thoughts and feelings, but not enough to want to lose out on any moment from Ember. The setting immersed me in the tale, and I swear I could feel the cold of Frost as I devoured each page. As the first book in the series, Queen of Frost certainly hooked me and made me want the rest of the series. I have so many questions that I need answered. Ember is the kind of character that you'll remember long after you read the last page. I received a copy of this book from NetGalley. I was not required to leave a positive review. All thoughts and opinions expressed are my own.

I know one shouldn't judge a book by its cover but I am a sucker for a cover with a crown on it.
Also love me some fantasies with palaces and intrigue and this one starts off feeling mildly dystopian.
This was an interesting rea, it actually reminded me a bit of Divergent but then and things took a turn.
I liked the world but I felt we needed a bit more, like more about the Old City and the copters that were in the cathedral.
It started a bit slow, nothing really happens until the last chapters, and although the book is short, it took me a lot to finish because I wasn't motivated. I found the characters to be a bit flat, without strong motives, especially Eli, they even disappeared towards the center of the story.

Queen of Frost is about Ember and Eli’s search for the lost city of Frost and what happens when they find it. I thought this book was a quick and easy read that started a little slow but had a good ending that made me want to continue with the series.

This is an interesting surmise, but nothing that hasn’t been done before. This book is rather short, but I did find that nothing really happened for 75% of the book, and that just made it a painfully slow read. I like when a book ease us into the lore, but I felt it focused so much on their day to day life and not the actual overal plot. However, the ending was worth it and makes for a fascinating sequel, it’s just a shame it took so long for the plot to move along.

This was a nice intro into a new fantasy world. Aria managed to bring alive a vivid world and relatable characters. I can't wait to see what happens in this universe next. Hopefully there are more stories in this series!

Wonderful quick read. It had me hooked from the start. I’m already excited to read the rest of the series.

Interesting world, though a bit more background would be good, Hoping there is more in the rest of the books. It could have had a bit more details in some areas and there were a few inconsistency. Still well worth the read though.

I like the MC. She was strong without being over powered. Possible love triangle the works? Unrequited on one side?

It did leave more questions then answers, but that just hooked me more.

This is Book 1 from the series. This is an easy and quick read. The dystopian world and unique setting were beautifully written and described. I’m eager to read the next one. There’s a lot more that I want to know about this characters. Also, this cover is sooooo beautiful.

2.50⭐️
I found this book to be a bit boring. Nothing really happens until the last chapters, and although the book is quite short, it took me a lot to finish because I was not motivated to pick it up, and when I did I fell asleep after a few pages. I found the characters to be a bit flat, without strong motives, especially Eli, who kind of disappeared towards the centre of the story. Some “mysteries” are a bit too “mysterious” and some aspects of the book don’t actually make any sense, while the historical aspect of the worldbuilding would have benefited from further study. I did finish the book because I’m too curious for my own good, and the writing style was good enough for me to not DNF, but I’m now debating if I should pick up the next book in the series to satisfy my unhealthy curiosity.

Queen of Frost is a nice quick read. Ember and Eli trek across a frozen tundra to find Frost- a place that has been argued to not even exist. They find Frost and Ember keeps getting an odd message from its residents: the wall is cracking. Frost suddenly seems to have its own secrets. This does end on a huge cliff hanger and I definitely want to know how the story continues.

This book follows Ember who is traveling to the city of Frost from the city of Dusk with her best friend Eli. They must survive the frozen, desolate plains following a mostly broken compass. This world is a few generations in after the death of what the outsiders call "the great machine" and the world that they know is covered in snow and ice. Only a few remaining elders remember their world from Before, and control the quickly dwindling food they have left. This is the first young-adult fantasy/dystopian book in a trilogy, all of which are out.
