For The Bright Ones by Sarah Ann Negus is a fantastic book of poetry. The author writes beautifully as she invokes the imagery of mythology, goddesses, and nature to express her emotions and thoughts. I found the poems bittersweet yet hopeful and all together magical. The pictures painted with Sarah's words are ethereal and I found myself devouring this book. A five star read for me and I will be getting a physical copy!

I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

Thank you, NetGalley for the chance to read and review this!

I really wish I could love this collection, but it wasn’t for me. I didn’t care for any of the poems. They just aren’t my style or taste.

I love experiencing new poetry and finding new authors. I'm glad I found Sarah Ann Negus on Netgalley and had the opportunity to read her work, For the Bright Ones.

With this work, you don't have to overthink what you are reading, you can just feel the emotions as you read the words. You feel what she might have felt as she flowed through a relationship - the ups and downs, the doubt, the passion. I think it's something we all experience and can relate to at some point.

Whether you're a long time fan of poetry, or searching for your first poetry book to read, this would be a great choice to pick up!

I received an ARC of For the Bright Ones from BookBuzz and NetGalley. I'm not usually one to read poetry. It feels wrong to critique it, in a way. It feels written from the heart, and I related to several of the individual poems in the collection. However, many other verses were very conceptual and I had a hard time connecting to the work. Because I bookmarked several poems, I gave the collection four stars.
