When Charlotte sees a distressed woman standing on a bridge, wearing a wedding dress, she listens to her tale of woe and takes her into her home and heart. Charlotte is also going through a distressing time, with her colleague trying to take over her family business due to discrepancies in the books and blaming Charlotte. The two women try to help each other, which ends in disaster, both with a secret that could destroy them, meaning they are now bound together but need to keep apart.
This is a brilliant book. Just when I thought I knew where it was going I was proved wrong. One section I had to reread several times as I just couldn’t get my head around it. I wasn’t happy with the ending, or I should say it was an excellent ending, just not what I wanted! Can’t say another word without spoilers, other than buy this book!

Thanks to NetGalley and Orion for the arc.
I had to DNF this about a third of the way through, it was so unbelievable. (I had to choose a star rating for NetGalley even though it's DNF.) I'm a fan of this author's other books but I just couldn't get into this. I didn't like any of the characters, and the way the main character, Charlotte, let Maggie, a complete stranger, into her life so easily made me want to yell at her. Like when you yell at the screen during a horror movie - don't open the door! Don't go outside by yourself! Charlotte, don't pick up a complete stranger then leave her alone in your home! It frustrated me to the point that I couldn't continue reading. It won't put me off reading future books by this author but it just wasn't for me this time.

I liked the idea behind this book, and the story was good .The story did have me scratching my head at times ,but I didn't mind that. Pace was good, and I enjoyed reading it.

I've read a few of Ms. Seddon's books and have enjoyed them all. Although you might have to suspend belief a bit, her stories are a delightful free fall. Often I am reminded of how Stephen King puts ordinary people in extraordinary circumstances, and given what you might be going through on any given day, you could see yourself in those circumstances and making the (bad/unreasonable/crazy) decisions that Charlotte makes in The Woman on the Bridge. Regardless, it's easy to figure out that something's not quite right with Maggie ("You'll never find all of the evidence so there's no point looking."), but how we get to the end is pretty cool, and packs a great surprise or two. Well done, highly recommend, total escapism and I enjoyed every word.

P.S. Thanks to #Netgalley for the ARC.

Suspenseful story full of characters who are just trying to hang on. They meet at just the right time.

A twisty story about two women with two different situations. They became best friends after a rescue from almost jumping the bridge. It is a page turner and full of twists, definitely enjoyed it.

In the past I have read a few of Hollys other books I really enjoyed Try not to breathe, don’t close your eyes and the hit list which I gave 3.5 stars for. After finishing this book I think this may be close to my top favorite it is definitely in my top two. I truly loved this book all of her books have a heart at the center core of her stories and with that come a lot of emotions and I enjoyed that made the book mean so much more. I love how she started the book and how it took off and the puzzle pieces just came right together but that ending! WHOA that twist was incredibly so shocking! I would have to say this is a wonderful book about friendship, trust and control, it is about all it’s secrets and lord that truly shatter lives. I highly recommend this book if your looking for a good thriller!

Thank you NetGalley for an early copy of The Woman on the Bridge. This is my honest review.

I’ve been a fan of Holly Seddon since I read Try Not to Breathe. While this one was a little more twisty and required suspension of disbelief, it’s definitely going to keep you turning the pages!

An outstanding psychological thriller, Holly Seddon at her best. It begins with very intense dramatic scenes which continue throughout, making compulsive reading. I was completely hooked. Its one rollercoaster of a read as most chapters end on a cliffhanger. I gasped at the unforeseen conclusion. Highly recommended.

This was dramatic, secretive, confusing, full of twists and turns and overall just brilliant. You could feel the emotion in this book.

Thanks to NetGalley and the publishers for the ARC in return for an honest and unbiased opinion.

Maggie is trapped. Dumped on her wedding day, rejected by her family and hounded by a man determined to make her suffer. Charlotte is desperate. Double-crossed by her only friend and facing total ruin, she will go to any lengths to save what matters. Two women, one night. A decision that will change everything.

I was intrigued by this plot description and interested to see how events were going to pan out. For the most part, Seddon has written an intense thriller that is full of twists. However, I did think it was a bit too long and some of the twists, particularly at the beginning were obvious and meant the book lost pace. Some of the events did begin to border on the ridiculous as well.

Back to the positives and I do think that as well as being a thriller, Seddon poses a question about how far you would go for a stranger. It certainly got me thinking!

Seddon says at the end of the book that this features around friendship and it really does. It was fascinating to see the relationship between Charlotte and Maggie play out; they have a unique, intense connection and it made for good reading. I also enjoyed learning about the different relationships between all of the characters and how they differ in their behaviour.

Overall, I did really enjoy 'The Woman on the Bridge'. I did think there were a few negatives but I enjoyed it enough to rate this 4 stars.

Thank you to NetGalley and Orion for an advance copy.

This is a great psychological thriller.
Charlotte approaches the bridge and sees a woman standing on the railings about to jump.
She goes over and persuades her not to do it and to come into the warmth of her car.
Maggie tells Charlotte that she has run away from a stalker who has just ruined her wedding and now has nowhere to go.
Charlotte takes her home and tells her of her own problems with her friend Anne and the family business.
The next part happens quickly and has ramifications for both women.
I won’t say what happens as this will be a major spoiler but it will definitely have you racing through the pages to see what happens next.
A great read that well and truly had me hooked.
Thanks to Orion Publishing Group and NetGalley for the opportunity to read this book.

‘𝙎𝙝𝙚 𝙩𝙝𝙞𝙣𝙠𝙨 𝙗𝙖𝙘𝙠 𝙩𝙤 𝙩𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙛𝙞𝙧𝙨𝙩 𝙣𝙞𝙜𝙝𝙩 𝙤𝙣 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙗𝙧𝙞𝙙𝙜𝙚. 𝙃𝙤𝙬 𝘾𝙝𝙖𝙧𝙡𝙤𝙩𝙩𝙚 𝙝𝙖𝙙 𝙘𝙡𝙞𝙢𝙗𝙚𝙙 𝙪𝙥 𝙩𝙤 𝙟𝙤𝙞𝙣 𝙝𝙚𝙧, 𝙩𝙤 𝙩𝙖𝙡𝙠 𝙝𝙚𝙧 𝙙𝙤𝙬𝙣. 𝙃𝙤𝙬 𝙨𝙝𝙚 𝙧𝙞𝙨𝙠𝙚𝙙 𝙚𝙫𝙚𝙧𝙮𝙩𝙝𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙛𝙤𝙧 𝙖 𝙨𝙩𝙧𝙖𝙣𝙜𝙚𝙧.’

I was looking forward to starting this one, sounded just like my type of story and it didn’t disappoint.

Whilst I have to admit it was a slow start for me, not the story or the plot as such, just for me getting into it. But once I did, I was hooked and devoured it!

The writing is gritty and exciting, constantly leaving you wondering what is going on and who these people really are! I said from the get go that I was trusting no one and I’m glad I didn’t 🤣

The story being told through multiple narratives definitely adds to the mystery and intrigue of the story. The characters were all well developed and had a lot of depth to them - some a lot darker than the others.

Some parts I did find myself thinking, why on earth would you do that?! And finding it did have a little bit of an unrealistic feel, I was too engrossed in the plot for it to effect my enjoyment.

Although I did question certain parts, overall I found it a thrilling and suspenseful read. This story definitely left you with one bit of valuable information - ‘𝙉𝙚𝙫𝙚𝙧 𝙩𝙧𝙪𝙨𝙩 𝙨𝙩𝙧𝙖𝙣𝙜𝙚𝙧𝙨.’

I love Holly Seddon so really hoped i would enjoy The Woman on the Bridge.
Yes another cracker of a read!
From the start Charlotte (the main character) makes some very iffy decisions and when you begin to think you understand what's going on the twists and turns of the story take you in another direction.
Without giving anything away the ending was nothing like i expected.
A brilliantly written book.

Sincere thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for allowing me to read and give an honest opinion.

Absolutely loved this book! There was an underlying air of tension between new friends Maggie and Charlotte - a friendship born out of a near-tragedy between two women with little in common - from the start that I kept trying to unpick, knowing something wasn't right but unable to guess what it was. Both characters were brilliantly and believably drawn, and in different ways I was rooting for them both. Some shocking twists and turns kept me turning the pages - and changing my mind about who was doing what, and who the real victim was - and the ending was a genuine and satisfying twist, if a little sad for me.

A woman on a bridge in a wedding dress....a stranger who tries to help.....this is how this complex, twisty thriller begins. Would you let a stranger into your home?
Maggie is the stranger and Charlotte the woman who feels bound to help, as she grieves for her parents.

This is a difficult book to review without spoilers, so, I'll just say; It’s a compelling, gripping start that becomes a tale about relationships and all their complexity, friendship, murder and suspense.
Plus, as an aside, I loved the descriptions, my favourite being that of the cream coloured Aga “all the little doors, like an advent calendar “. The dream cottage sounded bliss, but, with consistent sinister undertones.

A great holiday read and I'm grateful to NetGalley and the publishers for the opportunity to preview.

I think this book came at a time where some of the early character emotions were a big triggering for me and some personal demons I was struggling with. As such, I couldn't read on. That said, it does prove how realistically the author captured such emotion. I've put to the side for now, but I do think when I'm in a better place I'd give it another go, so I;ve scored in the middle.

The Women on the Bridge is an exhilarating, fast paced thriller that completely gripped me. The premise was fantastic and the execution was just superb. I love all of Holly's books, but this one is now my favourite. The ending completely floored me. Highly recommend to all domestic thriller fans that love a tightly plotted storyline and an ending that makes you gasp. Five stars!

I thoroughly enjoyed this one. I was drawn in from the beginning and found Maggie and Charlotte believable and interesting characters. I relied on the brilliant writing to be pulled even deeper into a really twisting plot. At times I wondered how much credibility there was but this certainly did not deter me from sheer enjoyment. I always know when a book has got me by the speed I find I am reading. Loved the weird friendship created and the ending was just sublime. Not sure I was ready for it but, nevertheless, a great ending
