The concept of this book is a sweet, heart warming idea. Debbie Macomber books are like a warm hug - cozy books about family, friendship, and relationships.

Due to time I will not be giving a thorough review of this book, but I’m sure it will be a fit for many people out there.

Thank you to NetGalley, the author, and the publisher for an ARC in exchange for my honest opinion.

Outstanding. Don’t usually think I’d Debbie Macomber as a heavy story teller. This is a great story. Conflicts in their own lives start an unlikely friendship. Definitely pick up this book.

Loss and grief. Two things Cade and Hope know very well.

Hope appears to be just doing fine. But internally she is a mess. Cade shows his grief and suffers the consequences for his actions.

They met because they both volunteered at a dog shelter. This brings them healing.

Hope was a teacher. She was compassionate and wanting to help. Many times her hands were tied but she did what she could. I could relate as I worked with teenagers before I retired.

An enjoyable book.

I just love all of Debbie Macomber's books! They are so light and simple to read and they tell an entire story in just a few pages. I always feel like I just watched a hallmark movie when I have finished once of her books.

the main character in this story, Hope, lost her twin brother in Afghanistan and is still working through her grief. She’s moved to Oceanside for a fresh start, taking a job as a high school teacher. She gets an invitation to help out at the animal shelter, which is where she meets Cade.

Cade is working at the shelter as a part of his community service duties. Like Shadow, one of the most challenging dogs at the shelter, Cade is a bit gruff and unfriendly, sending off definite vibes that he does not want to be social.

But before long, Shadow and Hope develop a tentative friendship that eventually leads to deeper feelings- but Cade is still a work in progress…

This is a lovely story, with a sweet love story, but also has a little bit of a mystery and some suspense, as well. I was immediately invested in the characters, and had a hard time putting the book aside, reading it all in one sitting! While there is a lot of drama in the story, the pacing is brisk, but still manages to give each thread, and each character, the time and depth needed to develop.

Overall Rating 4.0

What a great story!!! It is about Cade, a returning vet who is injured both physically and mentally. It is also about Hope is also struggling with the loss of her only family member. Her twin was recently killed while serving his country. You get to watch their relationship grow and heal each of them. This story was very well written! If you get the chance, please thank a veteran !! Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for the chance to read this wonderful ARC!

I was so happy to be back in Oceanside! This story has characters you can root for and it's a great continuation for Cottage By the Sea.

✨ 3.5 stars ✨ ⁣

My 3 star ratings go as follows: 3.5 stars is for books that were middle of the road but I enjoyed fine enough, 3 stars is for a book that was middle of the road and I didn’t enjoy my time with. ⁣

TBIYTC was 3.5 stars was just fine, nothing special, but enjoyable enough. It was an incredibly fast read (listen in my case). I appreciated that the main character told people when things were sketchy or happening. You know how in some books, something terrible happens but the MC is like, “But I won’t tell anyone, I’ll figure this out myself.” and then things get worse as a result. I appreciated that Hope didn’t do that!⁣

I read a review that said that the absolutely all the characters are unbelievably good, except the villains who are unbelievably bad, and that felt accurate.

There's nothing quite like a good ole, happily ever after, type of romance. I enjoyed this book! I loved the slow burn between Hope and Cade-❤️🔥😍.

Hope Godwin moves to the small town of Oceanside, Washington after the tragic death of her twin brother. He passed away while serving his country. Enter Cade, ex-marine, who also experienced his own loss during his time serving. Cade is completely closed off after a recent run-in with law. As part of his sentencing, he must complete community service hours at the local animal shelter. Here he meets Hope (literally 😉).

Hope is working with a dog named, Shadow. Only she has earned the trust of this poor soul. Cade is drawn to her empathy and compassion. Together they learn to open up and tear their walls down for love. ❤️❤️❤️
Great romance read!!

Thank you @netgalley and Ballantinebooks @penguinrandomhouse for this ARC for my honest review 🙂

The Best Is Yet to Come by Debbie Macomber is a beautiful story of loss, love, friendship and the journey of believing in oneself and in others again.

Add in a lovable but misunderstood dog, a friendly small hometown setting where everyone knows each other (and each other's business). Top it off with Mrs. Macomber's delightful writing and sense of humor, an engaging plot, relatable characters and I found I was not able to put this book down until I had read the very. last. sentence!

I loved reading The Best Is Yet to Come and I highly recommend this wonderful book!

5 STARS!

I received this book for free. A favorable review was not required. All views expressed are my own. Thank you to Debbie Macomber and Net Galley for the opportunity to read and review this book.

3.5 stars as I thought maybe this book would appeal more to a more younger reader than myself as it also focuses on drug issues among high schoolers. This also covers PTSD, family grief, dog adoption, and a slow burn romance. A lot of topics n one story that concluded very well. Not my favorite Macomber but others may enjoy this more.
