If you’re ever feeling stressed or down, a Debbie Macomber book is the place to go. Like her previous books this one is filled with warmth and love.

This story of overcoming the challenges of life proves to be a heart wrenching one. I found myself rooting for everyone. The outcome was even better than I anticipated. It was an exhilarating, tense and refreshing. Pure Debbie Macomber good. Book provided by NetGalley.

Another awesome book by Debbie Macomber. Whenever you pick up her books you know that, without a doubt, that it will be a great read. This one is no exception. Once I picked it up I could not put it down.

Cade is a veteran who has not spoken to his parents in over six years, he has gotten himself in some trouble and is in court in front of the Judge when he sees his Mom in the court room.

Hope is also having issues dealing with the lose of her brother Hunter who died in the Military over two years ago.

The story is an emotional read and will have you hooked from the moment you open the book.

I love Debbie Macomber books and this one did not disappoint. Hope is looking for a new start in a new town. She applies and is hired as a new teacher at Oceanside High School in Oceanside, Washington. She is enjoying her new town and making some friends. But she needs something else in her life so she starts volunteering at the local animal shelter. There she meets Cade, a veteran with some secrets and demons of his own. At first Cade did not want to be friends with anyone working there. He kept his head down and did his job. But he soon noticed Hope. Hope started working with a rescue dog, Shadow, that had some trust issues of his own. Before long Hope had won over both Shadow and Cade.
We also see some drama between some of the students at the high school that Hope becomes involved with as well. There are lots of personal ups and downs for the characters in this story and how they deal with these will help lots of other people dealing with similar situations.

Hope and Cade are 2 damaged souls who find each other. Trust doesn’t come easily but they manage to form a relationship that is tested by outside forces. I liked the 2 main characters and was rooting for them. The story will hold your interest and the ending is a predictable happily ever after. Thank you to net galley for an advanced readers copy.

I have read many of the author’s past books and I found this one fell a bit short of her best work.

Hope Godwin is a teacher/counselor at the high school in the small community of Oceanside, Washington. Having lost her twin brother two years ago – her only family – she moved from California for a fresh start. Her loneliness is assuaged when she adopts Shadow, an abused rescue dog that responds to her loving acceptance and compassion. While at the animal shelter, she meets Cade Lincoln, an army vet who is struggling with survivor’s guilt and a physical disability due to his service. Attempting to cope with his demons, he turns to alcohol, only to wind up in court and ordered to go into counseling and to perform community service. The story unfolds as the two try to forge a relationship in spite of their emotional wounds…it is a rocky course, compounded by family issues and the demands of Hope’s position at the high school.

The two main characters are both believable and relatable, yet I felt no real connection with them. The issues addressed (loss, grief, PTSD, veterans struggling to reenter mainstream society, teen drug use) are certainly worthy of exploration, but I didn’t feel inspired by the story. In short, it turned out to be an okay read, but not one I’ll pick up again.

This is my first book from this author but I’m looking forward to reading more of her stories. I adored her writing style. This is such an enjoyable read with multilayered characters. I highly recommend it.

A romance takes place in a small seaside town. It's life in a small town. Debbie Macomber does it again. She wrote a novel that I didn't want to put down. This book is full of romance and a bit of drama. I'm sure you will love reading about the characters and will want to stay up all night reading.

Hope is a teacher starting over in a new town after the death of her brother. Cade is former military who is struggling with mental and physical wounds from his service. They meet at the local pet shelter where Hope is volunteering and Cade is doing community service. Hope's determination to change the life of one dog, Shadow, gives Cade hope that his life can change too.

This is a sweet story that wants to be harder hitting than it actually is. The book deals with wounded veterans, but the emotional pull is minimal. Hope and Cade are likeable characters with pasts that are grounded in reality. There is a side story featuring teenagers that is less realistic and is more of a distraction.

Overall it is a solid story with nothing unexpected or unique. Family friendly but with some darker themes.

The Best Is Yet to Come by Debbie Macomber is a beauty.
This story had me captivated from beginning to end. 
Her prose is easy and smooth, and along with her warm-hearted but un-Pollyanna-like stories, results in a unique style.
The story hits you in all the right spots and delivered an amazing, heartwarming and smart romance I could not get enough of.
Macomber delivers a wonderful setting and enjoyable characters for this new romantic book.
I very much enjoyed everything about TBIYTC. I opened it up yesterday morning and finished it early this morning. I was invested.
For this to be my first Macomber read, I can't wait to read her backlog.

I have read nearly every Debbie Macomber story. She is one of my favorite authors, and I love how her style of writing makes it comforting to read a story. You know how the story will end, and you feel safe reading it.

This is another great book from Debbie Macomber. It is one you will not want to put down. The two main characters are Hope and Cade. They meet at an animal shelter as volunteers. Hope is a teacher and counselor, Cade is a veteran and a mechanic. They both have issues but together they work them out and fall in love.

I really enjoyed this book! It was sweet, romantic, and full of hope and I was hooked from the first chapter!

What a fantastic book by Debbie Macomber! This one seemed different to me from her other books. This one with Cade having a military background and Hope's brother having a military background put a different spin on it from her other books. They both needed lots of patience with each other from all they had been through. They had it and love to give.....if they were willing! Thanks for the great book!

Another couple conquers the world together in Oceanside.
Cade is dealing with the trauma of the loss of his two best friends and his own injuries in a military incident. He struggles understanding why he is still alive and his friends are dead. He struggles with the feelings of failure for not being able to save them. He is angry and he is lashes out. This lands him in the court system. The court mandates that he deals with these problems through therapies and he gets community service.
Hope is a school teacher who is suffering from the loss of everyone close to her, including her twin brother. Haunted by loved ones in her every day life she picks up and moves across the map for a fresh start. This lands her in Oceanside. She volunteers at the animal shelter, the same place Cade is doing his community service.
Their suffering from the loss of people they cared dearly about creates their connection.

Like any other romance, it's predictable, yet it remains enjoyable, while maintaining the loved characters in Oceanside from previous reads. It creates a nice community feel. Not a series, just a community. You can read just one or you can pick up another and be like, "Hey, I remember them!"

I enjoyed this book. I have read every book Debbie Macomber has written. They never disappoint. Looking forward to reading the next one.

Two broken people (and a broken dog) come together in The Best is Yet to Come, a saisfying romance by Debbie Macomber. Hope relocated to Oceanside, WA after her twin brother’s death in Afghanistan. He was her only relative and she is dealing with being totally alone. Cade Lincoln is a veteran with physical and emotional war wounds. They meet at an animal shelter where Cade is fulfilling a community service requirement after a bar fight and Hope is trying to fill her free hours. Shadow, an agressive, abused dog, bonds with Hope and she adopts him. Cade is impressed with her patience with the dog, the same patience that begins to break away the wall around him blocking his feelings. As their relationship grows, Hope discovers a serious problem at the local high school where she is a guidance counselor and teacher. With Cade’s help, the problem is solved but not before Hope has to deal with threats and violence.

Debbie Macomber always delivers a story with an ending that makes you smile and The Best is Yet to Come is no exception. You know from the first chapters that Cade and Hope will be together but Debbie’s magic keeps you turning the pages as they face problem after problem. The small town of Oceanside is a character itself. Various residents have been featured in past novels with this setting so the reader has the pleasure of seeing how they are doing now. This is a solid, enjoyable read. 5 stars.
