This is a great way to introduce young children to extraordinary women in history. The illustrations were great, and information provided in short, but informative sentences. There was a wide range of women presented in this book and many topics covered. I would highly recommend this book for parents for their child's first library. It's a great book for inspiring readers very early in life.

I would like to thank Rebel Girls for providing me with an ARC.

A lovely book for younger girls, which has colorful and eye catching illustrations and a brief write up about all the different women who achieved great things. It’s easy to read and follow for pre-school aged kids.
Definitely a nice beginning to start off your girls on the rebel girls book journey.

**Thank you to Rebel Girls and NetGalley for the eARC of this title. This in no way changed my rating**

I have read many of the Rebel Girls books, so I was excited to see how they would adapt this for a younger child. For the most part, I think it was well done. The art is engaging and interesting. The choice of women highlighted were diverse and span long periods of time in history. I have a few nitpicky things that would keep it from being a 5 for me, but overall, it would be a welcome addition to any home collection or library.

My few critiques are that I would flip the first two paragraphs on the first page. The second paragraph is introducing the premise of the book and the first one is about Amelia Earhart. It just makes more sense to me for those to be switched since paragraph two is introducing "women [who] have dared, dreamed, and discovered."

This is me being very specific, but I would've picked Katherine Johnson over Margaret Hamilton. Hamilton's contributions were very important, but Johnson came first and her calculations were used to double check Hamilton's work when NASA first started using electronic displays in space.

Overall, there is a wide range of athletes, artists, politicians, and other important women highlighted in a way that is mostly appropriate for the age group. Parts are a little wordy, but I think it's a title you would read multiple times with a child, so that's ok. Another great addition to the Rebel Girls lineup.

Wow! This book is awesome! I have the Rebel Girls series for my older daughter, but it never made sense to read it to my youngest. I love that I can start with these stories at a more accessible level. A must buy for anyone with daughters!

Great book for introducing young children to female role models with bright colourful images that will attract their attention. Introducing and talking about these women at such a young age really normalises that fact that women can dominate such a range of careers and feats, so that perhaps when hey become adults gender equality is the norm and not something that has to be fought for.
It’s a fabulous way to open up conversations about both the women and also what they did and find out what you’re little ones’ dreams are. I like the geographical diversity of the stories, the range of areas in which they followed their dreams or just ruled and also the reminder that women have achieved through the ages, it’s not just a modern phenomenon.

Such a cute little book to read with the little girls. I think every mom, or aunt, who has a babygirl should have this book for a night time reads. This will inspire them to be what ever they wanna be in life.

The perfect book for kids when you're tucking them in for the night. "Good Night Stories for Rebel Girls: Baby's First Book of Extraordinary Women' is a illustrated book, easily written for children. Filled with simple, yet meaningful words from iconic women, this children's book is phenomenal. Educative, interactive and thought-provoking for young minds. And as always, I loved the illustrations, they're so perfect for this book.

I received a arc of this book from NetGally in exhcahnge for an honest review.

This is a wonderful little book with brief stories of some amazing women in history. The colours and the pictures are really captivating and would easily draw and keep a childs attention.
I would say the langauge and length of descriptions would make the book more suited to the pre-school age as apposed to a baby.

This genius board book highlights women and girls who have made a difference in our world. Their accomplishments, discoveries, and derring-do will inspire young children (male or female) to follow their dreams—despite naysayers.

Parents and grandparents will want to purchase this book and read it often. If your child or grandchild has passed the board book stage, order a box set of Good Night Stories for Rebel Girls and spend time reading one short story a day—almost enough to last an entire year (300 stories). A pronunciation guide for names would come in handy, though. I hate butchering people's names.

Forget the Little Engine That Could, our daughters and granddaughters need to hear this message: No matter your race, circumstances, education, or upbringing, you can achieve great things if you believe in yourself and follow your dreams.

I've read the adult version of Good Night Stories and found the toddler version to be adorable! I had fun reading it and it was great practice for reading unfamiliar material to toddlers. It even is strongly written for young kids, it provides them with information but not too much. It also encourages further learning. So many of my kids love learning and this gives them lots of women to learn about along with new topics of intrest.

My 3yo daughter and I absolutely LOVE the Rebel Girls Series. Though she's a bit young to understand much of what we read in the story collections, she absolutely loves seeing women of all ages, colours, sizes being bad@$$!! We very much amp up Girl Power in our house!! I was absolutely delighted to be selected to read the Baby's First Book edition, and will absolutely buy it for friends having baby girls. The artwork, as always, is gorgeous; a few sentences about each woman is perfect. Thank you to NetGalley and Rebel Girls for the eARC in exchange for my honest review.

The board book format means that this one can be passed down and passed around. The excellent choices of extraordinary women and simplified explanations means that there is an excellent opportunity for embellishing what is written. Also, this is a good book for ESL! They are an inspiration to us all! And the illustrations are impressive, as well. I plan to buy one for my local library, too.
I requested and received a temporary digital ARC of this book from Rebel Girls via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. Thank you!

Growing up, I just wish there was a series like this as I would have loved it so much and been inspired probably to become someone great or make something of myself as I have that activist spirit and the passion but just not the courage or opportunity as I am an introvert and not in the right situation to do something like this as I have bills to pay and responsibilities. Before Covid and the relationship, I am in now. I had always thought that if I was single when I finished my degree, I was going to join the VSA Volunteers Service Abroad and work on a pacific island. VSA is like Volunteers with degrees, so you could be working as a librarian in a third world country, etc. The idea always sparked interest for me and in my heart - that's what I wanted to do is serve and do something like this but life takes us down unexpected journeys and it just wasn't meant to be. This series Rebel Girls is amazing and provides girls of all ages with strong female role models. The majority of the Rebel Girls books have been aimed at the 7-10 years old age range but now they have released a baby's version board book style that touches briefly in one sentence a variety of strong female role models from Jane Austen to Cleopatra to Jane Goodall and Frieda Kahlo. This is perfect for ages 0-6 years old and a must-have staple book for all baby daughters.

Good Night Stories for Rebel Girls, Baby's First Book of Extraordinary Women has been adapted into a board book. Like the other books in the series, this book gives so many examples of girls who worked hard to acheive their dreams. The reader learns about scientists, athletes, political activists, and even a Supreme Court Justice. This book is a great way to start teaching little girls early that they can be anything they want to be!

Beautiful and colourful illustrations make this book visually very appealing to young children.

A number of trailblazing women across various fields are briefly introduced, providing starting points for more in depth discussion as the child grows older.

Finally, you close your eyes and imagine all the adventures you will go on and the exciting things you will learn, whilst remembering to always be uniquely you.

A little book with a big message. Thought this was a very simple but strong introduction to women trailblazers for toddler's.

The bright colours and contrasting portraits really catch your eye. I believe that different illustrators have worked on the portraits of each one of these female figures as the styles are all so different - it's a really nice concept but I personally would have preferred the consistency of a single illustration style.

Overall, have really enjoyed this and think it provides moments for learning and discussion for both children and grownups alike!
