Good Night Stories for Rebel Girls: Baby's First Book of Extraordinary Women is a very cute baby book version of the stories that appear throughout the Good Night Stories for Rebel Girls series. The illustrations are cute and the women included are a decent selection. Each of the women featured gets a one to two sentence bio--these have a good flow, and just enough info to be somewhat useful without being too much for babies. I think I actually would have preferred the baby books to be about individual women so that there could be more info (and more cool baby books), but this is still cute and worth the read!

I LOVED THIS BOOK, oh my freaking gosh! It was so stinking cute and I read it to my nephew first, since he's only 6 months old, then shared this with my nieces, who both also loved it and kept asking questions about the women (which we love in this house.) I would buy this book over and over again. 5 out of 5 stars.

Rebel Girls are starting their education early with this wonderful baby book filled with lustrously colourful images of 28 women whose lives are briefly told about in Good Night Stories for Rebel Girls: Baby's First Book of Extraordinary Women.

From Ruth Bader Ginnsberg to Manal Al-Sharif to The Cholita Climbers, there is variety and wonder for you to read to your little one and as I've said, stunning artwork which will hold their attention as well as the sound of your voice. This is a book that will go from you reading to your little one to them learning by themselves about some truly incredible women in history.

Again, I wish there was some transwomen representation as acceptance from those who are young will help remove the animosity that exists now but this is Rebel Girls first step into the early learning area of reading and education so perhaps it will happen in the second book? Please.

These books are as I always say, I wonderful way of learning and I think it's an excellent idea to bring it to little ones with this beautiful board book.

Congratulations again Rebel Girls on what will be a well received and wonderfully designed collection of mini biographies.

This was a super cute little story! I loved reading it to my little niece and bubba nephew (though I think he mostly just enjoyed the sound of my voice) and will enjoy giving out physical copies as gifts for little ones when I can order them. The illustrations are colourful and lovely, the wording flows really well and it's a fun read.

This is a lovely, simplified version of Good Night Stories for Rebel Girls in board book form.

I really enjoyed reading about each of the women included and my six month old daughter loved the bright, bold illustrations.

This is one book that I'd be happy to reread multiple times.

Thank you to NetGalley, the publisher, and the author for giving me a free digital copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

I am a HUGE fan of the Rebel Girls series and was so thrilled to see a baby version coming! I loved that it still touched on so many strong females like the originals yet kept it short for little ones and included many sounds to keep their attention like the vroom of the bud & car, the Whoosh of the space ship, etc.. & ending with the encouraging words teaching all of our girls to be rebels themselves!
I hope this series for the littles continues with more books in the future as the older girl version does.
This will be one of my must buys for baby shower gifts!

I am obsessed with this series for my kiddos, and love to have a copy that’s more tailored towards my youngest! Give me ALL the rebel girls for my rebel girls!

Revel Girls series never disappoints. Happy to see this book for very young children. This would be a perfect read aloud for them.

I really enjoyed this book! The vibrant and bright illustrations highlighted the lives of so many bright and vibrant women from all over the world. I was impressed with how many women were highlighted in a succinct and clear way. Not only were women from past history mentioned, but also women still living and making a difference today. There was also a good balance of women represented from different continents and ethnic backgrounds. This would also be a great tool to help young minds know about some women they would like to research a little bit more. I would enjoy a whole series of these books if they were to be written.

The target audience is more of a "baby's first" foray into important women, but I think it would probably work best for ages 3-4 as an introduction and then kindergarten-grade school as a child would be learning to read or start to think about "heroes and heroines". I think it could, with the help of an adult or older sibling be of use to a wider variety of ages and not just for babies. This is definitely a good addition for a grade school classroom as well as the home library.

Thank you Net Galley for providing me with a free eARC for this honest review.

I grew up with reading the fairy tales and local folklore stories when i was a child. However, they weren't always inspiring and can be rather dampening for a growing up and a young girl with their sexist and damsels-in-distress images. That is not the image that i wanted to build in myself and in my daughters minds in the future, nor to any girls.

Therefore, i am glad to see the Rebel Girls coming up with the initiative by introducing this board book meant for the babies as their early exposure and nurture towards a healthier and stronger images of girls and women from a very young age as that is a very crucial age for minds and self development. So,we must be very careful with what we are feeding and teaching our children from their very early ages, if we want them to grow up normal, having a good and positive self-image and confidence in themselves.

Through this vibrantly illustrated board book, we are introduced to a list of a number of amazing women who were successful in their respective fields that we can easily tell to the young children and babies at anytime (not just during bedtimes),instead of feeding them with those fairy tales which are usually full of violence and damsels-in-distress kind of women characters which are self-demeaning and damaging for a girl's minds and self-images.

However, now with this book, we can tell the stories to our young girls on how
We,women do not need the saving by men as we are capable of saving ourselves. We can do whatever we set our minds into. We are our own free being and can lead the life that we wanted to. We can bring changes in the society and help saving the planet and make it a better place. We deserves the same rights as men; the right for education, the right of better treatment and respect, the right in employment, etc and should be judged based on our own abilities and talents not on our gender.

The condensed version of the stories and very short one or two sentences makes this book a perfect book where we can easily share and impart this knowledge and messages to our girls or they can also read by themselves when they are older and be reminded of all of those wonderful and positive things (even as a reminder and self-motivation for ourselves).

Thank you Rebel Girls for constantly bringing us inspirational stories.

Ok, I'm in love with this book. Knowing that women can be strong and do anything a man can do, is something we should be teaching children as soon as they are born and this book is a fantastic way to do that. As a 30 year old woman, this even taught me about some powerful women that I have never heard of. I can't wait until this is released so I can get it for all the little rebel girls in my life. My goddaughter is 3 and is already one of the most strong willed little ladies that I have ever known and I know she will love this book. The pictures are bright and colorful so it is engaging for babies to look at and work their little brains. I hope this book reaches so many girls and shows them that anything is possible and that they can change the world no matter who they are and no one can stop them.

Thank you NetGalley for giving me a preview of this book.

I was looking for something like this when my daughter was just a newborn! Short (like really short!) stories with marvelous pictures are the best option for the first-ever book about the rebel girls for the youngest. It looks perfect!

Like the book, I wish I had it earlier and will definitely buy it as a welcome gift for any baby girl.

I love the Rebel Girls series and this one is no exception. It’s a board book aimed at “babies”, judging from the subtitle (Baby’s First Book….). My only reservation is that I don’t think the content will interest actual babies - maybe a 2-4 year old. I wish I had someone age-appropriate around to test it on, but I don’t. The pictures are all bright and colorful (as always with Rebel Girl books) and they will certainly attract the young set, but I’d be curious to know if such little ones will relate to the content.

Thank you to NetGalley and Rebel Girls for the opportunity to read an advance readers copy of this book. All opinions are my own.

Yet another great book from the Rebel Girl series. I love how it has been adapted for even younger children to introduce them to empowering women even earlier in life! The mix between Joan Jett, Malala and Marie Currie was fantastic, showing you can do anything you want!

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for this advanced copy.

Yet another hit from the Rebel Girls series. In Baby's First Book of Extraordinary Women, vibrant images accompany short stories about remarkable women that can be an inspiration to all children.

As a mother of a strong willed two year old I absolutely loved this book. It is so important to teach little ones that the world is theirs for the taking. Most books targeted to little girls are about ballerinas or very specific girly things. It was a nice change to throw in a rock n roller and Olympic athlete and all other extraordinary people! Well done!

This is the third book from Rebel Girls that I have read and I loved them all! This book is a book for babies and little children, where we shortly introduce to them amazing and successful women in history. This book is not specialized in a certain area, such as business or environment, rather it has a little bit of everything.

We are introduced to Jane Goodall, Marie Currie, Malala, or Simone Biles. I adore the format of this book and I think it's a brilliant little book to read to your baby daughter before bed time.

I received an electronic ARC from Rebel Girls through NetGalley.
Delightful book for toddlers and preschoolers to plant seeds about how amazing they are. Each page introduces young readers to women who have broken barriers, pushed themselves to be their best, and worked in any field they chose. Their stories are told in a few brief sentences written at a level young readers will understand. Lovely illustrations bring these women to life.
I love the end where the authors challenge readers to begin thinking about their own interests. They are encouraged to believe in themselves and grow into rebel girls too.

Good Night Stories for Rebel Girls: Baby's First Book of Extraordinary Women by Rebel Girls is a beautifully written and illustrated storybook for infants, toddlers, and young readers. It truly is designed as the first book of Rebel Girls for young children.

It introduces the Rebel Girls/Women to young readers at the level at which they can understand and will give them the information to get them ready for the next book in the Rebel Girls series.

I loved everything about this for young readers!
