Sorry but I just could to get into this audiobook at all - the characters were awful and whiny - I do think that's always more obvious within an audiobook. I tried 3 times but to no avail.

What a fabulous idea for a book. Perhaps the people I hang out with are a bit more forward-thinking than the characters in the book. From the moment the party attendee turns up dead the book goes off the rails. It seems every character is determined to do the dumbest thing they can imagine. The decisions made are beyond ridiculous and truly make no sense. None of the characters behave as adults – even in a state of shock or a defensive position.

The murderer was a stretch at best and the motive for the murder was over-the-top stupid.

However, if you step away from the overall stupidity of everyone involved and rely very heavily on suspension of disbelief, then it could be a good rainy afternoon read.

I’ve not read anything from Mr. Wilkinson previously and may not again. It was a truly inspired idea and he just did not deliver.

I love Books by this author, he’s an amazing writer.
Having been unable to download this as audio book due to something wrong with my Netgalley app
I have purchased the book on Kindle and will update my review once I’ve read it.
There was nothing wrong with the book it’s my app that’s having a dizzy.

This was my first book by the author. The cover is lovely and the book blurb is very enticing. The author’s descriptive writing style is very entertaining and I had quite a few giggles! At one point he compared the way someone walked to that of a “constipated crab”. That’s a new one for me!

But the story itself wasn’t for me. This is the second audiobook I’ve listened to recently that had narrators that didn’t keep me engaged. Maybe this would have been better as an actual read. I’d like to try another book by Mr. Wilkinson in the future because I did enjoy his sense of humor.

Thank you to Bookouture Audio for providing this audiobook through NetGalley. All opinions are my own.

I feel as though this book read like a typical whodunit? However, I did not enjoy the characters at all. Maybe we are supposed to hate them?

Slow-burning, twisty and suspenseful thriller with great narration.

Before she leaves to go travelling, Hannah has arranged a farewell party with family and friends staying overnight in a luxury house. The following morning one of them is found dead. Hannah is keen to tell the police but is talked out of it. With them all seeming to have something to hide was it really an accident?

The Party at Number 12 was a slow burn that never really caught fire for me. The writing was ok. The narration was good. But something was just...missing. Not my favorite by this author.

Thank you to NetGalley, the Publisher and Author for supplying me with an audio copy of this book for review.

This was a little bit of a slow burn mystery. You know that someone is dead and not sure how or why. With a timeline flipping from the present, and back to the party, you are slowly brought into the know.

Tasmin Kennard and Andrew Kingston brought the story to life. I enjoyed their narration as they kept me engaged.

I liked the idea of teasing what's to come next at the end of each chapter. There were lots of red herrings to keep you guessing through the whole book.

I can’t wait to listen to his next book.

This book was... boring. That start, middle, and end were filled with boring, well, filler about how guilty Hannah felt and Zach following everyone around and not really doing much. The only semi-exciting part was the cover-up.
Also, everything wrapped up way too cleanly and, quite frankly, unrealistically. You're telling me that after everything Hannah doesn't even get probation for obstruction of justice?
Filler and plot convenience, that's how I'd label this book.

I’m a huge Kerry Wilkinson fan, so when I saw his latest release offered as an audio I couldn’t resist! And once again… he delivers!

Newly divorced, Hanna decides to throw herself a well-deserved going away party for herself before setting off on a dream trip abroad. She’s even rented a house so she can have her family and a few of her closest friends over to celebrate.

But of course, not everyone gets along. Not everyone feels welcome. Not everyone will survive the night!

This was truly a superb, thrilling audio. Though guessing the ending correctly I still savored every single minute. So good in fact I flew through this one in just a few sittings.

Already looking forward to see what this author is cooking up next! Once again, I might hold out for the audio!

Goodness, but deviousness abounds in this world! This kept me entertained for ages, the narration was, for the most part, quite good and the story itself enjoyable. I do have to say though, I do think it was a bit of stretch, I mean, what would you have done? It goes to show, you really need to think twice before embarking on a path you may not be able to follow to the end. I would like to read the book, as I think this is one of those better read than listened to.

Three and a half stars. Thanks to NetGalley, the publisher and author for my ARC.

This mystery/thriller was fast paced, and entertaining. The overall concept was intriguing, and the audiobook was an enjoyable listen. There were a lot of characters introduced very quickly, and that made it difficult for me to keep them all straight at first. It did also get a bit slow in the middle. There was a lot of build up and quite a bit of suspense, but ultimately the conclusion was quick. I would have loved a bit more into motive or explanation, but it was understandable that you can't always get all the details you want.

This is a thriller that I would say is pretty much what you expect from a thriller, and that’s a good thing. It’s fun to get into and lose yourself for a bit.
Hannah is leaving for travels so she is having a bit of a party to say goodbye. They rent a beautiful townhouse with an exceptional sparkling chandelier. Hannah’s sister, her mother, her aunt, and her two best friends are all there to say their fond farewells. So, they celebrate and raise a toast to whatever lies ahead.
The next morning, one of the women is found dead in her bed.
Hannah desperately wants to call the police. It must have been an accident and therefore there is no reason not to. However, it’s soon found out that one of them has reason not to report it so they do the only thing they can think of.
You soon see that everyone of them had something to hid from a mother that will do anything to protect her daughters to best friends with secrets.
This was pretty good. I tried to keep spoilers out and had to keep it short due to the thriller aspect. I wouldn’t want to ruin it for you!
If you are an avid thriller fan, I definitely recommend giving it a shot.

I enjoyed the content and the plot of the book. However, I was constantly distracted by the narrator, as I did not find her voice pleasing. Great mystery and crime solving elements!

This intriguing story begins with a women’s overnight get-together. The festivities take place at a rented house. When one of the women dies, a bunch of bad decisions are made. I couldn’t put The Party at Number 12 down.

What appears to be an unfortunate fall leading to death, turns out to be an intriguing mystery with interesting characters and relationships. This mystery kept me guessing all the way through. I would absolutely love to read more from Kerry Wilkinson!

This book was a very enjoyable page turner. I read a lot of these type of books and I'm pretty good at figuring out whodunit. This book however kept me on my toes and wondering till the end. I haven't ventured into Kerry Wilkinson books before now but I will definitely be picking up a few. Thanks to Netgalley

I love Kerry's books however his latest audiobook The Party at Number 12 by Kerry Wilkinson Narrated by: Tamsin Kennard, and Andrew Kingston was excellent. The narrators were excellent and did well telling the story and having you gripped from the beginning. All of Kerry's books are a 5 Star read and this one was no different.

I highly recommend this book and audiobook! Excellent book.

Big thank you to Netgalley and Bookouture for supplying a copy of this novel and audiobook in exchange for an honest review.

"The Party at no 12" offers a interesting look into a question. What if a accidental death accured in your house and you decide to cover it up?

We meet Hanna, who invites eight women to celebrate a going away party. two of them are mothers and the rest of the six are her friends/relatives. One of them will be dead by the morning. Secrets will be revealed but the biggest question is, did someone kill this person and if so, why?

I did enjoy it, it was a fun journey. I rated it 3.5 and I do recommend it if you're looking for a different type of thriller.
