A fun little book for fans of Shakespeare, HP Lovecraft, and irreverent mash-ups. Follow favorite characters from The Tempest, the Scottish Play, Romeo and Juliet, Hamlet, and more as they battle (mostly, I see you Richard) against the minions of Chthulu. Written in the style of the great bard, often taking and twisting favorite lines to suit the context, you'll laugh at how odd it all seems as Lady MacBeth battles dark creatures, as Miranda tries to save her father.
From what I read of this, it didn't quite hit the mark for me. Humor is really hard to get right and I love the idea of this, but something in the execution didn't get me to engage enough to want to dive too deeply in.
Sorry, but this title did not hold my interest. Therefore I never read it completely and could not review it because of that.
The writing style attempts at emulating both Shakespeare's and HPL's. In my opinion, sometimes it manages, and sometimes it fails, making reading somewhat fastidious; I'm thinking about the heavy use of adverbs stacked almost one upon the other, among other things, which made a lot of sentences and paragraphs look weird. This is somewhat paradoxical, considering how short the book is
