User Research is a handy resource tool for usability and user design. This book is more a reference guide for user research and I found some of the suggestions helpful.

User Research is the guidebook, the perfect reference book for anyone that does User Research. As a student of UX design, this book has been incredibly handy in understanding the research aspect of UX. It helps you understand all the kinds of user research you might need to do, and it gives you examples, tips, and benefits of each. Perfect for a beginner in User Research or someone with vast experience, it is useful and highlights the importance of keeping up with any changes in that career path.

The book is textbook-like, with lots of information with not enough graphics to support it, I like to read business books to help me at work, but the way this is formatted, I wouldn’t consider it a leisure work read. This would be great for a course with supplemental lessons.

User research is super important for any business at multiple levels: from product dever, to customer satisfaction and more. Knowing how to run a research that can support business needs is vital. You can learn through trial and error or start with some theory which you can put into practice. This book should be approached in two ways: screen it through to understand the contents and then you need to get back to it for specific knowledge you need for specific research type or for specific area of research to you are looking to refresh. This is not a book for pleasure reading but very useful.
