A marriage of connivence that came from a case of mistaken identity. sign me up, I'm all in. Nervous spinster Lady Sara gets accosted by rouge Duke Ian at a costume ball. He just happened to be looking for someone to help rein in his new wards and this set of circumstances might be just what he needed, even if his new wife is driving him mad with her butterfly searching, passionate bedroom sport, and seeming indifference. How will these two come to terms and who will break first? It's a must read for sure!

I received an arc of Never Marry a Scandalous Duke by Renee Ann Miller through NetGalley. This is the sixth installment in the Infamous Lords series.

This is the first book I've read by Renee Ann Miller, and I was definitely impressed. The beginning was my favorite part of the book. Their interaction, proposal, and marriage were very well-paced and immediately hooked me in. Lady Sara is a headstrong, intelligent woman I couldn’t help but root for. As for Ian, his interactions with the cat were so damn cute. They had a rough beginning because they were two very different people and neither one of them ever thought that they would marry but they did get their hea.

The conspiracy at the end did seem a bit unnecessary and the book did get a little boring in the middle; other than that I really enjoyed this book.

This book came to me via Netgalley at the perfect time. I have been going through something deeply personal and it was perfectly engaging where I could mentally take a break for a couple of hours.

The story is about Lady Sara an entomologist who because of one incident involving a high-pitched giggle is firmly on the fence even though her family refuses to believe it. Even though she is 27 and firmly on the shelve her family pushes her time and time again towards getting married. One night dressed as a shepherd she is mistaken for the lover of the Duke of Dorcester and as he kisses her senselessly she is caught by her brother.

What I liked:
1. Sara- She was so lovely! Sweet and sunshiney. Super smart and witty, and when we are introduced to her she grows a backbone!
2. Chemistry: I really like how they interacted with each other.
3. TTheir Differences: I really liked how they were so different but learned to live together in peace and love.

What I didn't like:

1. The last-minute plot twist: Completely unnecessary to the story.
2. The kids: I just don't like them, IDK if they were there to show Sara as a mother but she never becomes one in the story so 3 kids just seem excessive,

Overall I really really enjoyed this one! Buy it or borrow it at your local library. It's a good one!

This author was a new one for me and I'm so happy to have found her! Ian and Sara were a great couple. They had a rough beginning because they were two very different people and neither one of them ever thought that they would marry. Ian is the best hero that I've read about in a long time. He is a Duke but he is also a businessman. In the beginning of the book, Ian is a rake but he commits to his marriage. Sara is a bit eccentric but not annoyingly so. The couple is thrown a wrench near the end of the book in the form of Ian's former flame. Thankfully, this problem is dealt with quickly and cleanly. The reader isn't forced to read through extra chapters packed full of lies and misunderstandings.
This book also features many funny moments and some steam. I'm looking forward to reading more from this author. Thanks to NetGalley for providing me with a free copy in exchange for an honest review.

I'll start off by saying this book easily gets five stars. All of them could be earned on Lady Sara Elsmere's character alone! After being verbally torn down by those that should love her, the joy she was able to exude towards life was beyond admirable. It was no wonder she had everyone eating out of her hand at the Dorchester estate.
Another five stars goes to the Duke of Dorchester, Ian McAllister. There was little doubt he would take to Sara like a moth to a flame (does that go for butterflies?). His immediate care for Sara showed how quickly she captivated him.
Once the Duke's trouble prone wards, along with his household staff were added to the mix, it seemed to be lights out perfection... and then a kitten was introduced!
This was an unbelievably crafted story with the only negative being that it came to an end.

I loved this book! I could not put it down. Marriage of convenience is one of my favorite troupes and this one was great! It grabbed me from the first page. Sara was so engaging as the giggling entomologist and Ian was perfect as the scandalous Duke. His wards were the perfect mix of mischief and adorable which really showcased how loving both Sara and Ian were. It didn't have unbearable or frustrating tension which I really appreciated. And the ending was diabolical enough to satisfy. I didn't realize this was the last book in a series, so I am really looking forward to now reading the rest of the books.

I received "Never Marry A Scandalous Duke" from Netgalley and voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. Renee Ann Miller has written another excellent story for her Infamous Lords series.
Lady Sara Elsmere loves studying her insects and butterflies, a true entomologist. The Duke of Dorchester, Ian McAllister, is a man badly hurt in love in his youth, but as a result of having a vicious and cruel father, has made himself a hard working man of great worth. He has two young mischievous male wards he is in charge of who he can't seem to handle. A case of mistaken identity leads to some kissing between the two lead characters who have vowed never to marry, which leads to being caught and compromised, which leads to a marriage of convenience. However, their journey is full of sensual encounters and a growing magnetic attraction. They both learn to love and grow. Sara has a heart of gold and accepts Ian's wards without qualms. Ian is fascinated by this woman who wears drab clothes and hides her wonderful caring nature. A beautiful story!

Sixth in a series, but works well as a standalone. Sweet story of an emotionally closed off Duke and Sara, an independent minded entomologist. Funny and sweet, with some rascally wards and engaging secondary characters. There was a slightly unnecessary sinister plot towards the end, which I didn't feel added much to the story but all in all an enjoyable read.

A rather sweet love story. I liked it. Some anachronisms are a bit annoying (references to things that didn't exist when the story takes place; not that hard to check)

What lower the rating of this book for me was the rather strange plot at the very end of the book. The little conspiracy brought nothing to the story and the resolution would have been the same without it.

Overall a pleasant read.

Very good book. Ian and Sara get married because they are caught in a compromising position- even though Ian mistook her for another woman. But decides to marry Sara because he thinks she will be a good influence for his two young wards. They have a natural chemistry that turns into something more. Fast paced but great detail! I couldn’t put this book down! A must read!

I haven't read any of Renee's books before but I'm definitely going to be looking into getting her other books! This was a great story. Sara was likable from the beginning and drew me right in. I'm a fan of a feisty female. Ian was great from the beginning as well. Great story and I will be looking forwa4d to her next book.

In the eyes of the ton, Lady Sara Elsmere is so firmly on the shelf, She is far more concerned about her study of butterflies than society’s gossip. Except for one: the rake who pulls her into a dark room during a costume ball and kisses her senseless. He doesn’t make her titter, he makes her burn . . .

Ian McAllister, the Duke of Dorchester, finds he has kissed the wrong shepherdess, albeit a decidedly luscious one, His indiscretion with an innocent may cost him a lucrative business arrangement—and his two scapegrace wards need a maternal influence they can’t scare away. Promising Sara the use of her dowry to fund her studies seals the pair’s businesslike deal. But as they embark on their life together, they discover that their mutual attraction has sparked a desire not easily tamed—and certain feelings each of them are surprised to own. Can their matrimonial experiment possibly end in real love?

I love Renee Ann Miller's books. Her characters are wonderfully drawn. I love how smart Lady Sara is. Ian is wonderful with his wards. Lots of chemistry and smart banter. A fun, light-hearted historical romance.

Thanks to the publisher for the arc.
