This one had rav reviews and while I enjoyed parts overall it just wasn't for me. Definitely a me thing and nothing against the book itself. I would still recommend to mystery/thriller enthusiasts. Many thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for an early digital copy in exchange for my honest review.

I really enjoyed this book. It was well written and kept you hooked right from the beginning. I couldn’t put this book down!

2⭐️

I wanted to like this book, I really did. It sounds exciting. But I just didn’t find it engaging and it took me a while to finish it.

I did like that the characters were unlikeable. I’m a big fan of unlikeable characters, which is why I gave it 2 stars. Overall though, for me, the actual story did not match the excitement of the description.

Thank you to NetGalley for a copy of this ebook in exchange for an honest review.

An okay read that I found to be predictable and a little slow at times. The story is told in 2 POV of the 2 Sara's.

Exciting premise! Great start and then it just seemed to fizzle out. It picked up and dropped multiple times. The ending was predictable.

This one did nothing for me. The writing was so juvenile. Sarah with an H was an annoying, entitled brat. And Sara without an H was just a manipulative and nosy mess.

I couldn’t connect with any characters and didn’t really care about the outcome.

Thank you to NetGalley, S.C. Lalli and HarperCollins Canada for the free e-book in exchange for an honest review.

This was so easily devoured - I finished this in about 24 hours. I couldn’t help but fly through it. So unique and easy to read! The twists were stellar right up until the last page. I would definitely recommend for a quick thriller!

This was a story that captured me from the beginning because of the ride-share mix up turned murder. Will make me think twice about jumping into a ride from an app, that’s for sure!

Two Sara(h)s involved, but which was the ACTUAL intended target?

It was dark, suspenseful, had my mind working from the start trying to figure out who the murderer was and why?! Definitely worth reading.

Additional note: Having all versions available to read; a paperback, NetGalley and audiobook ~ I truly enjoyed and can speak to getting all the experiences of reading this one! I thought the narrators were great, and I want to thank NetGalley, William Morrow as well as Sonya (SC Lalli) for my eARC. In return, I have promised to provide an unbiased review

Two Sara(h)s get into a ride share car and only one makes it out alive! These girls lead very different lives, but also share similarities.

This book was absolutely bingeable and full of twists and turns! I really enjoyed the way this author writes and will be sure to read more by them!

I was excited to read this one, and it didn't disappoint. I thought the main character was well fleshed out, and I didn't guess the ending, which is huge for someone who reads a lot of mystery/thrillers. This is the perfect fall read. :)

Two women with the same name (Sarah/Sara) each get into a ride share one night after a brief meeting at a bar. But only one woman makes it home alive, to find the other one murdered on her door step. Is it a case of mistaken identity? Wrong place at the wrong time? Who knows. This is the premise for this book and overall, I'd say it was pretty good.

I enjoyed the fast pace, this was a quick read for me. It was mostly told from Sara's point of view, but I enjoyed the chapters that were scattered in and told from the other Sarah's point of view. They told of her past and led up to the night of her murder. The story, while it didn't have any mind blowing twists for me, did provide just the right amount of mystery to keep it interesting.

My reason for the lower rating comes mainly from the fact that the story seemed to drag a little bit in the middle. It didn't make me want to stop reading completely, but I felt like the story took a bit of a turn and things got a little repetitive. Eventually it picked up again for me and I found the ending satisfying.

Huge fan of S.C. Lalli and I love that she's taken her talents to the thriller genre! This book did not disappoint and anyone who's into a fast paced suspense-filled novel will love this book!

The way this book kicks off you really think you know what's about to happen but you absolutely don't! Highly recommend for thriller readers!

I adored this captivating thriller by a fellow Canadian! I thought that this mixed identity murder mystery was so thought provoking and suspenseful, and I loved the look into the main characters backstory alongside the current mystery! Highly recommend.

Two women named Sara each get into a rideshare. . . but only one makes it home alive. Which Sara was the real target? Saraswati "Sara" Bhaduri is a law student, looking to make it in the world. She's willing to do whatever it takes. Sarah Ellis has lived a privileged life but has some dark secrets. The two meet and despite their different circumstances, the two connect. They order rideshares but accidentally switch. One ends up dead.

At first I didn't realize that S.C. Lalli = Sonya Lalli but was super impressed once I made the connection. I can't imagine that it's easy to write a totally different genre. I haven't come across many South Asian authors in the thriller space so was excited to read an #ownvoices perspective. The characters were awful people but written in a way that I enjoyed reading about them nonetheless. The twists and turns were unpredictable and I kept wanting to know what was going to happen next.

Thank you to Harper Collins Canada and NetGalley for the eGalley. All opinions expressed are my own.

I received this copy to review from Killer Crime Club in exchange for an honest review.

This one wasn’t my favourite book but I’m sure it would appeal to other readers. It started out promising but fell a bit flat for me.

Thank you to NetGalley and Killer Crime Club for the ARC.

I loved the concept of this book -- a very modern, fascinating plot centred on mistaken identity and a ride-share app. Unfortunately, the execution of the said plot was not as loveable. The two Sara(h)s barely knew each other, and the time spent on their engagement was concise compared to the rest of the book. It was challenging for me to understand the surviving Sara's motivations and dedication to understanding Sarah Ellis because of this rushed writing. The end also seemed out of place and tacked on -- after all that she went through, Sara's motivations were, again, confusing to me as a reader.

The book starts with two women named Sarah/Sara briefly meeting before getting into their ride share. One Sarah is murdered just after she is dropped off. It turns out they had gotten into each other’s ride share. Was Sarah killed because she was thought to be Sara? This is a thriller novel revolving around both women. Sarah Ellis and Sara Bhaduri both have secrets and both are complex and interesting characters.
SC Lalli has written many popular romance novels as Sonya Lalli so you may have read some of her previous books. This is her first foray into thrillers and it is a good one.

The synopsis of this book is what really got my attention. If we’re being completely honest here, I’ve never used any sort of ride-share app before. I’ve used taxis back in my clubbing/bar hopping days but never any of the ride-share services. Chalk it up to my paranoia. I always get paranoid thinking that the one time I decide to use one of these services will be the day I go missing (yes, I’m being dramatic but still).

The unnerving part of getting into the wrong ride is what made me want to dive in.

Sara Bhaduri is working one night at a bar and her boss asks her to check on a woman in the bathroom before she leaves. Turns out that woman is also named Sarah (with an H). Sara helps Sarah out of the bathroom and through the back where they both end up eventually waiting for their rides.

Unfortunately, Sarah takes the wrong ride. Sara doesn’t realize it until she ends up in the wrong neighbourhood. She walks home and waiting for her right outside is a body. The body belongs to Sarah.

There are multiple POVs from different timelines and we get to know both Sara/h’s as well. Sara comes from an immigrant family and Sarah from a very well-off family. Both have internal struggles and darkness that surround their lives.

I liked this book but I wish there was more of a scare factor to it. That’s a ME problem though. I like to be on complete edge with thrillers. I will say, that I will continue to not use ride-share services after reading this. My brain will forever be paranoid. HAHA!

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for an electronic copy to read in exchange for an honest review.

This book reads fast and has a lot going on. At times it felt like too much, but eventually it sort of all came together. There are so many despicable characters in here I'm surprised I like it as much as I did. I will definitely keep an eye on future books from Lalli

The premise of this book drew me in instantly. Unfortunately, as I got into the book, I began to lose interest, The storyline with Sara felt out of place and disjointed, and the final reveal was lacklustre. Overall, this was a quick read, but not something I overly enjoyed.
