For many reason being Ready seems to be hard to accomplish in today's flow of life of overwhelming schedules, moving from place to place, codependency on social media. David Richo does it again by utilizing questions and pointed examples to identify our needs, fears and motivations so that we can develop inner resources through our understanding of our depth and behavior overtime. It becomes clear as one reads that our landscapes are drafted in childhood and as adults we get the opportunity to recreate the lines and liberate ourselves from the trauma of the soul.

The author told me not to finish this book if I wasn't getting anything out of it so I took him at his word. His heart is in the right place but what I read (50%) is repetitive and geared toward people who are in dire straits, ie toxic or abusive relationships thy can't figure out whether to leave. I wasn't sure that continuing to read would offer me advice of value. Perhaps a different marketing position for the book would help readers who will be served by it find and connect with it. The jacket copy says "He has coached countless people of all ages through agonizing decisions related to their partnerships, their career, their home, their faith. In Ready, he shares the deep wisdom we need to make these decisions—and feel confident in following through." But this wasn't really what the book was about.

Thank you to NetGalley and to the publisher for this ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Ready was a really interesting take! This was a self help book I feel a lot of people could benefit from. It addressed a variety of situations that I think people find themselves in over the years with substantive insight and suggestions to understanding how to act when you are ready and when you’re not.
