This book has some nice recipes, albeit nothing really new. I’d have preferred the boom to be arranged by movie, with several recipes for each of a few iconic holiday movies listed all together. This would still be fun for a party; you could host a movie night with refreshments from the recipes. All in all a good idea and a fun project to do over the Christmas season.

Thanks to newgalley and the publisher for this ARC!

I received this ARC in exchange for my honest review.

First. DO NOT read on an empty stomach. These pictures are soo tantalizing! I liked that the author included dishes that, as she said in her introduction, are not necessarily based on holiday movies, which allowed the recipes to move beyond the traditional holiday classics.

Let's talk about the really rich hot cocoa and the cookies with lots of sprinkles. Delicious! But let's also ponder on the novelty of a salmon dinner or insalata di mare. Yummmm.

Each recipe has a little forward describing the movie from which it was inspired. Recipes are formatted nicely and the instructions are clear. The book is broken down by categories such as traditional holiday dinner and treats, as well as fun new ideas, and beverages fit for kids and adults alike.

If you're looking for a fun new way to eat your way through the holidays, look bo further! This book has your back...and your stomach.

I love this book! I’ve always wanted a book with Christmas movies and recipes because I love cooking or baking something from a Christmas movie when we watch it. There are lots of Christmas movies that are our favorites and some new ones I’ll have the watch. There are lots of yummy recipes. The photos are great and there are so many. I especially loved the gingerbread men.

I’m always looking for ways to make the holidays fun and al little different each year. This book made me think about our family get together rand I thought it would be fun to stream movies all day, tying in our snacks and meals to the movies. My daughter loved the idea and we can’t wait to try it out this year.

But this recipes aren’t just for Christmas. We’re trying them out before the holidays and will be ready to turn our family room and home into a Christmas Wonderland this year…in a completely different way than we ever have before. I can’t wait to reveal this to the family after our Thanksgiving meal when we plan and talk about Christmas.

This is the perfect book for Christmas lovers and bakers. This is the perfect companion book for holiday movies. This cookbook includes recipes to go along with your favorite Christmas movies and maybe help introduce you to some new to you holiday movies. One example is Christmas pudding. This is an old fashioned recipe that maybe ole Scrooge would have eaten in A Christmas Carol. They include a write up about the movie and what the recipe was either from the movie or inspired by the movie. I can think of so many fun movie nights using this cookbook. There's a really nice recipe for hot chocolate to go along with the Polar Express. Perfect for the whole family. All your family's favorite movies are included; White Christmas, Home Alone, Rudolph, It's a Wonderful Life and Christmas with the Kranks to just name a few. This is a really fun and creative new cookbook. And don't forget to pull it out for Christmas in July too!

I knew the minute I heard about THE CHRISTMAS MOVIE COOKBOOK by Julia Rutland, it was must for me. I mean, really, when have you ever had a chance to prepare a dish from your favorite Christmas movie? And not just the obvious Christmas Movies. There are also flicks that featured Christmas!

Entertaining Tips and Holiday Menu Ideas open this holly jolly recipe book. There are a bunch of great ideas I’d like to try out.

The recipes are just as fun as I had hoped! And each recipe is mark with the movie it came from. Some of the recipes and movies represented are . . . Really Rich Hot Chocolate – Polar Express, Rosemary Bees Knees – Happiest Season, Overnight Orange Cinnamon Rolls – Arthur Christmas, Seafood & Sausage Gumbo – This Christmas, Hearty Vegetable Stew – Christmas in Canaan, Creamy Mashed Potatoes – While You Were Sleeping, Roast Turkey with Pomegranate Sauce – National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation, Crispy Fish Sticks – Klaus, Burgermeister - Santa Claus Is Comin’ To Town, Baby Back Ribs – The Nightmare Before Christmas, Linzer Star Cookies – Die Hard, Three-Layer Mint Brownies – Angela’s Christmas, and many more!

I’m thrilled that beautiful color phots are included in this book. I want to see what the dish is supposed to look like so I can know if I even get close to the recipe when I make it.

While some of the recipes are ones you will find in most basic cookbooks, such as the Mashed Potato recipe, over-all, THE CHRISTMAS MOVIE COOKBOOK is a fun one, and will be fun to display in your kitchen or on your coffee table as part of your Christmas decor.

What a fun concept cookbook!

Iconic holiday movies, even some I haven't heard of before, matched with an amazing recipe either mentioned in the movie or inspired by the movie. The recipes have a sidenote of the movie they're matched with - a description of the movie and why the recipe was chosen. Beautiful, colorful photos accompany each recipe - along with easy to follow, detailed instructions.

Even if you're not a cook/baker - it is a really interesting book to read!

Thank you to NetGalley, the author and publisher for a temporary, digital ARC in return for my review.

Thank you Julia and NetGalley for the opportunity to read this book and give my honest opinion.

This is a quick read of lots of recipes that you can cook around Christmas, but really it can be used all year round and for parties. There's a lot of good recipes in the book and they all look good 👍🏻

I guess my only complaint on this is the movie aspect doesn't really line up with a lot of the recipes. There is a few movies - and each one is described and then told why each recipe was picked for that movie - that it seems like one line was picked and that's why the recipe goes with it. But overall they just don't match up. At least, personally.

But if you disregard all of that, this is still a very good Cookbook and you wouldn't be disappointed.
