A quick read short story. The lesbian story has a fabulous bar where 2 gals meet. The 3 time engaged but no marriage is interesting. The mix up of old girl friends was a fun coincidence. Short enough to read in one sitting.

A great addition to the At the Mall series by Sarah Robinson. Nell James is seriously disappointed to hear her favorite bar at the local mall is closing down. The bar has been her salvation due to the darts league she's in and the company. When her best friend informs her it's not closed but just under new ownership, Nell is curious and steps through the Irish themed bar during the soft opening. Saoirse Walsh is looking for a fresh start. She thinks she'll find that when she opens her bar but the local reporter has found out she's like 2 men and 1 woman hanging at the alter. She's not looking for anything until her instant attraction with Nell gets them in to trouble with her ex-fiance, who just happens to be Nell's ex-girlfiend. A fun, flirty read.

So I got Mall Out of Luck as an ebook from Netgalley to review and I love reading seasonal/holiday themed reads so I figured it would be a fun read for today. Well, it is a novella so it was a quick read and I already finished it, and I'm gonna give this one 2 stars. Too much tried to happen and not enough did, it was like each chapter the plot got lost and started something slightly different. I appreciate that the author subverted expectations a bit in the epilogue but it was pretty disappointing overall. I've read an obnoxious about of fanfic in my day and I love anthologies, so I know you can write a great and succinct story in under 50,000 words but this isn't it. Also, the characters on the cover don't even match the descriptions of the characters like at all.

I loved this book. Mall Out of Luck is a lovely romance that offers characters that I cared for from the beginning. Spontaneity and odd circumstances gave a twist that kept me engaged.

The St. Paddy's day theme was fun and fulfilled my need to read good holiday books.

I highly recommend.

It wasn't until I was taking my coat off at work that I realized, of course, that I had forgotten today is St. Patrick's Day. So, instead of sharing a green outfit- I'm going to share my thoughts on this St. Patty's Day themed novella from Sarah Robinson.

MALL OUT OF LUCK is the exact thing I needed to read, but didn't know it. Perfect for those who enjoy matching seasons/holidays to their reads- the atmosphere was Spot.On.

Check it out if you're needing these vibes:
-Short (under 100 pages)
-Sapphic
-Fake Relationship
-Feel-good
-Runaway Bride
-Love Triangle
-St. Patty's Day
-STEM/strong MCs

Thank you @netgalley and @sarahrobinson for the advance copy in exchange for an honest review!

This was a cute little novella! I liked both the main characters and thought they had strong chemistry together. Because of the length, we weren't able to get much depth with either one of them, but for what it was I thought they were cute. I thought the twist came a little abruptly and was resolved a little quickly, and perhaps there could have been one more chapter before the epilogue to wrap everything up a bit more, but overall it was cute and definitely got me in the spirit for Saint Patty's Day!

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for letting me read this ARC.
5 Stars!!
What a cute short story. I loved the characters and the twist at the end of the story. Didn't see that coming!
Will definately read more of Sarah Robinson's books.

This is the second book I've read that's based at the Mall, I enjoyed the valentine themed story so I was happy to read this one too, I'm ok reading romance books that may contain FF, MM etc, there is no descriptive sex scenes in the book, and I was really enjoying the first part of the book. How Nell meets Saoirse... the books 100 pages so there's not much space to elaborate on certain parts, but I wish it had been longer, as it seems to jump too quickly to the conclusion.
At the end of the story there's tasters of other books which is great of course, but I'd have appreciated the current story to take up more of that that space, I'd just got to know the characters and what was happening in there courtship to then end up at the epilogue.
I was left Wondering what the heck happened at the St Patrick's day opening.. the brunch...

This review is my honest thoughts and I thank netgalley and the author for the opportunity to read the book.

Thank you Netgalley, Sarah Robinson, and IMAG for allowing me an E-ARC of this book to review.

I have been WAITING for this book for so long and it was nothing short of fantastic!
Since Nell was first introduced, i have been hopeful for a book with her. And here it is and I LOVE IT!

After finding out her favorite bar is under new ownership, Nell is curious. The news hasn't painted Saoirse in the best light, and she wants to be sure her favorite hangout hasn't been thrown to the dogs. Upon Nells arrival to the bar she meets saoirse and a connection is felt. While getting to know one an other a nosey reporter pops up harassing Saoirse. Nell quickly comes to her rescue but in a way neither expected.
Now Nell and Saoirse must pretend to be married for the sake of the media.
Will their fake marriage be just for show or will Nell and Saoirse find that maybe their luck hasn't run out quite yet.

Nell and Saoirse are literally GOALS. Their quick friendship and care for each other is what love stories thrive on. I loved their quirky banter back and fourth as well as the few twists that literally had me laughing and even once dying of embarrassment for them. Having a rocky past is hard but both found peace within each other to tempt fate one more time.
The ending had me in a fit of giggles as it was the LAST thing i expected.
The At the Mall Novella's have quickly become some of my favorite reads. They are so quick and light hearted. Perfect for a feel good moment when all your other moments aren't so good.

This cute little sapphic romance was a joy to read. I usually struggle to connect to the characters when reading a novel because they are so short. But this one hit the right spots as I did feel their building connection in small details. It's cute, funny, maybe a tad predictable but that's definitely okay. I had fun reading it.

This was actually the third book in the 'At the Mall' series, but it read fine as a stand-alone St. Patrick's Day story. When I picked it up, I didn't originally realize how short it was, but it worked out great as a fun story with quirky characters to get me in the mood for St. Patrick's Day (note to self: make sure the kids wear green to school on Thursday...)

Nell is an independent vaccine-scientist who grew up in foster care. She's stayed close to one brother from her youth, but generally tries not to get too attached to people. When she hears her favorite bar is changing hands and having a new re-grand-opening on St. Patrick's Day, she can't resist going to check it all out as soon as possible.

This is how she finds herself behind the bar inventing green drinks for Saoirse, the new owner, just in time to make up a doozy of a story for a nosy reporter. While the lesbian love-story novella doesn't pack a lot of surprises, it's definitely a fun and entertaining read. And I give bonus points while the story takes place in Michigan!

I gave this fun book 3 out of 5 stars, and may even be inspired enough to whip up a green cocktail later this week!

I loved Mall You Need so I was super excited to read this novella. It was super cute, and I really liked the characters, but it went by super fast. Like it started to get good and then it was over, I would have loved more of the romance between them.

Not my cup of tea. I wasn't connected to the story or characters. Don't get me wrong, romances don't have to be realistic, but that part where she said they were married at the beginning just made me cringe, so awkward and unrealistic.

Nell is attending the new opening of a bar where she meets Saoirse, nicknamed the runaway bride for leaving three people at the alter. Taken with each right away, their romance is quick to ignite. But can it last?

This was a cute, fun read that was fairly clean. I loved the characters and the romance that came quickly between them. I wasn't sure how I felt about the ending, but I feel like it suited the characters the best.

This was a short book, so you expect things to happen quickly, which is what happened. However, there was so much going on, that it was a little overbearing for a novella. This could have been a full length novel, but for a novella it was just too much. On top of that, the middle of the story was almost nonexistent and Nell kind of disappeared next to Soairse.

Although not appropriate for my students, I thoroughly enjoyed this novella! I loved the representation and the characters. Saoirse and Nell are so sweet and this story was so fun.

I adored this so much and I do accept that this was a novella, but I just wanted more 😍I enjoyed the characters but wanted to know more about them, there were some inconsistencies that didn’t make sense how could a regular in a bar not know the management had changed. I loved the twists in it (no spoilers) . Overall Its a lovely read and I liked it, I just really wanted more of it.

Thanks to netgalley and the publisher for a free copy for an honest opinion

4.5/5

I have some hesitancies about novellas. I prefer full-length novels but I’ve never been against shorter books. I just don’t tend to read them as often. However a lesbian book with that title and cover, I couldn’t pass it up. All my thanks to Netgalley and the author for approving my request to read this book.

This book was adorable. I absolutely loved both of the characters. They were cute together. They were also really interesting as separate characters too! Saoirse in particular interests me. I just want to know more about her past and why/how she ended up where she did. Nell seems like a sweetheart, but her snake freaks me out.

The plot was an interesting premise. I do quite like when people meet because one gets ownership of a place the other visits regularly. It’s a weird thing, but I enjoy it. It’s a forced proximity sort of thing without being forced proximity. So I was looking forward to seeing where this book goes after they meet at the bar. I will admit that I wasn’t expecting it to go in the direction that it went. I’m definitely not against it, I thought it was glorious, I just had no idea that it was headed that way. Altogether though, I thought the book was well-paced for a novella.

As a note though, I definitely would have loved this book to be longer. It’s good as a novella but the premise is interesting enough that I’d love to see a full-length novel of it.

This was a cute, short read. I definitely think it works well if you want something with minimal angst. It’s a sweet romance with likeable characters and I like that it took place around St. Patrick’s Day. Do remember that it is a novella though so things move fast.

I loved this adorable St. Paddys Day lesbian romance about an altar shy Irish bar owner's quest for a love - and a successful St. Patrick's Day opening.
Set in the same mall as the Valentine's Day romance Mall You Need is Love, this is a stand alone, sharing only a few mall vendors in common. It's funny, sweet and just a little steamy which relies on a couple of coincidences to provide more than one happily ever after.
If you're looking for a little light reading to go with your shamrocks and green beer, this the perfect story to warm up from those cold March winds

What a lovely sweet, romantic and funny read.
i love the mall series they are just such easy reads and easy to follow.
The romance makes you feel all warm and fuzzy inside.
Definitely great to read if you need a quick burst of love.

The premise of the story is cute and moves quickly and I loved the characters finding the love they deserve but even with it being a novella, I feel like it was missing some information. It could have still remained short and giving us a little more of these characters and the details of the bar and story.
